Three times and each time has been a charm. We again dined here for our anniversary and the food and service was impeccable. Dining here in the early summer means lots of fresh spring and summer vegetables. Dishes that stuck out in my mind this time include the broccoli soup along with chicken potstickers. The service includes five courses. Appetizer always starts out as flatbreads and fresh vegetables. They are typically available for an hours time. Come early so you can partake. Don't forget about the farm tour that starts at 6:30 PM. This is not your usual dinner. It is more of an event so expect to spend at least 3 to 4 hours dining at this place. Wonderful place for a date night or double date but need to plan ahead as you must book and pay for dinner prior to going. It's a menu designed by the owner of the farm who is also the chef and everything is local to their farm or used by other local farms (like the meat). Was all very good food. You sit with others at the same large table (sits 20-30) but individual seats no benches which is wonderful. You can also take a small tour with the wife who runs the farming and ensures everything is top notice. We shall be back! We went to a wine tasting at Claverach Farms. It was one of the most beautiful and pleasant evenings I have spent. The wine was wonderful and Rachel was very knowledgeable in her explanations of the wine and the farm. We will be back as often as we can. I am giving Claverach Farm one star (I would have given them none if that were an option) since I ordered a case of wine that was delivered and left on my doorstep without anyone letting me know it was there. Several of the bottles were ruined since it was 90+ degrees outside. It could have been out there for hours. I have never heard of a place delivering wine without requiring a signature. I even arranged via email with Rachel to be home all day to accept delivery and I was. Whomever delivered it obviously just put it on my porch and left. I am very disappointed since 4 out of 6 of the bottles are probably undrinkable. there is an abundance of sediment and the bottle I opened tasted like rubbing alcohol and very bad. I realize there is natural sediment in the wine, but I believe that sitting out in the heat for too long ruined half of the bottles. The other issue is that it is EXTREMELY hard to contact anyone at Claverach Farm. The phone number listed on the website and on Yelp has been disconnected. The only option is email that is only answered randomly (It took several days for me to get an answer). It would have been good if they could have texted or called me to let me know my wine was on the way. They will not replace the ruined wine or give me a refund which in my opinion despite this being the policy is bad business in this situation. I'm sorry to say I will NEVER order wine from them again. read more

This now a family favorite. We've gone to 3 farm dinners (as vegetarian/ pescatarians) in 3 different seasons and are so enamored with this operation! We want to keep coming back! The concept is executed flawlessly, even as we did experience different chefs on visits. During the fall and winter the its dark, but if you can go in the summer you can get a nice little tour of the grounds as well. We didn't find it hard to drive to. I've also ordered wine to my home and they delivered it the next day! It's a wonderful place and I hope they continue to do well. read more

Had a corporate meeting at Claverach Farm in the afternoon with dinner to follow on Thursday 10/26. Wonderful venue, off the beaten path, but well worth the drive! Rehabbed barn was very neat. Smell of the wood smoke wafting through the barn enhanced the experience. The dinner was outstanding, truly farm to table, with a nice selection of wines with each course. Prior to dinner the farm owner's wife gave us a short tour of some of the adjoining crops that were used in our dinner. Overall, a great evening! read more

The $80 price tag on the dinner does sound daunting, but the food combined with the ambiance and the experience as a whole make it MORE than worthy. You get a cocktail hour with three different apps, and an explanation of the farm's methods and a quick tour. Then there are 5 courses. First, Soup, Salad, Entree (larger portion), and Dessert. By the end of the meal my pants were too tight!!! The food was so fresh, you could tell that the produce was recently picked. The flavors were clean and innovative. And the plating was beautiful. This place is absolutely incredible. I completely messed up the days I made my reservation for and missed my dinner. I contacted them and they immediately responded and set me up for the dinner the next day. Wow. Now that's customer service. The barn is stunning, nestled right in the Missouri bluffs. I kept hearing it was complicated to get there, but we had no trouble and actually enjoyed the fall colors along the drive. The food was to die for and with it being spread out between courses you get the chance to catch up with your friends or maybe walk out to the bonfire with a cocktail. There's is an incredible amount of work that goes into the food you eat. The owners take care of every detail, down to the microbiology of the soil the food is grown in. Fantastic food and experience. They only serve 1 dinner per night, so get your reservations early. The menu changes often to keep with the seasonal ingredient availability. Food was great, but our experience was absolutely awful. There was a large party that arrived drunk, and behaved like they were at a college fraternity party - yelling at each other, whistling, name-calling and threatening to fight other guests who requested they tone it down. Management looked the other way, and when asked, indicated that having large, badly behaved drunken groups was not an unusual occurrence. Pretty awful for a $75 a plate restaurant. As much as I looked forward to this experience, I am sorry to say that it was a huge disappointment. Yelp indicates that the price range is $11-$30 but a meal is $75 per person and that does not include your drink. You can purchase wine, beer, and a few mixed drinks at the bar or you can arrange to pair your meal with wines selected by the house for an additional price. Otherwise, you drink water. The food is nothing outstanding or creative. There are plenty "farm to table" venues in the area that have meals that are by far and away better than the one we had. The main course was a chicken thigh so if you love this cut of chicken, it would have been okay, however for $75 per person, I would have expected a more creative main course. I did love the soup but beyond that, I would call each course basically average. We were told to arrive early if we wanted to walk around but that the dinner started at 6:30. The first course was out after 7:30 with the dessert course out shortly after 10. I can only assume that the venue hoped to monopolize the bar sales since there was nothing else to do. With 4 courses after the appetizers, one would hope to be done in a couple of hours. Our meal took 4 hours, with 45 minutes to an hour between courses. This might have been okay if we had been able to talk but the volume of sound in the building (terrible acoustics) was so loud, we could not hear each other speak across the table without almost yelling. Although not a horrible dinner, given the price tag, I cannot say this experience is worth taking the time or driving the distance (the last mile and a half is down a dusty gravel road). With all the really good "farm to table" restaurants in the area, there are better choices. read more
