There is a second floor for possibly being treated for whatever ails you. From what I can tell, there are massage rooms on the first floor too. Unfortunately, when I stopped, by at around 5:05pm, nothing was stirring, not even a mouse. I called out to someone, but nobody answered. If everybody is everybody, then somebody should have answered. There for nobody is somebody's problem. Especially if somebody want to get paid...whether it is money or relief. Also, upon looking around I saw prices for elite levels of getting services done, but I would have liked to ask someone for clarification on these prices. Alas, no one was was home. I checked online to find prices for this business and found nothing either. Am I lucky or unlucky at this misfortune? I guess it doesn't matter now. The unlucky is nothing more than a frame of reference for the luck. So I won't waste time wondering what could've been when I am what could've been and what could not have been. I might try this place again, but putting their prices for services on a pamphlet or online would be most helpful new and old clientele. If you do have the prices listed, I did not find them on your websites for Yelp and Google. If you can make the prices easier to spot, it would be most helpful. Your new potential clients would appreciate it.

He called to make the appointment and they attempted to make him return the groupon and pay in office, promising the same price as the groupon. First of all that's super sketchy, I read poor reviews of other massage places nearby charging people's cards random amounts that differed from what they were told. Secondly if you don't make money off groupon, what's the point in offering groupons for your business? Spend some money on a decent marketing team if you're only after exposure. This morning my boyfriend received this email from someone who works there: "We asked you pay at the office the same amount of money on the Groupon, the spot you reserved was for clients who will pay money at the office. And you was agree for that! And our therapists all contractors they don't take one day too many clients who has a coupon. Because we don't make money from this promotion. So we don't know they will work for you guys. If you want to move for next Saturday 02/04 we have opening at 2pm. Again, if Groupon doesn't allow you to make money and you can't see the bigger picture involved (ie using it to bring in new clients who will spend money at the office in the future) then maybe DONT offer groupons for your business! We were told they could take us on the 28th, why would I want to come back on a day that isn't my birthday? This is beyond unprofessional, I can't fathom owning a company and treating paying customers this way. I'm in need of a regular massage therapist due to a prior injury and was planning on going back had this massage gone well. Unfortunately for them I will be taking my business elsewhere and advising others to do the same.

And I've had a lot of back pain to boot (so bad it required surgery at one point). I walked out of Valerie's massage studio feeling like a very relaxed, flexible, happy rag doll. She is amazing. She has some different options for massages and I needed some deep tissue work. Never have I had just one massage from someone and felt this much better! My husband called up and made two appointsment one for each of us, they said the only time they could accommodate us back to back would be at 5:00 pm. At 3:30 we called to confirm and they confirmed both appointments. At 4:44 we parked out front, the meter was broken so I called it into DC and received a text back. We went into the salon, they brought us downstairs, we filled out our paper work. At that point the therapist came out and said she could only do one of us or both for 30 minutes each since they were now closing at 6 or we could just come back another time. We went back and forth, they refused to refund us (she kept saying Amazon had to refund us, I explained to her that Amazon is a marketplace that the salon has our money) and so I sent my husband in to do the one hour and would deal with the other issue at a later time. By now, it is a few minutes before 5 (our original appointment time). At 5:15 a young man showed up for his 5:15, the receptionist knocks and the therapist comes out and tells him to sit as she will only be a few more minutes. The receptionist leaves to go to Starbucks, and does not come back. At around 5:30, I told him she was doing a one-hour massage that started around 5. He said he could not wait and left. At 5:37 she comes out to take the 5:15 appointment and said she was finished with the massage. I told her it was a one-hour and she wasn't even in for 40 minutes. She told me she started just after 4:30, which I told her was not accurate and showed her the parking text (4:44pm outside the salon), and the text was before the paperwork and back and forth on scheduling and refunds. She went back in for a few more minutes finally coming out at 4:47, still not an hour massage and with two interruptions, but at that point it was futile. Now, there is another man who says he has a 6pm appointment and the receptionist is still not back from Starbucks. At that point we left. My husband said the massage was marginal and she clearly rushed through it. So now we were ripped off, and left with a worthless pre-paid second massage. We will also complain to Amazon.

I arrived a little early and was escorted upstairs to an appropriate private room. The massous was an Asian female. She was very pleasant and we managed with her lack of English. This was a straight-forward no pre-interview type of situation which was fine since I had no need to relate any medical or other historical information. The massage was very good quality and covered all the areas required for an athletic type body and body areas. There was some minor stretching done and it was apparent the massous was capable and knowledgeable of appropriate pressures and anatomy. I was very pleased with quality and price. I will return. Nick suggested several Thursday and Friday late afternoon appointments, and was so annoyed that I needed to plan in advance because I don't have a flexible schedule that he just told me he wouldn't take me as a client. I also posted this review on google, and the owner immediately responded with some nonsense about how they're very busy and don't have time to return messages, so I guess I'm lucky they even bothered to try to fit me in to their very full schedule. Clearly they don't need new clients, so don't bother trying to schedule with them. Edit: They're so busy that they can't schedule an appointment with me in the next few weeks on a Tuesday or Wednesday, but they mysteriously have responded to both of my negative reviews with a weird grammatically incorrect response almost immediately following my post (see below). I have never been so glad that a company didn't "have time" for my business.

I was warned the appointment might start closer to 8 pm since they were tightly booked that day. I arrived at 7:40 pm and patiently waited in their reception area. At 8 pm, I went to knock on therapist's door without answer. At 8:10 pm, I called the therapist and got his voicemail. I left a message asking why he missed our appointment and inquiring about rescheduling. The therapist called me back about 10 minutes later saying the appointment was moved to 7:15 pm and he left since I wasn't there. I questioned how a change was made without my authorization. Nicolas said he sent a text message and called 3x but my phone just rang out. I told him he must have written down the wrong phone number because I have a VM on my line and I don't have any missed calls or text messages. Nicolas elevated his voice saying he had proof he sent a text. He said he would have sent an email, but I failed to give him my email address as required. I reminded him he gave me a choice between a phone number and email before saying even if you sent an email the time can't change unless I verify I am ok with the change. Before I could make sure Nicolas did in fact text the right phone number, he abruptly cut me off with a loud NO! He continued his rude and extremely disrespectful behavior by yelling about how he is not going back and forth. He said I missed my 7:15 pm appointment so it's my fault he won't be refunding my money. I told him I blamed him for changing my appointment without authorization. He told me to go deal with Groupon and hung up on me. I spent over 3 hours traveling to and from appointment, waiting, and responding to Groupon (therapist prematurely marked voucher as used so the issue had to be further escalated within Groupon before they eventually undeemed it for a refund). I found RM Wellness through @onthemovewithmad, a DC-based travel influencer, and booked a 60-minute massage and a lymphatic face massage. The spa itself is a little hard to find, but directions were sent via text and they were perfect. The interior is super charming with exposed stone walls and beautiful wood floors. My treatment room had an original fireplace, subtle but useful furniture, and it was very attractive and cozy. The massage was just perfect. Regina (also the owner!) checked the pressure a few minutes in, and was very nice. I carry stress in my shoulders and she made it her life goal to rid me of knots - and she did. I'm still relaxed 5 days later. But the lymphatic facial massage? I've never had one and didn't know what to expect. Not to be dramatic, but it was life-changing. She massaged my face, neck, and décolletage with a smooth stone, and I could feel the drainage (it's allergy season, y'all) leaving my head. I left breathing clearer than I had in weeks. I went to get a massage from a masseuse Derrick and it was great. Derrick is a great masseuse and is a specialist in various massages. His sports massage always helps me feel brand new. It's a bit hard to find, but they send clear instructions via text prior to your appointment, which was very helpful. I can't wait to go back and recommend to more friends.

But by the time I walked over to Adams Morgan, I had discovered that the nail salon I used to go to from time to time had closed. While I was walking down the street to see if there were any other nail spots on the block still open, I stumbled upon Prada, opting for a foot massage instead. I walked down the stairs into a dark space and was quickly greeted. I opted for a 30 minute foot massage for $40. They ask that you pay first before taking you to a big comfy chair in the next room. The foot massage itself was pretty good but they smell in the space reminded me a bit of basement mildew and remained consistently top of mind while getting the massage. But the woman that did the massage was so nice! If you're looking for a quick and easy foot massage it will do the trick, but just don't expect spa-like esthetics.

It seems like the only customers they have are from GroupOn and LivingSocial coupons which makes total sense because they are just looking for one time only customers because I cannot see them having any repeat customers after the experience I had. Lily is completely unprofessional and argumentative. She kept insisting that the LivingSocial coupon was for only a swedish massage and the coupon does not specify, it just says one hour massage, it does not specify the kind of massage. Just like other Yelpers, she tried to upsell for an additional $10 for a deep tissue massage and kept insisting that I get it. Then I asked her to show me where it says in writing that it specifies for only a swedish and she couldn't answer so she called the manager and with her broken English started yelling at me. You don't treat customers like that! I will never return and I will make sure that everyone stays away from this place!!!!!
