I've been to this salon twice, and each experience was worse than the last. After my first haircut, I noticed how uneven it was once I straightened my hair at home--one side had significantly more layers than the other. It looked completely unbalanced and was very disappointing. The second time, even though we had an appointment, we were treated as if we didn't. Another customer walked in at the same time, and the stylist rushed to her, saying, "I'll finish quickly and get to you soon." We had a clear reference photo for the haircut and clearly stated that we wanted that exact style--but she didn't seem to care. When I asked for a blowout to see if the final result matched the photo, she refused, saying she had to move on to the next client. What's the point of having an appointment if you're not going to respect it? To top it off, she didn't even bother to clean the loose baby hairs off the clothes. And when I later called her to address these concerns, she rudely hung up on me. Completely unprofessional and disappointing. I won't be going back. read more

I started working with her 5 years ago when another stylist had completely messed up my hair and I showed up at another salon she worked at practically crying and begging her to fix my hair. I've visited this salon twice. The first time I paid $130 for a haircut, hair mask, and eyebrow threading--more than I expected, but the results were okay so I came back. This second time, I was only getting a wash and blow-dry with a slight curl at the ends. I was surprised when I was charged $75. 1. I scheduled an appointment with Maryam for Saturday @ 9:30 am. However, Maryam was off that day. Why send a confirmation email & text if you know you are going to be off? 2. The lady that was there never introduced herself (thought she was Maryam) 3. She looked at my daughter's hair and said she would need to do color correction and it would cost $275.00. I said okay. She did a color test and said she could not work on my daughter's hair but another person was coming at 10:00 a.m. that could do the color correction. 4. Connie (I believe is her name) came a 10:00 am and looked at my daughter's hair and said she could not do the color correction. I said okay, what other options do we have? My daughter showed her a pic of what she wanted and the hairdresser said that she could do a darker hair color with the same style. We said okay. She proceeded to highlight my daughter's hair and I could tell the hairdressers started to worry a bit when the front hair was not developing into the same color as the rest of the highlights . 5. My daughter's hair was burnt with the bleach and made it very brittle because of the amount of time she left her hair under the salon dryer as well as the amount of time she layer the bleach. 6. My daughters hair was damaged. In the process of bleaching, my daughter noticed that the hair dresser was combing out numerous chunks of dead bleached hair and did not address this properly. Instead, the hairdresser proceeded as if nothing happened. 7. In addition, when asking how much the service of my daughter's hair would cost with the inclusion of the color correction, the first hairdresser stated $275. When she said this, the first hairdresser, as well as "Connie," started to whisper among themselves, which I thought was odd (this happened twice). 8. The two hairdressers also expressed how they are never aware of any appointments made online because they only go to Maryam and Maryam does not communicate this information with them. 9. I was charged $275 for a color correction that never happened. As mentioned earlier, my daughter's hair was damaged as well. I also had my hair dyed for $140 and went home with hair dye on my forehead, neck and ears. 10. In conclusion, I would not recommend this place. This was our first and last time here. read more

Not many women cut men's hair well, especially from a salon, but that's what makes Mariyam and Classy Hair Studio so unsuspecting. I asked Mariyam, with hesitation, if she could do a skin fade, razor short, hard part, line up, and a trim on top, shorter cut towards the back. Mariyam said with confidence, no problem!
