From the very first wax, she made me feel so comfortable just by being so calm and talking me through everything. My pain tolerance is on the VERY low end but Alma just has a natural way of distracting you to the point you forget you're even getting a wax! Alma is THE BEST! I've been getting Brazilians for a couple of years at 3-4 different places because I move around so much. I found her in July when I moved back to riverside and after the first visit I knew I'd never go anywhere else. Her technique is different than other places I've gone to in that she really takes her time and does smaller areas at a time to decrease pain. She's also queen at making sure ALL hair is removed. I was traveling for work just recently and had to cheat on her which made me sad but it made me so much more grateful for having found her because she really gets in there and makes sure there's not even a single hair left. Definitely a great discovery! Alma was amazing. All the reviews here are real since I can attest to it. Alma makes you feel like you've known each other for a long time. She makes you very comfortable during the entire process. You wouldn't even notice she has been doing your wax. Also, the most important thing is that her stuff are clean. She doesn't reuse the sticks. One application per stick. Unlike other waxing salons that re-dip their sticks in the wax, which is so unhygienic. Highly recommended! read more

Alma is incredible at what she does. I started off by just getting my eyebrows waxed. Now I get my brows, underarms and Brazilian by her! She's fast and efficient but the pain is minimal. Of course there is a level of pain that comes with getting waxed but her technique really helps to minimize it as much as possible. OMG! I can't believe I'm about to say this considering I had a Brazilian wax....it was such a relaxing experience. I'm still shocked of how pain free that was. Alma is such a sweetheart! I had an appointment and she was feeling under the weather, she sent me a courtesy text to advise me in case I didn't want to risk getting sick myself. Had it not been for the 6 month gap in between waxes I may have let her off the hook. Talk about way over due. She's in the Phoenix Salon Suites which I've never seen before but it's super cute! Everyone has their own space for whatever service they provide. Her space was neat and clean which is always great. After a not so good sugaring experience I decided to go back to waxing. There's a lot of naysayers when it comes to strip waxing but I think for myself I get the best results and I've tried everything. When we got started she was fast and gentle and her good conversation made time fly by. Aside from that pesky lip region the wax was practically painless. The wax felt nice and was a nice temperature. I was happy to see she doesn't double dip also. I love the feeling of a freshly waxed kitty!! When I got home to thoroughly inspect my Brazilian I noticed the area in between the crease of my cheeks wasn't waxed. Typically when I get my behind waxed the waxer will have me lay on my side and lift my cheeks but she had me lay on my stomach and in between but not under. (My girls with some junk in the trunk know what I mean) It's not a total big deal as I can run a razor over it but I expected to walk out with a hairless kitty and a bottom to match. I'll just let her know next time to not be afraid to her I there and lift and push those cheeks around to see any hidden hairs. read more

I ended up coming here to get my eyebrows waxed because it's in the same location as where I get my hair done and I am so glad I came here! I messaged through yelp and Alma responded very quickly and was able to book an appointment for me the same day as my hair appointment. I usually go to my nail salon to wax my eyebrows, which isn't bad, but I tend to breakout after waxing there. Alma asked me how I wanted my eyebrows and explained how to grow them back out to be longer and they'll look better. She was super nice and friendly! I've never gotten my eyebrows done before because Ive always been terrified someone's going to make them way too thin. I went into Alma's salon and was very nervous because I had already felt like she kept adding wax after wax. She told me to sit up and look at them and tell her if I see anything wrong with them. I was so overjoyed with the way they looked and I was instantly relieved. She really did an amazing job. She recommended I let one of my eyebrows grow out a bit more so it would be completely even. However, they look like twins to me. I'm not going to anyone else. I'll be back as soon as my other eyebrow fully gets filled like she recommended.
