More importantly, their website said the stroller I wanted was in stock and available in 4 hours for pickup, but when I got there it wasn't available for purchase and it had to be ordered. When I brought it up to the cashier, he said it was because they have it in store their inventory but not at the store? Huh?? After doing more digging I saw there was a "Terms and conditions" asterisk in fine print you have to click on to find out this information. All I saw was the green check mark that says "In stock and ready for pick up in 4 hours." Any other place I have ever been to- this would mean it would be in stock at the store. When I brought up, calmly, that this was confusing and they should fix it because I drove two hours to get to the store. The cashier said nothing. Not a "Aw geez, I'm sorry. I can understand your frustration and why that's confusing." I'm a reasonable person. I've worked in customer service all my life. The demeanor of the cashier alone has put me off from ever visiting this store again or recommending it. We went to Uppababy a few blocks down and they were SOOO kind that it completely made my day. All I needed was some kindness. To the owners of the Pump Station- the people using your website are most likely VERY tired moms. I personally am getting 3-4 hours of sleep a day. Tired moms need clear signage if something is in stock or not. Time is precious in this season of life. We also need KINDNESS. My body is broken and recovering from giving birth. I am exhausted! I would expect a place who sells baby items to understand this. Overall, would never recommend this place and will tell everyone I know that it was an awful experience.

She has a background in biology, and she gave us an honest & thorough assessment of the risks & benefits of all our medical options. After our first meeting, we felt confident that she could be a strong advocate for us in the hospital. At the same time, she is compassionate and understanding of a laboring woman's needs. In the delivery room, Erin was willing to be hands-on with massage and supportive touch. She gave Mama constant verbal encouragement while also listening to her responses and adjusting her approach accordingly. She knew when to jump in & help, and when to step back and give Mama some space. She is very responsive and easy to communicate with. Mama's water broke at 4:00am on Christmas Day. Erin called us back immediately and was prepared to drive to our house at a moment's notice. We ended up waiting 12 more hours before labor started, but when it was truly "go time", Erin rushed to meet us at the hospital (Mama's labor progressed too quickly for her to come to our house). Before we got to the labor room, we had to sit in a triage room for 2 hours while nurses took Mama's blood & ran tests. Erin was not allowed in the triage room, but she texted and called us from the waiting room with advice and reassurance. Once we got to the labor room, she sprung into action. Erin even offered to take some photos after the baby was born. Her professional camera and artistic eye caught some unforgettable images of us with our new baby. She stayed with us until we got to our recovery room, and she followed up with us after a week to make sure we were doing OK. We sincerely appreciate everything she did for our family.

She provides different options and an explanation of each option on how you would like your placenta encapsulated. Her background in science is a major plus! So many times my friends were going to go "natural" but in the end they would give into the almighty needle. So I did a ton of research and I came to the conclusion that I was going to educate myself as much as I could and that I would hire a doula. My husband was very skeptical... His entire family laughed when I said I was going to try a natural birth. Their exact words "Why would you ever choose that?!!" So I dragged my reluctant husband to our 6 week Hypnobabies course. By the 3rd week he was fully on the natural train! He told me "I really think you can do this!" The class was great and I really loved how we bonded with the other couples!! Lorraine was our doula also and it was a great experience. From our interview to when our sweet baby girl came Lorraine was at our disposal. She kept me calm and focused during my birthing time/labor and at the end I faced some complications... Lorraine gave me the lowdown on what was going on and let me know that it was crunch time! Looking back it really was the perfect pep talk... I pushed the baby out in 3 contractions!! And believe it or not I was up and walking around 30 mins later! My husband looked more jacked up than I did, lol. I had such a positive experience with Lorraine on top of a great birthing experience. I would do everything all over again in a heartbeat!

There are so many things i can say in praise of Laura! She proved to be both deeply knowledgeable on any and every topic that came up during our pregnancy-- yet she also possesses a deeply intuitive character-- this at times was more helpful to our expecting family. And further, if she ever felt she needed more time to investigate something, she did not put us on or hesitate to acknowledge she needed to look further into something-- such a trait, for my family, goes and went a long way. During our labor, Laura was a perfect blend of hands on and off. Birth can be nerve wrecking, and there were times that i appreciated her just being with us. Yet birth, at least for me, was/is also very private, and it was meaningful that she could give my husband and i space to just go through what we were going through together. Laura is a sweet and wise soul. She has a wonderful sense of humor and a kind and patient energy. She worked with us, rather than above us, as some doctors or other midwives, and professionals can make you feel disassociated from your own experience.. She gave us the confidence that all humans are posesssed with to birth, yet the extended strength of her own heart and story, which made us feel immensely supported. She shares her vast knowledge with her clients with a gentle confidence. I needed to feel confident in my care providers as a new mom and I needed her to be kind and patient as I asked my many questions. She was able to make me feel so cared for and confident in my decision to have a home birth. Not only is Laura informed in the areas or pregnancy, labor and delivery, she possesses a vast knowledge of nutrition, natural medicine and preventative health care. She went above and beyond her duties to make sure my family and I had the best health my pregnancies. I use what she has taught me in our everyday lives today and we are healthier for it! During labor her presence is nurturing and calming and she makes you feel like you can do it! Her confidence in you makes you confident in yourself. She also has a great sense of humor which comes in handy when in such an intense situation as birth! She possesses the art of the ninja-midwife...there when you need her but in stealth mode when you need your space. You feel completely cared for and taken care of through the whole process of your pregnancy and birth as well as postpartum...which can be a difficult time of adjustment for a new mom. She was always available to answer any question and would visit me more than what was the standard amount of visits because that's what I needed. With midwifery, and with Laura specifically, your care will be leaps and bounds above what it wold be in a hospital. Laura is like family and will forever be intertwined with the memories I have bringing my children into the world. My birth experiences were the two best things to have happened to me.
