After suffering from back spasms for a week, I decided to try acupuncture for the first time. I was recommended Dr. Hoang by a friend and gave it a shot. Naturally, I am not happy with needles but Dr. Hoang's gentle touch made the experience seem more like a spa treatment than a scary experience. My back pain and spasms disappeared after only 2 sessions. I make it a point to keep up with my preventative maintenance by going twice monthly now. My fertility journey started in 2020 when my obgyn told me the reason I wasnt getting pregnant easily is because I had very low AMH, at the time I was already 38 years old. She recommended seeing a fertility specialist. In 2021 I began going to the fertility specialist and we decided IVF was my best option as they also found that I had endometriosis and adyomyosis. Fast forward to end of 2023, 4 egg retrievals later with only 2 viable embryos, we decided to try to transfer 1 of them. To our disappointment the transfer failed and we were heartbroken. I knew I needed more support. In February of 2024 I searched on yelp for eastern medicine doctors and I discovered Dr. Thieny Hoang. She had a very extensive question-are that I filled out and was able to meet with her for a consultation. She took the time to thoroughly listen and speak with me. I remember I started to cry because it was the first time I had ever felt heard in this way. Dr. Thieny then gave me an acupuncture treatment and she told me she would send me a treatment plan to review and to let her know if I wanted to go forward with her treatments, which included custom herbal teas, electroacupuncture, cupping, acupuncture and extensive diet recommendations made for me. I felt so good about the plan she built for me. I decided to go forward with her plan for me which was to help support and get my body ready for our precious last viable embryo transfer. During these months of treatment I made some shifts in my diet, lifestyle habits following her recommendations and I never felt better! My endometriosis pain subsided immensely, it was incredible. I felt so much more confident about approaching the next transfer, mentally and physically. In June of 2024 Dr.Thieny said I was ready. So I scheduled my embryo transfer for July, and it is now August...and Im 7 weeks pregnant!! My husband and I are so beyond happy and I know this wouldnt be possible without Dr.Thieny's treatment and support. Not only is she so well versed in Eastern Medicine but she is also just a ray of sunshine and a beautiful soul inside and out. I'm not one for hyperbole, but Thieny is a miracle worker. I wish I knew of her practice as I suffered through a frozen shoulder, because she managed to cure a recurring flare up of my shoulder issue in two visits, whereas no practitioners of western medicine could do anything but prescribe pills and recommend surgery. The focus is holistic medicine, but Thieny is able to hone in on whatever ails you, and attack/treat it with absolute precision. I have been receiving acupuncture treatments for over 25 years and have had the privilege of being treated by many different practitioners. Recently when I experienced acute lower back pain, I had the amazing good fortune of being treated by Thieny Hoang. To say that Thieny is an acupuncturist or massage therapist would be true, but in fact Thieny has so many talents related to the healing arts, that simple labels don't do justice to her practice. Normally when I experience back pain, rest and patience are all I need to get better. My experience with Thien Lake Wellness has been exactly what I've needed throughout my prenatal experience and postnatal recovery. I have always had lower back and shoulder issues and my pregnancy aggravated some of those parts of my body, and after giving birth, some of those aches have stuck around. Every visit with Thieny has allowed me to talk to her about my body, my current stresses/struggles and my general well-being. We start our sessions with Thieny reading my heart beat and tongue (Traditional Chinese Medicine uses the tongue as a sort of map of the body) and a conversation about how my body is feeling. Then Thieny suggests a focused treatment which may include Tui Na massage and stretching, cupping, accupressure, etc. I like how involved I am in deciding my treatment, I feel like I'm learning about my own health and treatment. I have been going to Thien Lake Wellness for less than a year and I definitely feel improvements in the way my body feels and even in the way I move. While I can't exactly explain what Tui Na massage actually is, I can say that it has helped relieve tension in my shoulders (i sit at a computer all day) and helped my lower back issues. There is also something magically relaxing about the treatment and once I woke up feeling like I had the best sleep ever! I've been getting body work/massages for years but there is something more intentional about working with Thieny because she is excellent at checking in and providing helpful feedback about how to improve my day-to-day habits that contribute to stress. Thieny is a light worker; i felt her energy as she worked on my body. I went to see her for (rotary cuff issues) but she treated my concerns holistically. She was kind and warm upon arrival and i liked how clean and inviting her space was. I haven't had any relief from my right shoulder in years; there's always a dull ache there, kind of like toothache. Thieny spoke with me and asked good questions. She was patient and genuinely interested. I felt like she had a file in her mind and was sifting through knowledge to pull out a document that would help me, specifically. Although she hadn't worked on me before, i felt very comfortable with her. I was with her for 90 mins and it was a fascinating journey - i really went there! All i knew about Tui Na was that it was a medical massage, thats a really crude way of putting it. Thieny worked on my rotary cuff, shoulders, hips and muscles that were compensating for very poor flexibility and stiffness. The time flew by and i really must return. For wellness and longevity - i need this treatment on a regular basis. And Thieny was affordable and great quality. I highly recommend her; good doctors are hard to find. read more

Thieny is an amazing healer! I first saw her when I was having left upper back and scapula pain. Her super thoughtful and thorough Treatment Plan, advice, acupuncture, and gentle encouragement helped me experience relief. Then, as my health concerns turned to insomnia and irregular sleep, her acupuncture treatments continued to give me much needed deep sleep and regeneration. I would actually start to dream during the acupuncture session! And most recently, I have been going through a healing crisis. After clearing up a food allergy-triggered eczema flare with juicing and primarily eating raw fruits and veggies, my body dislodged and unlocked a bunch of deep congestion in the form of cystic acne. Having dry skin, I've never had acne, so after eating such healthy food, I could only interpret this as an accidental launch of a healing crisis. The pus was very hard, dark and difficult to dissolve or squeeze out (sorry, I'm a popper). But after one session with Thieny doing a lymphatic body massage, the pus immediately became watery and very easy to squeeze out! It was amazing and so relieving!
