Well, let me start by saying OMG Jenny, you are awesome, sweet and a genius and Lucy you are the sweetest!!!!!! Like I believe a lot of women with long, nice hair, I've been debating where to get a haircut because I'm extremely picky about my hair and not everyone touches it. I've been here in Alexandria for 5 years and and since I moved here, I couldn't let go of my stylist in Orlando, FL (I used to go there every year to get it cut), who is the only person I trusted my hair until today... I'm Puertorrican, I have curly hair so I relax it, it was down to my waist and I wanted to have a blunt, simple cut to even it out and most importantly, to get the cut dry to make sure I got it the length I wanted it. I did my research for a month because it was time for my haircut and I couldn't go to Orlando this time so I needed someone I could trust. Every single hair salon from Alexandria all the way to Tysons Corner and Reston, had awful reviews. The ONLY and whoever reads this, read well- the ONLY salon that didn't have bad reviews was Classic Look. The moment Jenny saw me it was like, I think, an epiphany to her. I started explaining to her what I was looking for and told her about my fears but the moment she started talking to me, it was like she was reading my mind before I said anything to her!!!!! It was so surreal!!!! She understood so perfectly what I wanted and she was like getting the words out of my mouth. Let me say, I was so nervous about not being able to go to my previous stylist that I had a really bad headache the moment I walked thru the door, but, by the time Jenny started talking to me, the headache slowly started to fade away. Believe it or not, that how it was. I sat on the chair and Jenny kept talking to me, reassuring me that it was going to be ok and I knew because all I wanted to tell her about my hair, she got ahead and confirmed it. It was such a relief. My hair was very long so at some point I had to stand up so she could even it out perfectly since I had the front shorter and the back longer. All the time she kept me comfortable and telling me not to fear of anything. By the time she was done, my headache was gone and she did exactly what I was expecting and better. She is very professional, she knows hair, she won't go crazy with the scissors on you, she knows what she's doing and most importantly, SHE LISTENS. I couldn't stop thanking her for being able to get done what apparently, most hairstylists in the northern VA area can't accomplish... Have a client to trust her and have a happy result. To all the women that are looking for a trim or a haircut and are stressed, nervous, afraid, horrified, terrified, not being able to trust and let go, that you will get your hair exactly the way you want it, please, go to Jenny with your eyes closed. I went to Classic Look today for my eyebrow wax. My eye brows are a little tricky to do (due to bad technicians over the last few years) and Jenny did a great job. She took the time to show me different styles and explained to me in detail how they would look on my particular face shape. Her customer service was amazing and I really appreciate her fitting me in today. The only reason why I gave 4 out of 5 instead of 5 out of 5 stars is because she did not clean off the wax after she finished my eyebrows and my skin was left sticky. Other than that, I had a great experience. However, I think i'll continue looking for a new eyebrow technician. read more

If you look at my review of Snips for Hair, you will read my tale of a horribly botched eyebrow wax. As soon as I had left Snips, I dialed Classic Look in hopes that Jenny was in. She is a lifesaver and helped me by showing me how to disguise the botched eyebrow wax I'd received at Snips and then Lucy gave me my very first manicure and I got french tips. I've been going to Jenny for years at Classic Look and she has done a great job with my eyebrows each and every time. They also do the threading technique here. I wasn't a big fan, but some people prefer it to waxing. Jenny is full of warmth and help her customers out when they're in a jam. From this point on when I am back home in Northern Virginia, I will never go to another place to get my eyebrows waxed or to get my nails done. So, I'm a guy. Decided that the usual Hair Cuttery haircuts just weren't cutting it for me. I'm in my mid 20s, I've got a full-time job... I should take myself for a big boy haircut. I went searching for a salon near my house and it doesn't get much closer than just across the street. Small space since it's pretty much in an office complex. I called Friday afternoon and set up an appointment for Saturday morning, which surprised me considering I thought it'd be near impossible to get an appointment for Saturday. Homa (I think was her name?) was wonderful. I showed her a picture of what I was kind of looking for and she talked me through it. Really pleasant experience all around. Will definitely be scheduling another appointment in 5-6 weeks. PS - How freaking awesome is it that they each have iPads with credit card swiper attachments. It's the little things. read more

I've been visiting Jenny since earlier this year (2008) on the recommendation of a friend, coworker, old neighbor, Lisa. I've never had a bad experience with my waxing. She's great at shaping eyebrows and does a beautiful job. So much so that, even though I've moved way out on 66, I still make visits! P.S. Jenny also does eyelash & eyebrow coloring. She noticed my issues with allergies & therefore undereye darkness & suggested that I try an eyelash tint for free the next time I visited. I took her up on the complimentary offer & it looked great. Seven years later we've finally come back and I was so excited that Jenny could do my hair again. She does an outstanding job on my color and cut. A little gray always popped out when other people did my hair, but not with Jenny. The color still looked great until my next appt., minus the new growth of course (bad on me, 2+ months later). Jenny is the greatest!! After moving here 7 months ago from NY, I was having a hard time finding someone to cut my short curly hair even slightly decently. Jenny saw me on a Sunday morning. She took 10 minutes just looking at my hair and asking me about it and the troubles I was having with it. I first went to Classic Look for eyelash tinting. Jenny is the best! She really cares for her clients. I went back for eyebrow tattoo. Jenny recommends doing this in 3 phases and this is why it REALLY works! First time is just a little - lets you know how much thicker and darker you want them. 2nd time is perfect eyebrows! I have not had the 3rd treatment yet (she suggests waiting at least 3 months for final). I LOVE, LOVE my eyebrows! Now I see Jenny for my hair cuts and color! She is an expert on color also.
