The Pedal & Punch class at Classic Bicicletta is great! I really enjoy the combination class. Getting a full body workout in a clean and friendly environment is perfect. I will be going back. read more

The "Pedal & Punch" workout at 10:30 a.m. Sundays is a crazy-fun 50-minute class for your arms, core and legs. It starts with 30 minutes of high-energy cycling, followed by 15 minutes of hitting the bag, then a cool-down and stretch. You'll be exhausted but exhilarated by the end. Mango (Zhalika) is a rock-star instructor -- she's encouraging and supportive, and she'll get the best out of you. The multi-class packages are a solid deal. read more

The best!! I am addicted to this place! I always leave dripping in sweat and feeling accomplished. Mauricio is a true champion and really focuses on kickboxing techniques. The staff is great, the music is great, and I really love the vintage look of the place. I also highly recommend the classic bicicletta (cycling), ride to the bag class! Mango is awesome! read more

Mauricio is super awesome! Great instructor, great personality, kind and easy going. His gym is always perfectly clean. He is so easy to learn from, he always makes his class great and fun. I learned good forms and techniques from him and he is always ready to help. he walks around the class and make sure that we are all using our right forms and give us great instructions on how to improve our techniques. He always talks about cleanliness which we are all so glad. My friends and I all love how clean and fresh his gym is. He makes sure that his gym is always kept clean so that it is fair to everyone who comes work out and we are all able to enjoy a clean and fresh workout at this boxing sanctuary. We are all so glad and happy every time we work out at his gym. It is always a great and rewarding workout, EVERY TIME!!! Thank you for being such a great instructor and thank you for putting your studies needs for a fresh and safe place your top propriety. read more

The pedal and punch classes are wonderful! Enthusiastic teachers and pumped up music helps get through the burning of your legs. The boxing drills at the end of the class make you feel like you are getting a full body work out. Excellent workout!!!! read more

I train in a few different gyms and this is the absolute best!! The gym is gorgeous and the staff is warm and helpful. Mauricio, the owner, is beyond awesome and he has some of the best trainers in the country working at his gym. Whether you are looking for a class setting or a private lesson, you will learn so much. They have a great menu offering a variety of classes at different price points. It so convenient. Great vibe. read more

I have been coming to Classic Kickboxing for a little over 5 months and love it! Mauricio and his team are the best. They are so dedicated to every student making sure they are reaching their goals and becoming a better fighter with each class. This is not only a workout but as I call it - therapy. I not only feel better about myself but I'm a happier person because of Classic Kickboxing. So happy my friend recommended this to me. read more

I have been taking classes at Classic Kickboxing for over 4 years. They offer a truly effective workout, both from a cardio and body sculpting standpoint. Mauricio and his expert instructors are terrific; they teach in a way that gives both the novice and seasoned student challenging sessions. Also, they offer specialized classes should you seek to sharpen particular skills like speciality kicks, etc. I have done the gym thing, the wacky boot camp programs and all that stuff, and I can say without hesitation, that Classic Kickboxing offers one of the best fitness propositions out there. read more

This review is long overdue. Classic Kickboxing is absolutely amazing!! You are guaranteed to get an incredible work-out, but more importantly, the instructors help you improve your technique. From my very first day, I felt very welcomed. The staff and instructors are kind and patient (even with teaching me how to wrap my hands for the 5th time). The parking is easy, with plenty of meters right outside the facility but also a 90-minute free lot within walking distance. The gym is extremely clean and spacious. My favorite instructor is Mauricio. His classes are very hard, so you are guaranteed to get a great work-out. I can feel myself getting stronger and more trim after each work-out. He motivates you to improve your form and push yourself. If I could come here every single day, I would! read more

Great workout! Phoebe and Mauricio are really great. Really clean gym and terrific facilities

YES!!! I've frequented so many workout joints and this place was amazing. And hard in the best way. Mauricio really keeps an eye on you and offers a lot of private feedback during the class. If I can lift my arms or walk tomorrow, it'll be a miracle. Bought a 10-pack class series. :) read more

Least favorite kickboxing gym I've ever been to. Pretty good workout but the classes are all the exact same, so a bit boring. And they're super beginner so even if you are a beginner you'll be bored after a couple classes. read more

The best boxing gym in the Los Angeles area. Studio is clean, instructors are professionals and the general clientele/community is very welcoming. Mauricio is the best! read more

I took the 9:00 am class earlier today, and I had one of the best workouts ever. I already want to cancel my membership at 24hour fitness and come here on the regular. Turbo Kick at 24HF is a joke compared to this place. The girl at the front desk, Phoebe was very nice in showing me around and giving me more information. Mauricio, the instructor, was very friendly and very encouraging. I'm a big fan of instructors that focus on technique, which he certainly does. Last night, I went to a kickboxing gym in Eagle Rock to check it out, and I was not at all impressed -- it was dirty, not many people, not a great environment. BUT HERE AT CLASSIC KICKBOXING, I found it to be exceptionally clean and everyone is nice and helpful. I'm definitely coming back and purchasing a membership (I did today's class as a first-time drop in, which they offer for free), and I would highly recommend going here above anywhere else. read more

Classic Kickboxing is the best gym, not just in Pasadena, but everywhere I've been (I have recently moved from SoCal and I miss this gym immensely). I initially went there in 2010 because the gym I was at previously had classes that were not intense enough for me. The main instructor, Mauricio is enthusiastic, respectful, instructional, and fun. I went to the bootcamp class about three times a week, and it was better than any 1 hour class I've ever taken. It is incredibly satisfying, both mentally and physically to kickbox here. The people who participate in the classes are also friendly, and if you stay long enough, it feel like a family. People smile, check in with you, its nice. On a side note, I also train for races (running, triathlons) from time to time, and this is an awesome cross training activity. I realize for a lot of people having a gym membership is expense, but this gym is well worth the investment. If you've never tried kickboxing before and you need a fun class environment to get your exercise on, I recommend it!!!!! read more

I love Classic Kickboxing! I've been coming to bootcamp classes here for about 3 years now and I can say that every class I've ever taken has been a challenge. Every class is a full body workout, with a warm up at the beginning, working through different combinations on the bag, and cooling down with ab work and stretches at the end. Mauricio the owner is so nice and really tries to make everyone feel comfortable working out here, whether you are new to the gym or have been going for years. I can only go about once or twice a week, so I buy the 10-pack of classes, which works great for my schedule. If you are looking for a fun, tough, full body workout, this is your place! read more

I wish there were more than 5 stars! My 15 yr old daughter Ava was looking for a gym to learn some fighting skills so we toured all the local gyms. As soon as we walked up the creaky wood stairs and met Mauricio we were hooked. Mauricio has created an extremely open environment for all skill levels to flourish in. My daughter had never fought so we started with the boot camps and slowly progressed to Elite where now she trains with BM, Mauricio, Vincente, and Claudia 5-6 times a week. She has participated in one 'smoker' and just had her second spar with a fighter from another gym. BM is her main coach as she is focusing on Muay Thai. We feel like we have won the lotto with the opportunity to learn, train, and now compete with this world class fighter! He has been reaching out to other gyms and fighters to broaden Ava's experience. We look forward to many more fights as it is clear these guys are tapped into the much larger, serious fighting world out there. Classic is unique in that if you choose to go deep into training and competing they will have the support and guidance you need and if you just want to get a killer workout and learn some basic skills you can do that as well. However you choose to use the gym I guarantee a good time! Myself, my wife, and both my daughters now consider the gym a second home. We love all the people involved and environment Mauricio has created. Everyone on the staff has integrity and an amazing committed approach to being a part of the Classic Kickboxing gym experience. Don't hesitate walking up those creaky stairs. You will be greeted with a smile and an opportunity to a tough, unique workout experience in one of the coolest looking gyms with the best staff in the country!! Martin Whist. read more

This place kicks ass. And I mean that in the most literal sense. The kickboxing cardio classes are so awesome I haven't missed one in months! But do beware, they basically sort of throw you into the fire so be prepared for the workout of your life. I missed work the next day after my first workout. I couldn't lift myself out of bed! read more

I have too much to say about this place. It is honestly the best work out experience I've had, and it was the perfect transition to a new sport/fitness routine after I quit soccer upon graduating high school. It's a fast-paced, technically-strong way to get fit and learn the basics of kickboxing, and it's genuinely so much fun!! Mauricio is so kind and creates such an empowering, safe space for the many girls and women who go to this gym, and Phoebe and Eddie are wonderful, too! I can't recommend going enough!! read more

My girlfriend and I have been going to Classic Kickboxing in Pasadena for the last year. The gym is clean and the equipment is in good condition. The classes look fun but we haven't taken one. Instead we have private boxing lessons from Mauricio, the owner of the gym. He is a great teacher, really patient and works well with all types of people. We were beginners when we started and our boxing has improved dramatically, the workouts are really intense and we have a lot of fun. I couldn't recommend them more. read more

Classic Kickboxing is my favorite workout of all time! I have been hooked since my first class! I have learned and progressed in the fundamentals of kickboxing while toning and building lean muscle. The gym is extremely well kept and clean with an inviting and encouraging atmosphere. The owner and instructor, Mauricio is extremely welcoming and attentive to all of his clients. He maintains a safe and respectful environment at his gym which is hard to come by these days. Hands down my favorite instructor and the best way to work up a sweat! read more

Mauricio gives simple directions and plays good music. You know, the kind that has beats, which I use to pace myself and to have fun. Some of his songs are good angry music, the kind that makes you not care about anyone else in the room and you can go crazy letting out your beast! I bought pink gloves from his gym, too $40, great quality from Everlast. He has lots of big bags hanging from the walls, which are kept in good condition partly due to all the students wiping them down after class. Everyone is really nice at the studio, they are all here for the same reason: to get a freakin great workout. I'm always drenched in sweat! I've only taken a few classes so far, but I have noticed that my balance is better because I'm constantly trying to keep my abs engaged whenever I throw punches/kicks, and my endurance increased simply because it is hard!! I know you're like, what? you can tell just after a few classes? YES because I am a long time aerobics geek and I noticed how much further I could push myself. But Mauricio never pushes you, you go at your own pace. You wont feel intimidated in his classes! :) JUMP-KICK!! read more

This is an amazing new workout! I have taken spin classes at Equinox for over 10 years and have also taken classes at SoulCycle and Studio Metamorphosis. However, the Pedal and Punch class at Classic Bicicletta is the best cycling class I have ever taken. Other cycling classes cram too many people into a super dark room or have them compete against each other in class or the instructors appear more like DJs than cyclists. The cycling studio at Classic Bicicletta is open with plenty of room and natural light and it is super clean. The instructors are motivating and the music is great. They did a great job hiring very experienced instructors. The workout is challenging, but can be modified for all levels. Newbies should not be afraid to try it and serious cyclists will not be disappointed either. After about a 35 minute ride, you feel like you got a great workout and are ready to go home, but then you hit the punching bags and that is when you truly realize how strong you are. The instructors are right there with you encouraging you to give it your all for the last 15 minutes of class. It is really great to get that intense upper body workout after cycling. The punching portion is also not just randomly smacking the bag. The instructors are teaching you proper boxing technique. Within a few classes, you will find that your punch gets stronger and more precise. The 5-minute core work at the very end is also nice. I always leave class feeling stronger and more energized than when I walked in. If you are looking for a fun and challenging workout that is really going to make you feel not only physically stronger, but also mentally stronger this is definitely the class. read more

Literally the greatest studio ever! I started monday of this week and have been going every single day since! Mauricio is super cool and makes each class fun. The girls at the front desk are so welcoming and sweet, and the location is great too. 10/10 would recommend ! read more

I had one of the most intense, challenging, and incredibly fun workouts I've ever had at Classic Kickboxing and already cannot wait to come back! I've began working out regularly about a month ago and have been trying to figure out what workout suits me best and have been trying to figure out which boxing gym to try. I went with Classic because of the reputation, the location, and because the gym looked beautiful. It did not disappoint and the clean floors and equipment made me feel at ease right away. Mauricio is friendly and attentive and makes sure everyone in the class is feeling well and performing to the best of their abilities. I love the one on one attention without being micromanaged and the positive reinforcement. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

Classic Kickboxing is friendly studio with excellent teachers, namely Mauricio, a boxing champion. It is a very boutique-like studio withe people of all different levels, so don't be shy if you've never done it before! I've been coming here for years, and I'm never disappointed. Try it to see what I mean! read more

I must have a lot of built up anger because I have finally found a workout that I am so excited to go to every time I head there in the car. Classic Kickboxing is, most importantly, really fun! When I am stressed (which is quite often, being that I am in grad school), punching that bag is my savior. What keeps me motivated in class is the great music the instructor plays and how great I feel after. Its also extremely clean which is so important for a gym where people are dripping with sweat by the end of each class. The atmosphere is really neat too, the gym is on the top floor of an old brick building and when you're up there, you feel like your in a movie. I don't normally write reviews but I felt compelled to give a shout out to this place because it really is great! read more

I have been training at Classic Kickboxing for almost two months and I love it. I appreciate the fact that they allow individuals to pair up to take private training sessions. Since I am graduate student on a tight budget I really appreciate this. Myself and my friend train with Rafel (AKA: The Terminator). He is fantastic, precise and knows what he is doing. Myself and my training partner have seen quick results. Additionally, we take group classes, they are so much fun and challenging. This studio is clean in comparison to other places that I initially checked out in Pasadena. I highly recommend classic kickboxing i f you want to see quick results, get your money's worth and meet some really sweet people. The owner Maurcio is also very friendly and loves to play jokes. read more

It is very sad to see that 12 year record end like this. You mention many private exchanges and an expeditious resolution. I don't know what your staff has told you about these 'many private exchanges', I have the copies of those 'many private exchanges' which are ONLY TWO, is that many? The first one was to tell me that since I had called to complain about unauthorized charges for 5 months they were not going to charge me anymore, how nice. The second one was to tell me about the policy and pretty much telling me no refunds were due, is that the expeditious resolution? It is if it benefits you. After 12 years I think you should ask yourself how comfortable you feel keeping money you know you didn't earn, and then trying to mislead Yelp readers saying that you have tried many times to fix this situation and brought an expeditious resolution. Wow. Please! To all Yelp readers, the moment Classic Kickboxing brings a real resolution I will update my comment and agree with them that they have a great 12 year track record and stop complaining about being charged $1000 for not getting anything out of it after finishing my contractual one year agreement even though I wasn't going anymore. read more

this might be my favorite workout in pasadena. i come here for the kickboxing boot camp through classpass, but will likely buy extra classes because i love it so much! i'm so addicted i already bought my own gloves and wraps. i leave with a beet red face, drenched in sweat, and feeling like a total badass. the warm-up is challenging and no-nonsense, the bag work is varied, cardio-strenuous, and a great stress reliever, and every class ends with a good ab workout and thorough stretching. everyone here--from the trainers to the ladies at the front desk--is welcoming, professional, unpretentious, and committed to giving you a (safe) total body workout in an hour. i also like the general diversity of the people working out, everyone from teenagers to older folks. this is an amazing workout for everyone at any level of fitness. added points for the classic space with its brick walls and old school gym vibes. read more
