We love Classic Cycle! We were riding to Bainbridge from Kingston and my husband got a flat on his ebike. Thankfully, we were a 1.5 mile walk from Classic Cycle. He helped us out immediately, got my husband's bike back in working order and we were on our way! Really appreciate his quick help and support - and we loved meeting shop cat Tulio, too. Thank you!

Super cool rebuilt bikes, and more!

This is the coolest bike shop I've ever been to. Lots of history on the walls, retro vibe, and very chill/friendly staff. I have a Townie bike that needed a new crank, only way to replace it was to go into Seattle (which I did not want to do!), but this shop found a solution and at a bargain price. So thankful!!

Spend the time to appreciate the wall exhibits. You may learn a thing or two about cycling history.

All those 5-star reviews below about Classic Cycle are legit! I live in Silverdale but drove to Bainbridge Island because of the reviews alone. We went to CC exactly two weeks ago with open minds. We left an hour later with a road bike purchase and an incredibly enjoyable learning experience with Aaron. We never tried to hide the fact that I was a casual cyclist, and Aaron never made any assumptions of my needs. He asked a few specific questions about my lifestyle and what I'd enjoy doing most with a bike. He listened attentively and then went to town. I really enjoyed listening to Aaron as he explained and described different parts of a bike as well as their functions. It was really neat to learn so much from an obviously experienced cyclist who had absolutely no airs about him. And his sense of humor was utterly wicked! After he got a good feel of my budget constraints, Aaron showed me a road bike by Trek, and urged me to test ride it as long as I needed. I was never hurried into a decision. Aaron was patient and professional to a fault, giving me very helpful suggestions as he studied my form while I rode round and round the square outside CC. After a few more turns around the square with a smaller-frame bike, we finally found the right size for me. Because of the Fourth of July weekend, my bike would take a few extra days to deliver to the shop and I was cool with that. I picked up my bike a couple of hours ago, and got to meet the other folks who work at CC. Jaime was really nice and apologetic when we had to wait a few minutes (the shop is busy for good reason!). When I told her I needed to look at helmets, she gave me the lay of the land and explained how I'd know if a helmet would be a good fit for my noggin (side note: I learned just how big my noggin actually was. Woah.). Gavin took his time to fit my bike correctly as well as gave easy-to-follow instructions for cycling form, gear changing, and tire pressure maintenance. Good grief, is everyone just super humble, knowledgeable and sweet at Classic Cycle?! Thank you, Classic Cycle, for a well-rounded and satisfying experience! I love my Trek Lexa and am so glad I went to see you guys first!

I bought my bike there, but I wouldn't do it again. Try B-I-Cycle instead. They're much more personable and less snooty.

If, however, you have a questionably overpowered long-tail cargo bike running a custom Bafang BBSHD mid-drive setup that may or may not have been engineered during a caffeine-fueled "more capability and power is always a good idea" phase... these are your people. I rolled in with what can only be described as a mechanical riddle wrapped in an enigma of wiring harnesses and torque sensors. My Bafang BBSHD setup had become inhabited by a small tribe of mean spirited electrical gremlins. I'm capable with bike mechanics, but this had gotten over my head - I was bracing for a massive bill (maybe significant part replacements). Instead, the team at Alki Bike & Board just... handled it. Calmly. Confidently. No drama. No upsell. Just pure competence. The bill was less than 1/10 what I had expected. This crew is overseen by a guy called Dayton - I'm not sure if he is more Thor or Hercules. On one hand, he seems like he could summon lightning directly into a mid-drive motor. On the other hand, he has the calm, slightly amused strength of someone who has already defeated twelve labors involving stripped bolts and cross-threaded bottom brackets. Either way, the man is operating on a different plane. He diagnosed the issues quickly, explained everything in plain English (instead of "mystical bike wizard dialect"), and fixed the whole situation for a small fraction of what I was mentally preparing to pay. I didn't believe him when he told me. Bottom line: Extremely knowledgeable Honest pricing No ego, no attitude Dayton = certified bike demi-god If you are near West Seattle and your bike needs anything beyond a gentle pat on the saddle, this is the spot. 10/10. Will bring my mechanical chaos machine back henceforth!
