WE HAD SO MUCH FUN! Tourist trap? Maybe.... but who cares! They almost always have a buy one hour, get one free, so for under $20 you have a few hours of fun. We rode down to the ferry entrance, grabbed a snow cone, and headed back. I think we clocked in about 8 miles total because these suckers go super slow, but we seriously could not stop cracking up. My friends and I rented tandem bikes from Wheel Fun to ride along Alki. However, only ~10 minutes into our bike ride, the front left pedal suddenly fell off the bike. It was challenging and dangerous to stop and dismount the bike with a missing pedal. We realized the screw holding the pedal fell out, and noticed the screw was a different color from the bike, suggesting this has previously been an issue and the original screw had been replaced. We walked the tandem bike back to the shop, and the two girls working the stand accused us multiple times of hitting something or damaging the bike ourselves. They grossly mishandled the situation by being accusatory, particularly in this case where the shop's negligence presented a serious safety hazard. After some back and forth, we did end up receiving a refund for one bike rental. read more

Garbage business. I accidentally left my license there during our bike rental is is required. Tried to pick it up the next day... they're closed everyday except weekends. Nobody picks up the phone. Nobody returns messages. Waited till next weekend and now they don't even have my license. Lost my license for no go reason; this place is grossly mismanaged and incompetent. EDIT: Tim the "business" owner below actually has no idea what he's talking about because someone else from his business called me days later and now they magically have my ID. Train your employees better Tim and stop blaming your customers for your employees' screw ups. read more

I had a fantastic time with my family here this summer, including my 3-year-old niece! The rental process was quick and easy, and the staff were very helpful answering our questions and getting us set up. Once you're on, you ride down the sidewalk of the main Alki strip, which has a really great view of the city. There's not really any other activity in Seattle quite like riding a Surrey bike by the beach. I would highly recommend the experience if you've got an active crew and want to try something new! It's in the heart of that Alki strip too, so after our ride we had an easy walk to get ice cream and go to the beach. read more

My friend and I rented bikes for the first time this past weekend. It was so fun!! Alki is a beautiful place to go. And seeing everyone else out and about enjoying the sun is charming. I only wish their was a discount for multiple hours. Such as 2nd hour 1/2 or such. I know they have a coupon for 2nd free free from 10-1 but I would love to ride bikes later in the day too. $12 per hour can add up. Next time I hope to come back with more friends to try the surrey (I also called them carts because I didn't know their name ahah). Those look adorable and fun! read more

My friends and I were going for a walk along the beach in Seattle, but we were pressed for time. We wanted to get in as much as possible and so we decided to get a set of wheels. We stop by and rented the three-seater one and we had so much fun. They're pretty hard to steer but you get a a lot of good laughs in the process nevermind a great workout. You also get to cover a lot of ground in a shorter time than walking. The sales person was not the most animated, but we got what we needed without incident and brought it back in good time. read more

Came here last week my husband. what a fun little date idea. it was only 25 bucks to rent it for the hour and you can rent it for more if you like but trust me an hour is plenty. we could park the bike along alki a little snack. my little complaint was oil the bikes please. it was super squeaky and annoying the whole time but what a fun idea definitely would do it again. Surely the Surrey is the Hit among all. Great for family with kids. We rented two of Double Surrey (7 Adults and 3 Kids), it was just perfect. We kept racing each other and kids were ringing the bell all along. The price is fair and we also got 50% discount, i.e pay for 1 our and use for 2 hours, but we could not do for more than one hour, got hungry and tired. read more

So much fun, and its great price for an hour. There is a 3min parking next to the rental shop for drop off. Because parking is hard to find, if you like to drop someone off to get the bike to paddle to where you park your car, it would be a good idea. It wasnt hard to ride the bike on Alki sidewalk, people is very respectful and moves. This is a nice way to get around the whole Alki coast line. read more

My little home skillet and I rented a couple of bikes there. I used their coupon AND they were having two hour rentals for the price of one. We wheeled our way to breezy happiness. Really friendly guys took care of us. We don't really ride bikes in California, because it isn't a 'bike friendly' state, so we were over the moon (which is not made of cheese, after all). Hey! It looks like a perfect day to head over to Alki and try to kill my kid! We wanted to rent the "Surrey," but the daughter's feet couldn't quite reach the pedals. So the daughter and her best friend decided on the "Deuce Coupe" a side-by-side recumbent bike built for two. I got the "Chopper." A recumbent bike for one. Whoa, these sukkas are heavy. The little girls had trouble - lots and lots of it - steering their big beast. But we made it all the way to Salty's. We turned them around (awkwardly). Before I knew what was going on the daughter sped away on my "Chopper." The best friend and I gave chase in the big beast. LOOK OUT! LOOK OUT! LOOK OUT! The daughter thought she heard us approaching from behind and turned to look. Unfortunately she turned the whole bike and went straight off the curb and into traffic. I was screaming "Stomp on the pedal!" because that's how you stop the unstoppable behemoth. But to my horror it just kept rolling... She threw herself off while it was still moving. I did the same and ran after her. Fortunately kind pedestrians happened by who were able to stop the behemoth (took two adults!) and haul it back up and onto the bike lane. Tears - my own and my daughter's - were shed. We had a sober ride back to Wheel Fun. First half was 5-stars all the way. Second half, sorry I gotta dock them a star for making such unwieldy pedally bike thingies. Next outing with the best friend will be a nice safe mani/pedi. read more

Bought three Groupons for this and took five of my friends here to do some bike riding. We got two single surreys and a deuce coupe; we rode for an hour and a half to use up all the money on the Groupon. Needless to say, it was a lot of fun! It's perfect for a daytime date. We had a great time; however, they are not open on cloudy days, even if it's above 60/70 degrees. I'd probably call ahead just in case on an iffy day. The surrey for four-six was kind of hard to ride. That may be because we all have the chubbs, but that was a legitimate workout. read more

Had so much fun cruising alki with the family !!! We rented 2 and were able to fit 2 kids in the front, 3 adults and a lap baby in the front and 3 more adults in the back... We raced each other along the path and had so much fun taking pictures a long the way!! Don't rent, please be warned the bikes are not given maintenance! Horrible experience, one of the bike's pedals (the drivers unfortunately) fell off, went back with the bike and my two daughters from Salty's, let them know about the issue. They just said "Sorry!", didn't do anything else, at least they would've offered to give me another bike or a refund. Recommended them to give the bikes maintenance. read more

WOW. This place is so cool! I didnt realize that its right on the boardwalk and you can ride for miles on any one of the very unique bikes they have to rent. In addition to the regular cruiser bikes, they have some of these funky "surrey" bikes that can sit up to 6 people. GREAT FUN AND A MUST DO! Ask about the second hour free, which makes the price 50% off. For anyone of those who say keep your feet out of the spokes, please people.... these are bikes and if you get your feet stuck in spoke, its your own damn fault. Have fun. read more
