My name is Steve , the day you took over from John L, I went to you before you were even open and spoke with Brian about being a lifelong customer of John's, and wanting to keep relations alive. When you opened, i had my son bring his Subaru cross trek and Brian was the one preformed the body work and repainting and we were very satisfied. My other son and I also have a Durango SRT which we show in competitions. I came back a few weeks ago and spoke with Lindsay as Brian was gone, which was to install and adjust a carbon fiber hood and installing the vents in the hood as well as a carbon fiber trunk wing. I provided phone numbers/ Names of who to call for any questions or issues since this isn't a "everyday thing" shops around here do and in total spent 45 min at your shop going over everything so they're are no issues or problems The vehicle was there for over 1 week and during that time multiple attempts to contact the shop were made to make sure things were moving along and and the only call I received was 2 days before I picked it up to say 3M tape needed to be ordered. The shop phone is NOT monitor and there is always a full voicemailbox. I eventually had to drive over to the shop to ask about it's status and on the day we were instructed to pick it up, when we arrived we were told it was NOT completed and Lindsay was misinformed. The day we actually picked it up, my son went over the car and they're were several issues. The trim from under where the trunk wing spoiler was taken off and left lying in the trunk for whatever reason. I was told they were looking to see if they could drill holes to attach the accessory wing which I'm glad they couldn't because that would've not only destroyed my original wing but the $1,000 carbon fiber wing as well and is NOT how its supposed to be installed as I provided documentation on how to properly install it which involved 3M taped and silicone. It was installed using the 3M tape ONLY. The hood is installed very far forward, the vents were not installed correctly by not having the clips under the fiber layer, and make screw mounting hole elongated, if not aligned. On top of that the packing tape from transportation was never removed and now I have to clean off tape residue. Again no one called tech support to confirmed installation and how it should look. The windshield wiper sprayers had to be relocated into the Cowell, which not reinstalled correctly and now water can get in around arm gasket not making it sealed. When asked about this issues, Lindsay stated she had trouble aligning the drain vents in the cowell, I then asked if she contacted the company for questions to which she replied "no" and that someone watched how to install them on YOUTUBE. In my opinion, as a paying customer who's frequent this shop for 40+ years the treatment and service I received is 100% unacceptable. Prior to leaving your shop I expressed my concerns and frustrations to Lindsay to which I recieved excuses and frustration from her which included "we don't do this" to "I didn't charge you alot because we don't normally do this" and my personal favorite which was "well maybe you should have taken it to a custom shop" To which I say both are inexcusable and completely unprofessional since this was a task she took on and if she felt she couldn't do it she should have stated so. I had very high hopes of bragging about your Shop at the shows and how a local business now has custom experience that would open new venues. Before I left, Lindsay did get to a point where she said she would give me our money back for the issues and frustration. I was hoping this could be rectified and just Fixed. But I have given it serious consideration and I unfortunately can not let this slide. I do not feel secure returning this car there again to have issues rectified. The car has been taken elsewhere to be redone by a shop who has experience which is not local and because of this I would like a refund. I really wish things had turned out better in this situation because not only have you lost local business but a returing local and loyal customer of over 40 years. Thank you. . For this consideration, we will not leave any reviews or talk ill of your business as we understand mistakes were made and an attempt to rectify the situation are yet to be made This was what was sent to the business and They never responded.... The worst body shop, firstly the owner is the most rude person I know, 1 month with my car, only taking money from my insurance, almost 10k and in the end when I went to pick up the car when I got home the car was failing on the radar, when I went to my dealer the radar had not been set correctly I had to pay almost 1500 out of pocket, do not go to this body shop!!!! you will lose money and time! read more

I would not recommend Classic auto body fully. John and is crew is somewhat efficient. Classic auto body had to put a headlight in my 2012 Subaru Legacy. While he had a great idea to pop out the air intake manifold. When you take something off, please put it back, and don't leave it in my back seat. When our car hit a deer this past March, we ended up bringing our family car here. Although this owner has some really good ideas on how to repair the cars he receives, he always tries to work diligently. Although this experience was positive, their have been times in the past when he did end up messing things up even further (because of that, I won't comment on those experiences here), so the owner isn't always perfect! I mean: who else would use a plunger-like device to pull door dents out of car doors fairly quickly without hurting the paint? He always tries to keep costs to a minimum, if the person is paying out of pocket, but does do a great job either way! He tends to never overbill the insurance company nor the recipient, and is always diligent in his work, so you receive your car back fairly quickly and in working shape. Absolutely terrible. I had work done to my back end and the trunk still leaks they scratched up my quarter panel and the trunk looks like crap. There's pits where they didn't sand properly they painted it anyway. Now I have to go to a real shop and pay more than the original cost to have it all fixed read more

Great service! This place is very busy, but extremely efficient! The owner and staff are very nice and knowledgeable.

John always tries to find the most inexpensive solution to get your car repaired. He will recommend repairs that you really need and will let you know if something can just get touchup paint or a dent pulled rather than completely replacing a panel/part. That is your decision as to which way to go. Our family have hit three deer in the past (thank you Dutchess County) and John has done the repairs on all of them. Insurance companies and their inspectors work well with John to get the job done and John does it in a way where your costs can be minimal. We will continue to bring our vehicles to John for our auto body repairs. read more

The local insurance adjusters and parts supplier all seem to trust his integrity insuring disagreements never reach critical mass. Your car will look great when he's finished and his work holds up. What else could anybody want. A high percentage of his customers are repeat customers. Seems like every time I've been there (between taking in my own cars and those of relatives) someone is always dropping off homemade baked goods as further appreciation for his efforts.
