This was an awesome experience with plenty of fun activities, games, bar, pool and of course the axe throwing. Our hostess was detailed and helpful from start to finish. Stuck around for some glow in the dark out out and a few beers. Will definitely go back and would recommend. Must be 18 or older for the axe throwing.

Sarah is great at helping and coaching newcomers to axe throwing! This is our 2nd time here and with her.... We highly recommend this experience!

Targets. You always throw one axe but i felt the need to pose with 2.

We had a fun time. We were not sure what to expect but saw a groupon and decided it would be worth a try. With the groupon it was just under $40 for 90 minutes for the two of us. Not bad. The time went by fast. We started and for the first 25-30 minutes had a little instruction and then we just got to throw and figure things out. We were a party of 2 that merged with a group of 6. We then played variations of axe throwing games of one team of four against the other. We had a blast. The good thing for my wife and I is we can make friends with random strangers. If you are more of an introvert or it scares you tp make new friends you may be better off bringing your own friends. Our final game was a spin off on survivor. Every person for themselves and elimination. I got lucky and won the coveted match. I was crowned and given the title of "lumber lord".

What a fun time!! There was a little hiccup with the location but luckily the Class Axe Throwing wasnt too far. The class is actually located in the warehouse where they create the props for the escape room and haunted house. But being that it was in a warehouse meant it was hot! They had many fans going and luckily the yelp crew had plenty of drinks for us to stay hydrated. When I started telling people that I was going to throw axes they were like, "Whaaaaat?!" Most people immediately thought about safety. Signing a waiver is required. They go over the rules and are very attentive during each person's turn. The Axe-perts also show you form and technique on how to throw the axe properly and skillfully. They let you pick a fun axe nickname and divided us into teams where we played fun games. One game is TIMBER which is like horse for basketball. If a player hits a target then the opposite team gets a letter. Another game is survivor where 2 people go against each other and whoever hits the highest target takes a life of their opponent. And you only get 2 lives. The GM talked about marketing the business to be available to team building and a BYOB event place. Not sure how I feel about BYOB and axes though..... I would like the facility to Add recycle bins because I noticed at our event a lot of soda cans and water bottles could be recycled. Overall a great time was had! I got to throw and axe and I even hit a target! I would recommend this as an activity to try it you do t mind sweating a little but it's worth the fun.

I was incredibly excited to participate in this event, as I got to cross off another one of my bucket list activities - I've always wanted to throw an axe! As always, the setup was great for our experience. I appreciate all the thought and coordination into putting this event together! Note that there's no AC so it's super hot. They did have fans blowing to circulate the air but it was still super hot so wear lightweight clothes and prepare to sweat a bit. Overall, it was a great event and the activity itself was a lot of fun. The primary representative was really nice and helpful! There are some things to consider before going and some things to look out for (or ask for). 90% of your experience will depend on your instructor. For the second game the instructor decided to "mix it up" and randomly pair people against each other but struggled to remember the rotation. Oops. LOL. It wasn't ideal that some got 3 rounds and others only got one but oh well I guess they are still working out the kinks. With that being said, this was a special event and this may not be the typical experience as perhaps we were an usually large group. I noticed that the other two groups' instructors also taught their teams how to throw one handed, while we were only shown the two handed method. It was a lot of fun and I think the instructor in training was helpful and she did a great job trying to keep the other instructor on track. I'd definitely go back but now that I know what to expect I'd make sure I ask to be taught the one handed throw. I'd also recommend to the instructors to allow switching which side the teams throw from after each round. My boyfriend had a chance to throw from both sides (during elimination rounds) and noted that the left side was a lot better (in that the wood grain held the axes better, on the right side the axes often wouldn't stick...). I guess to keep it fair rotating sides each pair's turn would be helpful. Anyway, it was a really cool event and I can't wait to do it again!

Our group had a blast! We went on a Friday night. I believe we spoke to the owner whom was really cool. The gentleman guiding us was fun and educational. We all want to go back again!

We highly enjoyed the axe throwing experience with "Axeton Kutcher". He was personable and gave clear instructions with emphasis on safety. We were able to play a variety of games in the 1.5hrs we were there. We liked that it was BYOB (except for hard liquor) so that we could enjoy our drink of preference while playing. Overall, a fun and unique activity. Would def recommend.

    Waiting to be axed.

This was definitely a one of a kind experience, compared to all of the Yelp events I have had the pleasure of attending. Where else have I had the chance to throw something with a blade? Unless you count my accidentally dropping a butter knife at an event, then I would have to say nowhere . . . that's where. Class Axe Throwing is a first of its kind business here in San Antonio. It helps to fulfill all those lumberjack fantasies some of us have had. Short of having log rolling, pole climbing and other forestry related sports, this is your chance to live out your flannel shirt dream. The business is located in what is basically a non-air conditioned warehouse setting. They do have fans to help cool things off a little, but it is warm, so dress appropriately. The targets are located two to an axe throwing area for one on one competition. You have about 15-20 feet to the target from where you stand. There are instructors to give you information on what you're about to experience, including proper stance and holding of the axe. Our Yelp group was separated into three groups of two competing teams. Each of us had to give ourselves an "axe related" name, by which we were referred. I chose "Bull's Eye". We won't talk about how I didn't quite live up to my name. But there were some very clever axe names, as you might imagine. To begin with we all got practice throws while being given instruction on how to throw the ax by our aptly axe named experts. Our instructor was named "Maxican Ninja". Next came a series of games that tested our newfound, still developing, or not quite there yet skills. We played TIMBER (axe throwing form of HORSE), 30 (points for the whole team), Tic Tac Toe, and finally, Survivor (individual competition). It was a lot of fun, even if there was only a few sticks of the axe. I was only able to get about three sticks out of all my throws, but that's okay. I enjoyed myself. Like a bowling event I attended a long time ago, it was fun just to cheer on my fellow Yelpers. The three competing areas each had a "survivor" from their competitions and were crowned the "Lumberlords". A big congrats to them! A big thank you to Tomas and everyone at Class Axe Throwing for introducing us to a new kind of fun.

Such a great new experience! I was nervous for sure, but with the awesome help of the great instructors, and being cheers on by my teammates it was alot of fun and I eventually started sticking my axe to the board! The games we played in our groups were pretty cool, we all love a little competition. Come with friends and and be ready to sweat, besides the few big fans in there, there isn't a.c. I'd definitely be back. Had a great time!

This was so much fun. From choosing our axe names to learning how to throw them. Played 3 games...TIMBER aka HORSE, tick tack toe and 30. We had some great people on our team. It takes some practice but it is so much fun.

What a unique experience! I had a lot of fun, and even hit two bullseyes! When I arrived at the location, there was a small free parking lot. The entrance is on the side of the building to the right of the parking lot. The location is a warehouse and does not have any air-conditioning, so basically whatever the temperature is outside is what you are going to experience inside. They had some fans going, but unless you stand directly under them, you will get really hot. They had cold drinks for sale - not sure if you are allowed to bring outside food and drink. Definitely keep the temperature in mind when you are planning your outfit. But make sure to wear closed toed shoes! Despite the heat, our axe-perts were great and did their best to make things fun and engaging for us. They provided a lot of tips on how to improve your throw. Right after I got one tip on taking a step back before I threw to gain momentum, my next throw hit the bullseye dead on! Our teams got really competitive as we played various throwing games. The overall winners had the choice of getting a giant "Lumberlord" stamped tattoo, which was a neat momento. It would be fun for a team-building activity for work, but keep in mind that you might get sweaty if the weather is hot, so plan it for the end of the workday. This is a very instagrammable atmosphere and it made for some great Boomerangs and pictures if you want to make all of your friends jealous of your sweet lumberjack skillz.

We arrived at our designated ticket time and walked in through the gift shop. There a staff member showed us to the ticket check in desk. After checking in we stopped at the bar for a little drink to accommodate our interactive gallery. We went with the seasonal adult capri sun and the year round capri sun. The bartender was very friendly and made delicious drinks. Upon arrival I was a little nervous about the experience as some have noted that there aren't many rooms to explore and that it didn't take long for them to go through the gallery. After we finished we can say with confidence that it's worth it. We spend about 55min- 1 hour within the gallery. The staff was friendly, the rooms were fun and interactive, and overall we were really pleased with the atmosphere.

Some were really cool, while others I probably could have skipped. I do think it helps going with friends because it makes the experience more fun and interactive. My favorite was the secret room where you pick up phones and listen to anonymous secrets from other people. That one was pretty unique. I also liked the room with all the changing lights--it looked really cool and was fun to walk through. There's also an area filled with balls that reminded me a bit of Chuck E. Cheese, and another section that's basically a maze made out of clear plexiglass panels. When you first walk in there's a bar, and they also have a gift shop. The bar was really backed up as a think there was only one bartender but she was very friendly. The entry process was easy since I bought my tickets online. Overall, if you go by yourself you could probably get through everything in about 35-40 minutes. It was a fun outing with a group, but personally I'd probably save my money and try something else next time.
