I was greeted pretty soon after I took a seat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and asked if I wanted a food menu. I declined because I already had dinner plans that involved eating the left over ribs that I made for a party the night before. I grossly overestimated how much people would eat. I plan on trying their food another day I ordered a Blue Moon which the bartender did put a orange slice on as it is traditionally served. As I was getting close to finishing my beer, the bartender asked if I wanted another one so I would say the bartender was attentive. I ordered one more and decided to close out. The bill was pretty reasonable for two beers and only came to about 10 dollars maybe closer to 11. I would say this bar has a Dive Bar feel to it. It is very dark inside and I was kind of surprises how bright it was when I walked out. They do have outdoor seating that I might try another time. I recommend this place if you want a cheap drink.

She got me the blackjack chicken, but with the chicken breast fried instead of grilled on the sandwich and then the waffle fries that came with. I tossed everything into the air fryer at our house to heat it up and crisp it. And then the sandwich I added Tabasco sauce to it Having done those things the meal was very good without those things. It was a little bit of the struggle but again I figure that was par for the course with take-home food. That being said, my wife went to Georgia for undergrad and they have the football watch parties here and she was raving about how nice and welcoming. Everybody was both service at this place as well as the other people who put on the Georgia watch parties so I feel like I'm going to suck it up And go not suck it up in the sense of the restaurant suck it up in the sense of I did not go to Georgia. I ordered the fried catfish while she went with the steak sliders and a margarita. The catfish plate was impressive -- plenty of lightly battered catfish piled on top of a huge serving of waffle fries. The fish was cooked just right, not overly fried or greasy, and it definitely filled me up. I would absolutely order it again. My wife wasn't as impressed with the steak sliders, and we both agreed her waffle fries were a little too salty. On the positive side, she really enjoyed her margarita, which helped make up for the meal a bit. One thing we both really appreciated was that they offer a 15% discount for Military and Veterans, which is always a nice gesture to see. Overall, it was still a good first experience. I'll definitely be back for the catfish, and my wife said she'd try something different next time. Nice atmosphere, good service, and worth checking out if you haven't been before.

I finally put it on this year's schedule and planned to go with a group of ten. But, as the day drew nearer, folks just started cancelling for various reasons, until we finally ended up with a party of five today. When we arrived, I was surprised at just how much of a "bar and grill" this was. I started getting nervous about the food. I know we've all been to bars that had horrible food before. Fortunately, this is not one of those bars. The food here was really good. We started with an order of fried mushrooms served with gravy and deviled eggs. I'm not a fan of fried food, but the others all seemed to enjoy them. There was a huge mound of them that all but disappeared. I opted for the deviled eggs- one of my favorite foods. These were topped with a crunchy strip of bacon and served with a pile of pickled jalapeno slices. The were super delicious! On our member's recommendation, I tried the orange chicken served with fried rice for my entree, as did two others. I was overwhelmed with the gobs of food the server sat in front of me. There were at least twenty bite-sized nuggets of chicken sitting on top of a bed of fried rice. That bed was obviously a California King! They were lightly covered in the orange sauce, but still crunchy. It was a very satisfying meal. I had the other half for supper, and it was almost as delicious heated up in the microwave. One of our people had a pepperoni pizza. It was probably about 18". The crust was amazingly thin. It just looked awesome to me. My friend enjoyed it, but carried a lot home with her. The fifth person in our group had the Reuben sandwich. She said it was delicious, but was put off by the amount of fat on the meat. Encore makes their own pastrami. The chef explained to her that the fat on the pastrami was what most people thought made it such a delicious meat. I know it looked great to me. I will most likely have that next time I visit, and there will be a next time.

Both were delicious but because I didn't have my reading glasses, I mistakenly thought there was a tiny pice of fried chicken on top of the egg whites. Instead, the egg white is breaded and fried. LOL. It was delicious but not enough protein for me so I ordered the 4 piece chicken tenders. OMG, the pieces of chicken were huge compared to with elsewhere. Everything was nice and hot and perfectly cooked. The chicken was nice and juicy. Yum! Service was fantastic. Lucy Cooper's Ice House is definitely a laid back sort of place.
