Everything about this place is great. While we come here to play pool, there are a variety of other games available, including darts and foosball along with table games. The staff is always friendly and attentive to everyone. Summer will even make "her rounds" to say hello. There is league pool if you want to join a team, or form your own team. The atmosphere here is very inviting and enjoyable, with great music playing, but not so loud that you have to yell to talk to one another. When we got there, you could tell as soon as you walked in it was an older establishment. Everything but maybe the pool table was dated they had carpet which was filthy of stains didn't look too clean at all. The service was good. I felt that the pool fee was a little high. We're here on vacation and wanted to play pool. Our friends walked up to the bar to order another drink and talked about how some of our friends cant be here since she got too drunk. The bartender heard this, and said EVERYONE was cut off. Didn't ask who was drunk, just heard the word and said cut off. Our friends tried to say hey we were talking about someone whos not here... she didnt care. Walked up to our pool table, and took away ALL of our drinks. At least $60 worth of drinks. All because she heard us mention the word drunk. I have never heard of this policy, looked up San Antonio ABC law... nothing makes sense. We came up ourselves to talk with her personally, and she was verbally aggressive and was visually upset. Her own bartender said she was being a "bitch." This use to be one of my favorite hole in the walls. They have upgraded the furniture and pool tables since I started going here and remodeled the bar to look nicer and added bigger TVs. But that's where the excitement ended for me on this visit. I met some friends here for pool and we paid and picked a spot. There were two bartendars and the Hispanic guy with long hair really messed our drinks up. He served us chamoy shots that were orange when normally they are red. Apparently he forgot to add the main ingredient. He also served us Vegas bombs to two of my friends and each one tasted completely different. The drinks were not consistent unless given from the clean shaven guy. Also, at the end of the night, one of my friends had been overcharged and several drinks he didn't order were added. Another one told me she was doing the special drink but didn't get the deal price and was charged $2 more than what she was told per drink. I would not trust opening a tab here or that you will actually get the drink you ordered. I have a feeling money is being stolen from people here. That's why I always pay cash, but sad that you can't trust the workers here. read more

Do not go to this establishment. They are quick to cut you off and they over charge. The waitresses are doing what they are told but management there sit in the back and tell the waitresses when to cut people off. We were not disruptive and there were only 6 people in the bar hence the reason why the place is always empty. So if your bottom line looks like shit that is the reason. Wow! Is it just me or does anyone else see a pattern here! I lve read several reviews with the same outcome. Sounds like management needs a lot more training I would say! My buddies and I have been coming to Eddie's beyond new management. We love to spend our day's end from work at Eddie's, however "Elizabeth" new manger has made it impossible to enjoy our time there. She's told our group that we aren't allowed to return and without a good explanation only that she doesn't like the way we " act". This was two days ago and decides to inform us today! We came here for the first time tonight at 11:15 pm to celebrate a new work milestone. We payed $8 a person to play pool for the rest of the night. (Even though the papers on the table said it was $5 per person after 7 pm Sunday - Friday. By 12:30 we had each had 3 (1/2 sized shots of Jameson) before we were cut off because we had "drank too much" even though we were playing pool quietly in the corner. We drank more pickle juice than Jameson. Our tab was $70 and we paid too much for pool. What a ridiculous place. Overpriced and will not be returning. What a joke. read more

First time going to Eddie's. It was my son's birthday and he wanted to play pool. I always pass by Eddie's and it looks kind of shady. But it's not!!! It was clean, did not smell like smoke, and lots of fun stuff to do! They had pool, darts, ping pong and other games. They had icy beverages too. While it was pricey on the weekend ($10 for adults and $15 for my 19 and 20 year old) it was still fun. I didn't see drink specials for Saturday, so expect to spend some bucks. I drive almost 45 minutes to shoot pool here. Great tables, friendly staff and decent drink specials. Not the place if you want craft cocktails but they will try to make anything from their selection. I like Tuesday night's and have come the last three weeks. The food is tasty but I have one big pet peeve. .. My bills would double easily if the waitresses came around more often. I waited tables so if its busy I get it. But if my glass has been empty for 20 minutes and I'm constantly looking around and the waitresses are chilling at the bar....That's not ok. I dont want to get the staff in trouble but as someone who owns a business its important to do your best. Always friendly just not super attentive..But the pool tables are reasonably priced and well maintained, you can always just use the bar I guess. read more

Being a pool aficionado and playing on 3 different leagues means that I am at pool halls alot. This is a pretty good place to practice, shoot a few games, throw some darts or even watch a sporting event or 2 while enjoying the company of friends. As for any place, it has its pros and cons. Pros: 6 dollar all you can play pool on almost any night. This is per person btw. Mondays are free pool but get there early since tables are taken by 930p. Their happy hour is halfway decent. Pool tables are in pretty decent condition. Cons: Daily specials are miniscule and not very helpful for liquor drinkers. The parking lot in the back is not well lit. The drink prices are a bit on the high side for a pool hall. 5 dollars for a beer and 4 something for well drink. The lounge area looks nice but is small and well couches are not very comfy. Overall a good pool hall to go to when the need arises. read more

READ THAT STATEMENT AGAIN This is almost unheard of in an upscale establishment The standard bar food is a little more elaborate than most, GREAT fish n chips !! and a wide variety of choices all priced reasonable. I've been going to this place for a few months now. This is a sports bar. They have 10+ pool tables, darts, ping pong table, and giant jenga blocks. The pool tables and sticks are well kept. The place is clean and spacious. They serve bar foods. Full bar with lots of drink choices. There's an outdoor patio for smoking. Modern jukebox with wide up-to-date selection of songs. The staff are very friendly and attentive. There's a dj on Sunday nights and you can sing karaoke if you're brave enough. They hold 9-ball tournament on Sunday nights also. I've been charged wrist band to play pool $7 and/or $12 depending on the day, but it's good for the whole night!! I never had any problems with parking. The men's bathroom could use some renovation. Very friendly atmosphere, suitable for groups or solo. I've met and became friends with a few of the regulars already. I would definitely continue to come to this place and would highly recommend it for billiard enthusiasts. read more

This place is actually a joke. We came here with 10 people. Had a beer when we stepped in and we're told they can only serve 2 drinks an hour....! What in the world? I was told the TABC makes these rules.. not true. Then I'm told "owner makes these rules and checks the tabs to make sure".. "it's a guideline".. (first off get your story straight) I went around asking other guests (older people) I'm 24. And was told they never heard that.. what kind of business operates like this? What kind of discrimination is this? Server was cool. Problems with the bartender and owner.. basically gave a whole speech about how other bars should be doing this.. and if anyone has ever been to any other place you know this is not true.. the TABC rule is that one person cannot have 2 drinks at 1 time... nothing else. This place SUCKED! We were told about this place by an new friend whom is now questionable. Anyway, we came in a party of 4 was greeted by Josh the hostess, sat down for a good 15min and the had to flag someone down which happened to be the hostess Josh. He stated he'd get a server to take our order. He then came back another 10min and said he'd take our order. After about another 15 min he put our order in. We waited another 15 min b4 we got our drinks. The drinks were watered down and tasted of no liquor whatsoever, requested to have the drinks taken back ordered beer instead. When the food finally came it was DISGUSTING! Never had a server come over to ask if everything was ok nothing, finally we asked for a manager, after another 20mins Rachel the "manager" came over. We voiced our experience and the "manager Rachel just stood there, never said one word to us. Never said I'm sorry for your experience never said anything she just grabbed the uneaten food and walked away. We were left wondering what to do.
