Bear in mind, I'm not trying to get a job as a swimsuit model - no Trenbolone shoulders or chiseled Instagram abs. I want to take care of the original equipment I was issued: me...and more directly, my knees. I went in my closet and assumed that my Arcteryx hiking boots were a perfect option and set out walking 10-15,000 steps a day, every day...on concrete. For three weeks, it was all No Worries, mate. Then it started to feel like there was someone punching the medial facet of my left knee. I am no physician and I do recall that pain is the body's blinking hazard lights. I talked to some friends that are pretty advanced runners and they mentioned a brand I had never heard of: HOKA Oné Oné (accent added by me so you know the name is not Hoka #1 #1). I knew I had no brand loyalty and I DID want the expertise that comes from a dedicated running shop. I went online and found Potomac River Running. I called their number and spoke with a delightfully helpful associate that said they were still open on that particular Sunday afternoon. I was so pleased with my phone experience, I drove from the Bethesda area all the way over to Leesburg. The shop was nestled among a pleasant variety of local chain stores and sole proprietorships. I was greeted promptly and soon I found myself working with the young lady I had spoken to earlier on the phone. We assessed my proper shoe sizing with a nifty pressure sensitive electronic device and then proceeded to capture and analyze my gait. She showed me on an iPad where my heels were striking and the position of my lower leg in relation to the ground. I tried on several pairs of shoes from a variety of makers. The shoes I kept coming back to were the HOKAs. I am incredibly pleased with the shoes and certainly with the friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive staff. I love writing 5 star reviews because I am excited for all of you to frequent these wonderful stores. I will definitely return when I need to replace this pair and I humbly offer you do your feet a favor and stop by yourself. Sneaker well, my friends.

Vans was open with 3 or 4 people in there and it got busy with customers around 7:30. When we came into the store we got a hello from a young man we would later learn is Kai and offered if we needed help to let him know. He went back twice to help look for classic slip-ons. They didn't have one of the kids sizes so he brought out an alternative laced up version. He also went back later to look for two Viper/Desert sizes for the kids as well as see if they had a 13 or 14. He did tell me that the 13s are limited but would look, which was nice. These were sold out online, as well, I would later find. It was nice that he would go back and check. The young lady at the checkout was really sweet and helped us as well as gave advice on the aerosol versus spray protection. Our kids will stain these shoes in a hot minute but if we can stave it off a few hours or days, it's worth it. She had mentioned that customers liked the aerosol can versus the pump spray.

After driving 45 miles to get to this store, I was greeted by a young gentleman who was very dull and unwelcoming. I looked around the store and noticed signs everywhere for 30% off sale. I approached the aloof greeter/salesman and I asked him for more details regarding the 30% off sale. He looked up at the ceiling and just walked away from me without addressing my question. He walked over to a co-worker and started a personal conversation on the sales floor. Seems like the staff at this store prefers to huddle and chat with each other rather than help customers. This is unacceptable behavior. AllSaints HQ should properly train these young adults on providing excellent customer service.
