But I walked out with two pairs, an awesomely ugly umbrella, and arch support gels, all for less than a hundred bucks. This is what happens when two shopaholics browse the clearance section. She got a hot pair of strappy evening heels, and I got two pairs of non-black closed-toe pumps to go with my growing collection of stockings at home. I had to will myself to not buy some of those peeptoe slingback heels. God bless the purple tag and red tag clearance items. I'll definitely be back to root through the back room again. She asked for my phone number to bring up my DSW awards account. I informed her that I did not have one. She then asked for my # anyway because it would just take a moment to create an account for me. I informed Tina that I didn't want to create an awards account and only wanted to return the shoes. At this point, Tina has decided that she is still going to harass me to get a DSW awards account. She asked me why didn't I want a rewards account. I inform her that I was not required to have a rewards account to return merchandise and that I was also not required to tell her why I did not want something and that my NO should be sufficient. Tina, who still has not returned my shoes, informs me that "No is not an answer". She was basically demanding to know why I was saying No to opening an awards account. Only after I informed her that I knew my rights and was aware that there is no store policy that I must have a rewards account to return merchandise did she process my return. She thrusts the receipt in my hand. I informed Tina that I would be filing a complaint against her but she didn't seem to care. I guess this is DSW's store policy now to harass & try to humiliate their customers into giving out their personal information, also known as PII. Good luck with that. Thank goodness this is the age of technology :)

I'm particularly writing a review today, though, for a different reason. I stopped by to window shop while I happened to be nursing a terrible blister acquired while hiking. When I asked the staff there if they had any products that would help, they fixed me up with a combination of a small gel pad and an abrasion prevention tape, that made it possible for me to hike again immediately without any discomfort. Their advice on usage was very helpful as well.

Zack greeted me as soon as he saw me and asked how he could assist. As soon as I asked for the specific shoes he advised they did not have them, they were supposed to get them but they had not arrived. He showed me what they did have and advised of the sales they had going on. He also advised I could check one of their other locations that he believed already had them. The store was spotless and they probably have the most clothing I have seen in one of their locations in a while. Everything was nicely organized and easy to find.

Vans was open with 3 or 4 people in there and it got busy with customers around 7:30. When we came into the store we got a hello from a young man we would later learn is Kai and offered if we needed help to let him know. He went back twice to help look for classic slip-ons. They didn't have one of the kids sizes so he brought out an alternative laced up version. He also went back later to look for two Viper/Desert sizes for the kids as well as see if they had a 13 or 14. He did tell me that the 13s are limited but would look, which was nice. These were sold out online, as well, I would later find. It was nice that he would go back and check. The young lady at the checkout was really sweet and helped us as well as gave advice on the aerosol versus spray protection. Our kids will stain these shoes in a hot minute but if we can stave it off a few hours or days, it's worth it. She had mentioned that customers liked the aerosol can versus the pump spray.
