Many others would have quoted and either tried to do it, or subbed it out. He politely told us that others could do it better and cheaper.

He verbally quoted me $1,500 for an IKEA laminate counter kitchen installation. The cost of the IKEA laminate counter (3 pieces) was only $300. I felt the $1,500 was a bit high but I was having trouble finding someone to install laminate and Victor seemed knowledgeable regarding my project. The project should have taken a day, but Victor was extremely slow. He also let me know he now charges hourly. After day one, he was still setting up his equipment and adjusting my an ikea kitchen drawers which he claimed were off. Not much more done on day 2, day 3, finally started cutting counter tops. I asked him repeatedly where were were on price which he said he would let me know but did not. The evening before he did the actual install on my counter he sent me a text stating he was at $4,500. I was could not even believe this. I did not respond until the next day when he arrived. I had a conversation with him regarding the price he was now charging, he said he had to adjust some cabinets, I did not even pay that much to have my whole IKEA kitchen installed! I knew he was going to leave me is a mess, no counter, sink, etc. I told him to finish and when he was done, I tried to talk with him again about the original $1,500 estimate to now $4,500. He got very heated, so I gave him a check for the full amount which I so regret now but I was uncomfortable with his reaction and wanted him to leave my home. Please beware and don't make the same mistakes I did by hiring Victor who took total advantage of me and he knows it.

We hired another installer who tried he's best, but unfortunately quit because HomeDepot did not pay him. I was "black-balled" by this location. And told that my transaction was escalated to corporate. Which was not true. I have tried more then 10 times to contact corporate to no avail. I now have cabinetry items sitting uninstalled in my garage. The install began in June 2022 and it's now March 2023. Again, I'm not the only consumer harmed by the Griffin HomeDepot. I recommend that you source a local cabinetry company. I'm positive this review will result in a response by HomeDepot "We are sorry...." I cannot find an attorney willing to take on HomeDepot. The corporate office will not call me back. The Griffin management told me that they cannot and will not help me. My builder paid $40K for this horrible design and install. We walked in the door without an appointment and less than 6 days later, including a weekend, we had beautiful granite countertops installed. Of course I think it helped that we were able to choose our granite out of the remnant stack and we did it in about 30 seconds. Christy handled everything we needed with professionalism and a great attitude. Everyone we came in contact with was super nice. The installers showed up when they said they would and did a very nice job, leaving no mess. This was a much better experience than what we had at Large Granite a few years ago. Craig came to my house and measured more thoroughly than anyone else that came. He provided mock ups of what he was going to do and what it would look like, which no one else did. He also provided recommendations as this was my first time doing a project of this kind and I was trying to handle both this and my wife's pregnancy at the same time. When the cabinets arrived, they were great quality, real plywood and he and his crew were able to get installation done in just a few hours. These are big cabinets and spaces to maneuver in and things look great.
