I have no idea what happened with the staff or how they operate the lessons but this year it felt like a waste of time. The instructor told us what we would work on and spent the rest of the time talking to her coworker or one particular father. It felt like they were facilitators and no actual instruction or involvement with the kids. Do not recommend the lessons at all anymore. We were very disappointed

They have showers and lockers indoors, bring your own lock. It can get crowded on weekend mornings, most of the lap swimmers split the lanes. This is a great place to take the adult Tri-Fit Aquatic classes, it's like water aerobics meets interval training with different types of underwater weights, an underwater bicycle and an underwater elliptical machine. If you have any injuries and/or overweight, aquatic exercise is a great way to work out with low impact to the joints. These classes are offered year round, however the pool is outdoors and it gets really cold in winter (despite being a heated pool). Sometimes the water temperature is not consistent and occasionally the heater breaks. Two improvements that would be appreciated - add a swimsuit wringer machine and add an indoor community pool to Mountain View for winter-time use during the rainy season. There are many RVs parked around Eagle Park because they have a public bathroom and BBQs. This community pool offers a fundraising donation bin for our homeless neighbors to have access to the showers, I think that is fantastic and shows genuine care for our community as a whole.

They told us the slide would open at noon (not sure if it varies each day), but come noon they didn't have enough lifeguards so they said 1 pm. The kids were seemingly done w the pool, so I asked if we could go to the playground nextdoor or get food for 20-30 mins and come back for the slide when it reopened, and they said no- strict no reentry policy. Understood the pool situation, but wished there was a little leniency about reentry esp since it was within the hour, to accommodate us given the slide got delayed. Pros- warm showers, supplied floatation vests and goggles from lost and found which was a life saver bc my daughter was upset we left ours at home lol (but seemed to run out of the floatation devices). Note- they say no arm floaties but they do allow puddle jumpers if you want to bring, I'm assuming bc coastguard certified). Hope this helps! We overall had a great time.

The unique feature about this pool is that once in a while there's a water feature where the sprinklers go on in the students get drizzled with water in the pool, which is a lot of fun! In addition, little kids can slide down the little frog structure for extra excitement!

I've used MVM both for private lessons and for workouts when SC Master's is closed for pool maintenance. The workouts are held 7 days a week at various hours in the early morning (5am-7 or 8am). Each workout is for adult swimmers of all abilities, which can be good or bad. Personally, I prefer having workouts specifically catered to my level. My biggest beef is with the coaches. They aren't very solid. They may be excellent swimmers, but being able to analyze every part of a stroke and explain things to others is a whole 'nother skill set that these coaches just aren't great at. Additionally, during the workouts it's more than likely that you aren't going to get any feedback. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, and it bothers me that I'm paying $10/workout (I think it's $50/month for residents or $80/10 swims) to just to a swim set with no feedback. I can do that on my own for a lot cheaper at a gym pool. Life is too short to spend endless hours at a bad Master's swim program. If you live south of MV, go to Santa Clara's program. If you live north, go to Stanford's.

I grew up locally with a strong swimming / water polo background and I am a huge fan of Mountain…read moreView Masters (MVM). My best estimate is that I have been swimming with MVM for almost 20 years. After college I left the pool for about 10 years and then rediscovered my love of swimming as a MVM Masters Swimmer. MVM is a large team that offers multiple workouts each morning at the Eagle Park pool (or the Rengstorff Park pool when Eagle Park is down for maintenance.) I'm pretty sure that the MVM membership also gives the swimmers access to the pools during the city's open swim periods as well. It has been my experience that MVM coaches are all experienced swimmers and very approachable. They are not swim instructors (although they are likely qualified to be instructors) but they will happily evaluate your stroke and provide you with constructive tips and guidance. If you are new to Masters ... you will learn that Masters swimmers are all different and they swim for different reasons ... fitness, pool competition, tri competitions, open water races and social reasons. If you have questions or doubts about the program I encourage you to just stop in during a morning workout and chat with one of the coaches ... or even one of the swimmers. (I recommend that you bring a suit because you will likely want to jump in.) MVM swimmers include a few former Olympians, several former collegiate swimmers, many former HS swimmers, lots of experienced open water swimmers, an endless number of triathletes and a healthy number of entry level swimmers having no competitive experience. The beauty is that you swim with people your own skill level and there is no pressure to jump in with a former Olympian if you are not ready for that. MVM is also a "social club." While I rarely join the social activities I am glad they are hosted and I have greatly enjoyed the few events I attended. Some of the events include team dinners, San Jose Giants baseball games, team picnics, beer nights, wine tasting, swim meets, etc. Finally, I have made some great friends at MVM and while I greatly enjoy my swims I also enjoy the "mandatory" post swim coffee with my teammates before heading off to work.

I do a 180 turn and go back up the road, checking out a low, long swinging white metal gate, similar to what you see at border crossings, with a sign saying Cupertino Hills Swim & Racquet Club. Except no guard house at the border crossing gate. I go up the hill and over the crest, and reach Nirvana -a beautiful Olympic size swimming pool, with a clubhouse, and six tennis courts, complete with landscaping. The lot is filled with late model Mercedes, Lexus, Acuras, Porsches, and BMWs -my 1998 Honda Civic sedan with 178k miles is the oldest in the lot, and is mistaken for the Club ball boys's car. I expect valet parking at a place like this! No Rolls Royce Phantoms like you see at the royal box at Wimbledon! We've got 12 people but only 1 courts. Turns out that the other 5 tennis courts were occupied as early as 7am, by club members with the keys to the gate. We start play on court 6, the worst of the courts, due to half in and half out of the shade -balls disappear in the shadows. A player opens up a can of penn tennis balls, and one ball is flat. You must have bought that at Costco! 15 minutes into the match, a net player pounds an overhead into the ground, and the ball goes over the end fence into the alley. 30 minutes later, another overhead, this time the balls goes over the alley and lands in the private property of the residences next door. A dog chases it, and holds it proudly in its mouth, saliva covering the ball. That's yours buddy! 90 minutes later, I leave the court, and recognize the 4 players on the next court, as being long time, no see, buddies from Sunnyvale Tennis Club in the 1980s! Old tennis geezers don't die - they go to Cupertino Hills Tennis Club, on their way to heaven!
