Great food, drinks, and service! Went for prode event and had a ball. Ordered strips and fries!

Billed mainly as a dance club, the Clarendon Ballroom also specializes in private events. It is the latter I'm reviewing this under. I recently participated in a private party at this facility and thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The Ballroom is situated along Wilson Blvd., in an area of Arlington that sees a busy nightlife. This place is usually a dance club, but closes whenever a private event can be booked. I've heard anecdotes the club is okay, but I never got to experience it for myself. The building is old and possess a lot of character. It has an art deco vibe and fits with the 1920s/1930s feel of the area. As fun as this is, the building is dated and could be cared for better. The layout is spacious: seating area inside the window with couches and chairs, cocktail area for tables in the lobby, stairs leading down to extra rooms, restrooms, coat check; the bar is long and wood, very classic and lines the right wall; the old wood dance floor fills the main space with a 'stage' area along the back wall. Elevators are at the rear for people needing them. The bar has 3 areas of taps and an entire wall of liquors. The staff changes per event, but I was very happy with everyone working the evening I came. There is also a rooftop bar and lounge area during the more pleasant months. From my friends that planned the event: they were happy with the communication and working with the staff. It was a fun location, full of character.

AWESOMELY LOUSY!! They are playing satellite radio on New Year's Eve when I've already paid a $65 cover.

Great place to come if you want to be out or dancing - while avoiding the club scene. You can dress casually or "club-ready", it's all here.

This old school punk venue has been around since the early 80s and I started seeing shows here in my late teens. The history behind this place is just mind-blowing and incredible. To me it's one of the best places to see a live band. The sound is spot on. I've seen Fugazi (sadly never got to see Minor Threat), Bad Brains, and several other bands here. Iconic and legendary venue... for music lovers it's a must at least once to see a performance here.

Solid concert venue in a convenient location in DC. Parking is available on surrounding streets if…read moreyou arrive early enough. You can also pay for a parking pass through their website but the lot only opens up an hour beforehand so be sure to plan your evening with that in mind. We ended up parking on the street for only $3 since we arrived early to grab dinner nearby. The entry line was super long and literally went around the block but it moved surprisingly fast. Staff was friendly and helpful at the door. The inside was dark when we arrived and it would've been nice to have some house lights so people could find their way around the venue a little easier. The AC was cranking and the temp was comfortable. Upstairs has standing room and some bleachers which provides a good view with less of a crowd. Their VIP area looks nice and I'd be interested in splurging next time for a seat and a better view. There's bars downstairs and upstairs and even some food concessions. Getting out of the venue from the balcony was a bit stressful with only one way out. It makes you imagine what would happen if you needed to get out in a rush... other than that, it's a good space.

Needless to say, there were more kids in here, with X's on their hand, than in Chuck E. Cheese. That must have had secruity issues in teh past because they wand everyone and then they also pat them down prior to them being allowed in. I would think that energy should be directed towards getting a ID machine that most bars have to detect fake IDs. The place has 4 levels of bars/dancing, 3 of which were open during my visit. The drinks are small and way over priced. And be aware that the tip is already included on your tab. The place is decorated with a bunch of neon lights and the music that they had playing was on point. The DJs were hot fire. The main level bar has televisions to watch. They had Thursday night football playing when I was there. I will warn you there are a lot of steps to get to the top level/patio. Be prepared to get your workout in. I fell sorry for an intoxicated person trying to make it down the stairs. The top level is enclosed with a partially covered roof. It is open air, so I am not sure it is open in cold or inclement weather. Each level has VIP areas that you can get with bottle service. I highly recommend getting on the VIP list prior to coming here. That gets you free admission and a watered down drink of your choice. Don't get me wrong this is a decent bar with lots of potential. all the young kids just was not my scene. The prices of the drinks could also be a little more reasonable as well. I would try this place again on a 21+ night.

Considering the HH deals across DC, I'd have to say Crush is one of the best on Thursdays at least. I got to try a wide assortment of drinks here too, and absolutely loved the Pornstar Martini. Dear reader, Crush…read moreDance Bar is such a fun spot and easily one of my favorite places to go out in DC. The rooftop and open-air area is so nice and gives you the perfect place to hang out, catch a little air, and still feel part of the energy, which feels like a very strong social advantage. The drinks here are seriously so good. I always go for a crush, usually grapefruit, while my husband reliably orders the porn star martini, and both are excellent. The orange crush is also great, but the grapefruit is probably my favorite. The fact that they fresh squeeze the juice right at the bar is kind of crazy and honestly feels pretty unique in the District. As for the porn star martini, it is insanely good, and the alcoholic passion fruit foam takes it completely over the top in the best way. The bartenders are incredible and so kind, which always makes a place stand out more, and the music is always great. They also have frequent live DJs in house, which keeps the vibe fun and does a great job of highlighting local talent. Every time I have been, it has been a really great time from start to finish. Overall, Crush is the kind of place that makes it very easy to stay for one more drink and a little longer than planned. I will absolutely keep coming back.
