There's so many cute things - plushies and Sanrio merchandise included! I look at the Clearance items and specials. Sometimes, I can get ten items for $10. The Ala Moana location had a Buy 3, Get 2 free sale happening. I didn't really find anything on this visit. Claire's is the place for all things accessories, personal need head to toes...hair clips, totes, and decor galore a dangerous place to shop as they always have great deal to purchase multiple items for the discounted prices. They always have the latest trend and seasonal items right at the front weather it's Barbie, Sanrio or the impressive choices of Squishmellow plushies has seem to exploded here. It's been decades since I've gotten my ears pierced and they do have that service done here and have seen many take that leap to get it done and since my piercing have partially closed up I've always wondered if I have the courage to redo that one day as the staff here are just always so helpful and friendly. She also took us to Katrina who was super helpful in helping us pick out earrings and going over the service. Felt thrilled when I learned that Ala Moana Center have Claire's location. A bit cheap, cute stuffs & extensive choices of jewelries. But they are the opposite of the Kahala location when it comes to customer service. The girls working here don't give a crap 'bout you. Everytime I come here they just stare on me. No smile just plain poker faces. But still keep coming back - location wise. Also because I love spoiling my younger sisters with cheap cute stuffs while they haven't ask something like Victoria Secret or Vans. LoL. I hope they are more friendly in here. I hope that they'll put Aloha on their job coz it should be like that. CLAIRE at 1450 Ala Moana Blvd #1132 the sales person Mikcol. The skin care product is garbage. Mdicol put some skin creme under my eyes to rid the bags and it did pull the skin tight but it also made my skin darker with a bluish tint. The salesperson Mdicol was very aggressive and when I did not buy the product he became even more aggressive, I was able to leave and later the bags under my eyes came back even worse with wrinkles it was horrible. The staff here did an amazing job piercing my kid's ears. Even though the store got busy with people inquiring about piercings, the person who did the piercing was really detailed oriented and took her time so that the piercing was perfectly even. She tried three times adjusting where they would pierce. I really appreciated how much care she took into making sure the hole was in the best location. She was also friendly and helpful. I found such great cheap items at the Claire's in Kahala Mall so I decided to try out their store in. Ala Moana. Their hours are wrong on the website, they should really work on fixing that. I got there early because the hours posted showed they opened one hour before the other stores. So I get there and then it's dark and it says it opens at 11. I was a little irritated but I just went downstairs to check some of the open stores down there. Then I came back up and went in Claire's. It's really just full of hair accessories. I was going in to just get some hair clips for my daughter's school. They were doing a shoebox Christmas gift box for kids and we signed up for hair clips. They have a lot of clips but a lot of them are expensive. Yeah they have the specials like buy three and get three free but it still is pretty pricey. I stick to the back where it's more affordable. It's the clearance section. At this Claire's it was buy 12 for $12. Pretty good deal but I just couldn't find 12 things there that I wanted. I found two. It was really odd because the two items that I got originally had labels on it with $1 and then they put a sticker on it that said $3. I guess it went up in price, just thought that was odd. Maybe they should've got a new clip holder instead of using the cheaper labeled ones. Do not get a cartilage piercing here! I got my upper ear (helix) pierced and the girl did them at totally different angles. One points back to my head and the other points out to the side. So annoying that I now have asymmetrical holes in my ears! I should have known by how super rushed and stressed this girl seemed at the end of the day, that I should come back another time. But I called ahead to make sure it wasn't too late and she said it was fine to come in. She should have just told me they were closing instead of rushing the piercing and doing a bad job. Going to have it fixed at an actual piercing place and the hole will have to heal. If they can't train the staff correctly on different piercings, they should just stick to earlobes. read more

They could definitely utilize that space a little more.. There are 2 registers but only the front one was open on Black Friday. A sweet girl was at the front to welcome you in but didn't offer a bag...the prices seemed to have gone up pretty high. With a gift card of $25 seems like you could buy 1-2 items unless it's candy.. Buy 3 get 3 free was the promo today but it's nothing special really. It's the usual promotion. 3 items I had in my bag: $14.99+20+17.99...yoowwzers! Got my ears pierced recently at the Ala Moana location... First, I reviewed all the reviews and comments about this place before deciding to come here. I didn't want to go to a tattoo parlor (I don't know why)... after reading all the reviews it turned me off to going here and actually made me more nervous. I was walking at the mall one day and decided to just get it done. I wanted a second lobe piercing. It wasn't busy at all. The lady at the counter was very knowledgeable. She seemed very clean during the whole procedure. It was quick, easy and the procedure itself was painless. A few minutes after my lobes felt like they were hot and a little burning but the procedure was painless. The worker who performed it seemed very confident which made me less nervous. She told me she's count to 3 but pierced it on the count of 2 which helped. They use the earring you choose with a disposable piercing gun to pierce your ear. It's really quick! No bleeding. I've been using the healing cleanser and it's been 3 weeks and no infection. I'm very happy with my experience. I forgot the lady's name, I wish I could recommend her but I forgot. I guess every experience will be different but I'm not complaining about mine. To each is they're own... good luck! read more

My dad and I got here seven minutes after they closed and the doors were locked. We were so shocked and so sad because it was my last day on the island and I really wanted my thirds done (we don't have Claire's back in my town anymore). The one worker inside chose to walk over and ask what we needed and we said a piercing and she surprisingly let us in! This review is on the policy of the store and not the employees within. After an ear piercing nightmare occured from the store on the Big Island I came into this location hoping to fix my problem. The problem? The new piercing I had gotten less than a week ago had gone horribly wrong. The "pearl" part of my earring broke off and caused the white gold stem to rip through my ear. I was bleeding, hurting, and looking like a fool. All I wanted was another earring so that I could put it in before the hole closed. No big deal right? Wrong. Apparently Claire's couldn't offer me another earring. Their policy is that I had to wait for my hole to close up and then repierce my ear. Forget the fact that I might be left with scars. Forget the fact that I didn't want them ripping another hole through my ear. Forget everything because that's apparently what this company stands for. I wanted a refund. The best they could give me was $42 of the $50 I originally payed because I didn't have the damn gigantic bottle of ear cleaning solution they forced me to buy. This whole process took an hour! An hour! So as a whole I came out of this experience $8 short, scars on my ears and permanently terrified of ever getting another piercing again. Thanks Claire's. Not the best jewelry store around. You can go somewhere else that has better customer service. Long story short: I returned some earrings that irritated my ears and no one told me that it was a final sale. No one stamped "final sale" on the receipt. It didn't say anything on the kiosk. It briefly mentions it on the sign, but no one has the time to read the signs since the legal clause has been printed in such small font. Instead I got a store credit from a half way decent jewelry store. When I asked what can be done now. The store clerk looked a bit bewildered at my question. Again, I asked her what can be done about this. She said I can do an exchange or get a store credit. You can tell she tried to not yell. And she probably secretly wanted me out of the store by the way she looked at me. Seriously, sometimes I question the customer service at Claire's. Kaliko and Chantel are two people who always make my sister feel special, and they are the best. They are even helpful over the phone, and they patiently and expertly answer many questions. My sister has to visit this Claire's every time we go to Ala Moana, and we often come out with a bag or two. They always have sales going on, and for the last few months they've had this amazing BUY THREE GET THREE FREE promotion! They said every day they have a new sale or promotion, but this promotion gives you even more incentive to buy items or to shop at Claires. They have a large selection of earrings, and-like all Claires-they have many nickel free earrings for those with sensitive skin and ears (like me). They also have a large selection of jewelry, backpacks, purses, and phone cases, for any age and style! They have many, many adorable trinkets, accessories, and room decorations that girls love! The entire store is very filled and colorful, and it definitely makes you feel like you're ready for a party or some other crazy fun event. The music has always been appropriate, with either Disney stars songs or other young popular artists' songs with clean lyrics. The store is always pretty neat and clean, and there isn't anything to complain about unless you don't like crowded stores or girly stuff. Stood second waiting in line and another employee came out and asked the people behind me if they needed to get run up. A third employee came out and asked another couple behind me if they need to get run up. I looked nothing like the family in the front or any of the families in the back and was clearly holding items and staring at them so there was no confusion there. The only difference is my skin was the darkest so maybe they have something against dark people or they have eye problems and both employees just saw straight through me and helped the others behind me in the line both times. read more

Claire's sells cheap things. Cheap jewelry, cheap hairpieces, cheap makeup, cheap clothing. The clips have a high chance of falling apart, the jewelry has a high chance of falling apart, anything glued down will probably eventually pop off, I would never use their makeup, and one should avoid paying full price for anything because the items are never worth their full retail value. BUT. But. Sometimes you walk by a Claire's and there is a sign in the window beckoning you to come forth. "10 for $10" it says, or "Buy 3 get 3" it croons, and suddenly this place filled with cheapness becomes downright magical. Magical because you have kids who have classmates and friends and you have to purchase exactly 87 Christmas gifts or make 27 goodie bags or fill four large Christmas stockings or do other things that heap buckets of shame on your partially environmentally conscious, minimalist soul. And sometimes you find a rainbow wig with a unicorn horn for $1 and you are filled with joy because, you know, rainbow unicorns. And it matches your rainbow bustle and your rainbow gloves. Who's ready for Pride? I AM. Someday I will be rich and be able to give everyone in our life gift cards to Whole Foods inside of a Life Factory bottle inside of a handwoven eco bag. But for now I bend to the cost efficient baubles, the bright colors and cloyingly cute doodads, the little cheap-as-heck novelties that make little kids smile. So. Here are my TOP FOUR TIPS for selling your soul and shopping at Claires. 1) INSPECT THE JEWELRY. Is the chain very thin (it will kink or break)? Did some idiot make people hang metal pendants from the edges of fragile lace (going to tear right through)? Are the loops made from strong wire or very thin wire that can be pulled open by hand (all going to come apart)? Are the loops completely closed (space is bad)? Is it a very shiny, almost white silver (this will tarnish and corrode in no time)? Is glue holding everything together (their glue is inferior)? I made and sold jewelry for 12 years and I recognize many, many pieces in Claire's that probably won't make it through one use. You will rarely find items that are truly well made as that is not the point of this store, but if you are careful you will be able find things that will at least last for a bit. And if you are crafty then you can reinforce items yourself with some pliers or hot glue. 2) ONLY SHOP DURING PROMOTIONS. Do not pay full price for anything. Unless you really, really, really want/need it. They have amazing promotions. Wait for them. Things become 50% off. Then they become 50% off of the 50% off. And despite knowing in your heart that some poor person in some impoverished place must be slaving away for almost no pay, you are overcome with the need to fill your basket with clips and necklaces because they are just. so. cheap. 3) WATCH NON-TYPICAL ITEMS FOR HIGH PRICES. Non-typical items refers to things that are not part of the usual Claire's fare (which consists of jewelry, costume-y clothing, trinkets, and room decor). Things like board games, candy, full-on toys, movie-themed items. Sometimes the prices are fair, sometimes they want twice the price or more for a Scrabble Junior or a bag of gummy worms. Even if you do score these overpriced items at 50% off, you're still paying what you could pay elsewhere and not receiving a deal at all. Pay attention and compare prices. 4) DO NOT EXPECT FANTASTIC SERVICE. Then you won't be disappointed. Sometimes they're good, sometimes they ask you a million times if you need help, sometimes they just talk to each other because the manager isn't around, and sometimes they're downright grumpy because they've just been lectured about quotas and told to push more product and they hate their job. You're in a cheap store. Don't expect to be treated like you're shopping at Neiman Marcus. Word. Happy shopping. read more

I decided to change up my new hairstyle by adding flowers, bows, and headbands. So Yelp took me here and I must say, the employees are rough. I had one employee tell me about it....then I went about my business...then another one told me that I can't mix and match in a somewhat rude way....then she also made me take a basket as if I was going to stuff those flowers in my bag...like really?
