I needed a few items I wasn't able to find elsewhere and I decided to give this place a go. Upon entry I will say that they could afford to light a few more lights in here. It was rather dim. And I know this is no fault to them, but get the customers under control. As soon as I entered there was a customer acting a fool. I have no idea what had happened, but she didn't mind reading this woman the riot act. Then after she finished her first tirade, she started on everyone else. Listen lady, I'm here to pick up some celery and odds and ends, I wasn't even in this store. She kept this up the whole time she was in the store, whoever irked her, great job. After going through the produce section, which is quite fresh here. It says that it is fresh from the fields and I agree. Some of the best produce I have bought and it tasted quite fresh. I then made my way up and down the aisles. Each aisle was a different ethnicity. And each aisle was packed full with items that you would have to search far and wide for. I walked out of her with way too many snacks that are hard to find and do not regret it one bit. Yes, the customer service here could be worked on. But if they have to deal with customers like I described, I can see why they adjust their attitudes.

Although this appears to be more of a take-out establishment, America's Best Wings has a 3-4 small tables. But, most folks (at least during my visit) use those tables to wait for their food. It also has a lovely pharmacy and four aisles of health/organic/specialty foods.

I ordered a dozen female crabs two weeks ago and picked it up. The owner was pretty nice over the phone and answered my questions patiently. I have ordered from many seafood stores in the Silver Spring area before, but this one is the best place so far. There were plenty of meat in the crab, and they were heavy. I ordered them with seasoning on the side. They were delicious! My family could not finish the dozen crabs and they were still good a day later. There were plenty of roe (orange stuff) too for anyone who eats them. I will definitely order from here again even though it is far from home. read more

Last minute I was looking for crabs for dinner and my neighbor recommended CK's in Briggs Chaney. They have a wide variety of sizes--med, lg, extra lg, jumbo and females, I wanted to make sure they weren't too small, but didn't want to pay an exorbitant amount of money either. I went into shop to look at them and ordered 2 dz large males and 1 dz large females and they were fantastic--good size and heavy! Seasoning was great and they were cooked just right, not overdone or soggy.The heaviest crabs I've eaten this season! The prices are very reasonable. I had an excellent experience ordering crabs from this restaurant. The crabs were fresh, well-cooked, and generously seasoned, with rich flavor throughout. Great lunch specials here. I like the fried fish lunch special for around $7 bucks. The fish I get is the whiting and i ask for the fries extra crispy. You can ask for cod fish if you like it better. The crabs were more than fairly priced ($110 per dozen of heavy-for-their-size "large" crabs, served hot and fresh with very little water. These crabs certainty were local, steamed (not boiled) and fresh. The seasoning seemed perhaps a proprietary J&O blend and was adequately salty and spicy but (happily) less overpowering than Old Bay might be. The remainder of the menu, which we perused but avoided this time, would have been at home at a Chesapeake waterfront venue - all of the predictable shellfish-based traditional choices were here. Service was more than adequate; the super-cheerful Kelsey took good care of us and we took care of her (nearly a 25% tip). All told, including a draft beer for each of us and a shared slice of Smith Island Cake (a Maryland delicacy pretty hard to find), we dropped $157. Money well spent.
