Second time at CK Nails. First visit was great, so I came back. Big mistake. I got a pedicure and a simple acrylic overlay on my own short, natural nails. No tips. No extensions. Before starting, I asked the price and was told $70. There was no clear pricing posted for overlays and nothing was explained differently. At checkout, I was suddenly told my total was $120. When I questioned it, I was told it was because of the "overlay." That was never clarified upfront. No breakdown. No price list. Just a new number at the register. That's not how you run a business. On top of that, the tech was on her phone during my service and communication was limited. The whole situation felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. 1. I went to the salon for a pedicure with gel polish twice and I have no complaints. The second time was better because Ann took the time and massaged my feet as well ! 2. It wasn't until after I left that I noticed how poorly the job was done. The application and polish job was sloppy. Some nails shaped poorly. I called and went in to get them atleast repolished. I made an appointment over the phone on a Saturday for my friend and I. We both got French fade/ombré acrylics and they turned out great. We each paid $55. However, we both did some filing and small fixes when we got home to get them exactly shaped how we wanted. The green wasn't the green I was expecting. They did have the forest green I wanted in gel but I didn't want to pay $10 more. I just wish there wasn't an obvious separation from the acrylic and my cuticle because my nail started lifting. Also, there was some acrylic residue where there wasn't suppose to be. This is a new nail spot open in Somerset so I went to try it. I got a gel manicure for $25 (the cost is cheaper than ones in NYC). However, I didn't receive the relaxing and enjoying factors for getting nails done. In addition, three important elements for a nail salon, cleanliness, quality of work, and customer satisfaction. Suggestions: 1. Always maintain work stations in a clean manner. The UV machines still have nail debris from previous customers. 2. After my nails are done, I should feel nails are neat and clean. Unfortunately, there are some nail polish near the tip of my fingers and need to clean it at home. 3. Instead of just sitting and wait for the nails to dry, provide customers a quick 5 minutes massage during waiting time would increase customer satisfaction tremendously. I saw this place open up on my way to work and for some reason I wanted to try it out. So I did on a day that I was off from work and I got a gel manicure. I did notice the gel felt different from my past gel manicures - a little thicker and it felt like it didn't set right....the very next day after giving my daughter a bath, my gel manicure had already started to peel off! I knew I was suppose to go back but between having a toddler and a job, I didn't have any time to go during the hours they were open nor did I really want to go back in general. I didn't get what I asked for and when the manicurist told the owner, Cindy, began to yell at me I'm front of all the customer basically blaming me for what was not right. I reminded her of how long I had been going to the salon (since they opened and I spent lots of money their for myself, my daughter, and my moment. I have never been nasty or disrespectful and I didn't think the one time I alerted them I needed something fixed warranted me being spoken to the way she spoke to me. Not to mention they have never been the best when it comes to the quality of the work they do. I was willing to settle because they are in the neighborhood and the prices are decent. The only positive this place had was that it was clean and everything looked new, other than that my experience was horrible. I went with my sister for a fun pampering session and this experience completely ruined my sister's day. My sister went first because we were walk-ins, she showed the tech a picture of what she wanted and asked if it was possible? Did she, the nail tech, know how to do that design? The tech assured her it would not be a problem that she did those designs all the time. I asked how much the total would be based on the picture. The tech told me $50 because it had crystals and 3 different colors needed to make the marble design. Ok perfect not a problem. When the tech started applying the polish my sister tells her repeatedly that the polish she is applying is the wrong color the tech gets all bitchy and tells her the color is going to be different because the nails in the picture are longer and my sister wanted hers shorter. Wtf!?! How is the length of your nails going to affect the COLOR!?! I tell the tech that if that's not the color my sister wants that she should change it, to be honest the pink she used was so light it looked clear. The tech started the marble design it looked like she splattered paint on my sister's nails. To top it off she refused to change the color and wanted to charge $60 without the crystals or finishing the design. Turns out the tech didn't know how to do the nails in the picture and she was charging $10 more because my sister wanted her nails shorter. I would have left without getting mine done but I was mid way through. My nails are uneven, different lengths and the top coat is on my skin which makes the polish lift from the nails. My design was easy, pink polish with gold on the ring finger. But it still didn't come out as it should have or like it would have in a different location. The pictures show what I got versus what I wanted My sister refused to pay for something she did not want and just had the nails removed. During which time the tech was pointing at my sister and I and shouting with her colleagues in a different language. End result just don't go there, if you do happen to get what you wanted they'll change the price at the end or they will be rude, nasty and dishonest. read more

The worst salon and customer service. I came in yesterday and asked them if they had time to do my nails and she said I come back any time and I wouldn't need an appointment. I came in today at around 2:30pm and she said they were busy at the moment and asked if I could come back tomorrow. Considering that it was only 2:30pm, I proceeded to ask her if I can come in later today she said yes later. I asked her what time? She said 7. I come in at 6:40pm today and she tells me no I told you to come back tomorrow. I repeatedly told her that I asked her further about times to come in for later today. The nail tech refused me service. Another client offered up her slot so I could get my nails done. The nail tech still refused to do my nails. I've never been treated so poorly. read more
