CK Lock is the best locksmith in ALL of Los Angeles. I called so many locksmiths before I discovered CK Lock. All these our locksmiths were being so shady telling me they couldn't give me an exact price and depending on the situation the price could increase and the initial prices these other locksmiths were giving me were ridiculous expensive. Until, I called a friend who recommended CK Lock. CK Lock answered the phone right away and gave me solid price with no hidden fees and the price was so reasonable! I recently started a new job that is basically a grocery delivery service. Since the job requires me to go in and out of my car frequently, I wanted to replace the keyless entry remote for my old 2008 Chevy Cobalt. (I accidentally broke the old one while trying to change the battery.) Since I live close to Keyes Chevrolet, I called them to get a quote for a new one. They quoted me a price of $85 for the remote and $170 "labor" to program it. Since my car is more than ten years old and has well over 100,000 miles on it, I wasn't really looking to spend over $250 for a new remote. Then I decided to try Community Chevrolet in Burbank which is where I originally bought the car. They quoted me a price of $65 for the remote and $85 to program it. Since this seemed like a much better deal, I made an appointment and headed out to Burbank. When I got there, the Service Technician told me that the $65 quote I received was actually for a new key, not a remote. He said the price for a new remote was actually $100, plus the $85 to program it. This seemed a little shady since I clearly asked for a quote on a remote, not on a new key. But since their price was still significantly less than what Keyes quoted me, I agreed to the $35 increase. After about 20 minutes of waiting, the technician returned to tell me that he had programmed the remote, but the door locks on the car were faulty, and therefore, the new remote did not function properly. He said that for another $165 they would diagnose the issue with the locks and apply the $165 toward the cost of repairing the faulty locks. Again, I was not looking to invest that much money in a remote for a vehicle that is probably worth $3,000 at most. The technician tried to convince me to at least purchase the remote. At this point, I asked to speak with the Service supervisor. I told him there was no reason for me to pay them roughly $200 only to be leaving their dealership without resolving the problem I had come there to fix. He assured me that they would resolve the issues with the locks and get the remote functioning properly. He then sent the technician back out to my car to figure out what was causing the problem with the locks. Another 15 minutes goes by and the technician comes back and tells me that he was unable to diagnose the problem. The supervisor asked him if he could return the remote to the parts department, and he reluctantly admitted that he could. Then the technician tells me (with more than a little attitude) "Your car is out front, you can get out of here!" What a waste of time! When I got home, I looked online and saw that CK Lock was nearby. A half hour later, I had a working remote without some cock and bull story about my car having faulty locks! And get this, I was out the door having paid less than $85 for both the remote, and the "labor" for programming it! By the way, the "labor" actually consisted of plugging a machine into my car, and touching one button on the screen. And for that, (which took less than five minutes) Community wanted to charge me $85 and Keyes' price was $170! And remember, those prices didn't include the cost of the remote itself! Apparently, both dealerships must have thought I had the word "DUMBASS" tattooed on my forehead! Thank goodness for CK Lock! It's nice to know that there are still some businesses around that aren't looking to bullshit the customer into paying for services that are absolutely unnecessary. Needless to say, I won't be spending a dime of my hard earned money at Keyes or Community. But in the future, if I need anything having to do with locks or keys for my home or auto, I'll head to an honest establishment. I'll go straight to CK Lock! read more

Effortless isn't a word I use when trying to get anything accomplished in Los Angeles. Except for the time my wife broke her car key off in the key hole in trunk of her car and we called CK Locksmith. I emailed for a quote which I received less than an hour later and was about a third of the price I was being quoted by competitors. I was a bit skeptical just because it seemed "too good to be true". Typical LA bait and switch job coming up! But since it was a block from my crib, I figured we'd give them a shot. My wife went by the next day and not only did the broken key get extracted and a new key get made but they did it in less than five minutes and the total came in at $20 LESS than what we were originally quoted! .Impeccable service! had to use these guys again after they truly rescued me from losing my ignition and door keys...came out to my place and got 'er done, better prices by far than anyone else, and i called many. well, had a bad locked gas cap refuse to open for me a few weeks ago...was able to drive over to their office. while the guy was trying to pull out the broken off key in the gascap, the key fell out. he had to answer a phone call, and in that time i was able to get the cap off. despite him causing me to be able to remove the cap, he didn't want any money for it. of course i demanded he be paid, and he accepted $10. man, these guys are the best!!!! read more

Be careful--this company sent someone to my house who was not even employed by CK Lock and did not know the name. When I called CK Lock back they said they use "subcontractors" but did not know who came to my house. Realize this company is like a dispatcher sending other contractors it cannot vouch for. The subcontractor at my home quoted me an excessive price and a charge of $120 just to remove the lock (it took less than 20 minutes). When I realized he was not related to CK Lock, I asked him to leave. He would not leave until I paid the $120. So I did so, but will never call this company again. read more
