Last week, the pharmacy drive-up window was closed, no one in the pharmacy would answer the phone, a medication refill I ordered was canceled without explanation (happened before). I had my doctor send my scripts to Amazon Pharmacy, and they were delivered to my door in TWO DAYS. This is not an ad for Amazon Pharmacy. I mention this because of the comparative efficiency. Imagine not being able to get life-saving medication because your pharmacy is ignoring calls and canceling medication orders with no explanation. I'm done with this place.

Instead, the cashiers discussed the issue in front of customers, passing responsibility back and forth and pointing at each other about who was supposed to help me. This was unprofessional and made me feel ignored as a customer. I expected better customer service and communication. Customers should not have to wait unnecessarily or walk inside the store just to get help with a curbside pickup order. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves staff coordination, accountability, and customer service.

The store is always a little messy, customer service is average, and lines are typically a little long at the register. However, I do take advantage of their lower prices over Long Drugs (now CVS) and there are certain services I enjoy, such as ink cartridge refilling. The refills only run $12 and in contrast a new cartridge runs about $30 or more. The store stocks everything you need from a general store and has a pharmacy, that I've yet to try. My daughter had surgery this morning and the surgeon called in several medications, including one we needed to start immediately--a steroid to prevent post-operative swelling that could lead to medical complications. When I got to the pharmacy at 10am, it wasn't open. After waiting in a long line, and after they opened late, the only, overwhelmed pharmacist on duty said she was completely backed up and had just starting in on 75 orders. She refused to provide me with any information about where my daughter's prescriptions fell in the queue, but urged me not to wait for them, saying that she couldn't even ballpark when my daughter's medications would be ready and that it could take all day. I explained the medical urgency of the one prescription, but there was clearly no triage system in place and the pharmacist remained quite clear that she couldn't even provide an estimate of when it would be ready. Fortunately, I thought to call the surgeon and get the prescriptions rerouted to CVS. But this Walgreens pharmacy's poor quality still led to a medically contraindicated delay in getting my daughter the medicine she needed, increasing the chances of post-operative complications.

I have to avoid eating their ice cream. Parking is easy to find at Rite Aid. I have not seen their spaces being filled up. I will say that I have seen delivery trucks occupying the parking spaces with the unloading.

That's why I've been going to Target Pharmacy for the last few years. The head pharmacist is very nice, intelligent and knows his stuff. He is also very patient with you and will go over any questions you may have. Plus he's been there since it opened so he knows many of the customers. Last time I was there he sent me well wishes...I don't think I've heard that from anyone in customer service, it's usually "Next". They are pretty quick, usually in and out in 15-30 minutes. Nothing worse than waiting over an hour when you aren't feeling your best. Also they are pretty well priced verses other pharmacies $4 generics and most of the time they have what I need. Last they have these different color rings they place on the neck of the prescription bottles. This can be pretty helpful if you share a medicine cabinet.
