We dropped off a comforter that had a melted caramel candy imbedded in the middle it. We received a text the next day that the comforter was ready to go and it was PERFECT. When we dropped it off the employee did not know if they could remove the melted candy from the fabric but stated they would give it their best effort. We will use Citywide again in the future. I dropped off 9 shirts and a jumpsuit. I returned 2 weeks later with my ticket showing 10 items. They were unable to find one shirt and stated their computer was having problems in fact indicating that I dropped the items on 2 separate days! I was told to wait 2 weeks and then, hearing nothing, called back. After being told repeatedly that Sherry would return my call, I finally heard back after my third call. She confirmed ongoing computer issues but blamed me and her employee for human error and making a mistake with the 10 item ticket. I have been using them for more than 10 years and this is the second time they have lost items. She was very unprofessional and an exceedingly poor representative of her business. Extremely disappointed in Citywide Cleaners! I had my wedding dress picked up the first week of June. They promised I will get it back in 2-3 weeks. 6 weeks later, they called to tell me they just got the dress (?) and ask for permission to clean it. I was upset and demanded to talk to the manager. They said the manager will give me a call. Yet another 4 weeks later, I received my dress all crunched up in a tiny little box, and a huge bill. I didn't even have a chance to find out if the bill was legitimate before it was automatically deducted from my card. Again, I called and demand to talk to the manager. I was reassured that he was going to call me. I have yet to receive a call. This is not how customers should be treated. I did not authorize my card to be charged, and I definitely do not think the job was well done. Strongly recommend against using them! read more

For cleaning they are decent but I thought I would try for alterations because of convenient location. I requests my jeans be shortened and by how much and one leg is about and inch shorter than the other she. I got them home I'll go elsewhere for alterations. I have taken my rugs to evening wear to the Mt. Vernon Rd. Cleaners. I have found the day staff to be very nice and very helpful. Amy is very knowledgeable in what she does. The only problem I had was I took a men's dress shirt in with French cuffs to be cleaned and pressed, They did not pass the cuffs right, which was not the fuilt of Amy's I seen she placed a note saying that this shirt was and had FRENCH CUFFS someone down in the plant did not do their job right. This location features a convenient drive-thru so you can drop off and pick up without ever leaving your car. It's locally owned, the service is good and prices are reasonable - what more can you ask? I travel extensively and have a project in Cedar Rapids, IA and so I thought I'd drop my clothing for laundry and dry cleaning. I dropped off on a Monday for 24 hours service to pickup Tuesday since I leave again at 0630 hours on Wednesday Went to get my clothing and wasn't there, they were still at the plant. They were gracious enough for Justin to go and retrieve they for me and I did get my clothes EXCEPT for a portion of dress clothing which was actually at the store but for some reason she didn't know they were there They did find my clothing (of all pieces they had to lose was this set of my dress clothes) but issue was I already left for California and needed the clothes for a memorial service on Saturday and I leave again on Monday I got promise after promise after promise they would ship overnight They sent it ground with no excuses from Citywide. Now I won't get my clothing until next week. Travis and Justin have not been truthful to me and have never reached out to me, I have to do the follow since they really don't care how things are taken care of or how customer service is resolved If you have nothing to loose in clothing and getting the run-around doesn't bother you, please use them Otherwise I wouldn't get anywhere near them read more

I was just into the 1st Avenue location by Best Buy and I have to say that I have never seen such amazing customer service. I had a special coat with me that I was just so unsure of what to do with it and the ladies there took their time with me and went over the coat front to back and gave me some suggestions. It's so easy to just take the item in and risk damaging it, but I couldn't have been happier with the information I received. I have been a customer for a few years, but I don't do a lot of cleaning and I can assure you that I will be back more often. I asked them for their names because the management team needs to know what kind of employees they have working for them. I was amazed to find out that Tammy, the store manager and Jen, the customer service manager were the ones helping out. Great job!!!! read more

This place is CRAZY expensive, pays no attention to missing buttons, and unfortunately is the only place in town that actually does dry cleaning in-house after the flood. I believe that all the competition has to send their stuff here. My advice? Drive to Iowa City. read more
