Did a great job with my alterations. They are busy but quality so worth the wait of a few weeks for order completion! They did a nice job.

I needed a bridesmaid dress hemmed and some tacks moved for a wedding I am in this summer. I dropped my dress off, got the measurements done and left it there. Price was never discussed during the initial process at all, which I can take some blame for for not asking. The dress took 2.5 weeks to be done. It was well done. The problem I have is the pricing. The dress itself cost me less than $120 and when I picked the dress up, the alterations cost me $175. It was quite shocking. Again, well done alterations but is expensive. Merci's Tailoring did a fantastic job on a men's winter coat for me and I highly recommend them as a skilled tailor!!! The coat is vintage, having belonged to our grandfather and still in good shape, very nice warm wool, though the buttons needed replacement and the silk lining had gotten torn and worn out over the years. I consulted with Merci's about the materials needed because I wanted to gift the coat to the next generation. After I selected and provided new material and buttons, Merci's Tailoring began their magic, constructing the new lining and breathing new life into our grandfather's coat!!! Hidden gem! A couple years ago I had a bridesmaid dress ordered that ended up being 4 sizes too big (yikes). Took it to Merci's with little hope that it would ever look good on me. With such a disaster of a dress, they worked their magic and it looked as great as it could given the circumstances (I mean this dress needed some massive fixing)! Fast forward to now - took another bridesmaid dress in to get altered and they called 2 days later letting me know it was done! Impressive!!! And of course the alteration looked great. Scheduling with them is a breeze - you can call OR Facebook message them (the option I chose). Super easy. They are also being very safe with COVID - only allowing one customer in at a time (hence the appointment scheduling), hand sanitizer right when you enter as well as on the counter, and everyone is masked. read more

This place is amazing. A hidden gem in Cedar Rapids. They did beautiful work repairing a beloved jacket that my son's dog used as a chew toy.You would never know it happened. This place really knows what they're doing. Located in the back lower level of a business complex. It seems a little weird walking by an insurance company with their door open whilst carrying a huge dress, but once you get into the tailoring business itself it seems very professional. I've come here on several occasions when a dress was too big to have it taken in, or when a prom dress was too long, and I couldn't even tell the dress had been altered, it seemed like it was made just for me! The seams were fantastic. The people there are incredibly nice and friendly, and seem very professional. The pricing is a little high, I've had dresses that cost 40 dollars to alter, and dresses that were extremely full that were 100. But I feel with the quality of the work, and the staff, you really get what you pay for. read more

A family shop feel, for quality and professionalism unparalleled anywhere else. My experience was WONDERFUL. the staff is all very friendly and professional. They will answer any and all questions, no such thing as a dumb question to them. They are very flexible with the schedule and are willing to "bend over backwards" to accommodate your availability. The neighborhood may not be what you expect for a tailor shop, but once you walk in it is professional and inviting. Would highly recommend! Had my wedding so suit and all my groomsmen fitted here.
