Update: Citymove just did another flawless job for us. We very deliberately didn't bother checking with anyone else, just went directly back to Citymove. I don't try to set up complicated moves, but somehow that's the kind I seem to specialise in; there were so many ways this move could have been an enormous pain, but it wasn't at all--because Warren and his crew handled it efficiently, carefully, promptly, and professionally, just like before. They are positively craftsmanlike in every aspect of their work. Clear and honest communication, clear and reasonable pricing, zero damage. There's just not even the smallest reason to complain here. I'd give 'em six stars if I could! I repeat myself also on this point: if you will ask and take Warren's advice about what kinds of boxes to use (and what kinds *not* to use), your move will be faster, safer, and easier for everyone involved, including you. read more

Arranged a move, set the date and paid my $200 deposit. On the booked date they didn't show at the arranged time (8am) and I thought they were delayed. Tried calling them and weee unable to reach them. Emailed and no reply by 11am I was in a full panic and started looking for another mover. I ended up finding another mover who was able to move me 2 days later but cost me an additional $1000 and I had to pay my landlord a additional $300 out of my security deposit for not being out of my unit in time so what should have been a $500 move ended up costing me $1500 in total. I have never heard back from the asshole Warren after I gave him my deposit and I have also filed a police report for Fraud with the VPD. Warren is a scam artist you should stay away from at all costs! read more

Great team, very punctual and profesional. They arrived early, and spent time talking through the details of the move. Would use them again.

Used Citymove yesterday for a short distance move. From start to finish, they were fantastic. Smooth and efficient, they definitely knew what they were doing - from loading to unloading and carrying boxes in special large bins. Everything was handled with care - especially the furniture. They arrived 30 minutes early and got to work right away. Not the cheapest moving company, but certainly worth the extra money for a job done right. read more

Hiring City Move last weekend to help with my move was the best decision I ever made! Warren communicated all the fees clearly from the beginning. They arrived 30 minutes before our scheduled start time giving them time to park and unload the truck. The exact start time of billing was agreed upon and everything went smoothly from there. Thanks again Warren & Roger. I highly recommend City Move read more

These guys moved us way back in 2013 and I'm just realizing now how good they were. We had a newborn baby and they made it virtually stress-free. Our more recent movers contrasted this, wasting time, damaging furniture, talking about Jesus, and just generally highlighting how great their competitors are. What's more, our tab with Citymove was less than the cut-rate place that only moved a few big items and left an antique armoire damaged. So sad I didn't book these guys earlier, because they're the ones you'd want to move your stuff! read more

Warren and the crew did an excellent job for me earlier this week. They were to-the-minute on time for the appointment and didn't stop moving the entire move. Being up front and clear was a big deal for me and Warren was impeccable. Everything was clearly explained using small words as it happened. Can't recommend Citymove enough. They made it an amazingly easy experience for me. read more

Citymove - The Original - Movers Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

We had bad luck moving with this business. I had moved several times over the years and this move took about twice as long as normal, it was just painfully slow, the owner wasted time at every opportunity. There are no separate fees for this and that, but the wasted time more than makes up for it. When it came to paying, he would not accept credit card despite what his website says. He demanded email transfer and became rather aggressive. Very unpleasant (and expensive) experience. read more

I contacted Warren based on the reviews on Yelp. I hired a 3 men crew (Warren was one of the 3 movers) to move my 2 bedroom plus den from Yaletown to a storage locker in Richmond and he showed up 15 minutes before the scheduled time. They are extremely organized and have all the tools to get the move done efficiently. We packed everything ourselves before hand and Warren was quite impressed with our packing and it definitely helped speed up the process (=money). They worked extremely hard and fast. I was planning to oversee and supervisor everything but Warren had everything under control and he was very specific about telling his employees which pieces are fragile and how to pack them in the truck. I ended up just standing around doing nothing and even had time to sneak out to do errands while they moved. My building security person told me that he was very impressed with how careful they are with my stuff downstairs and would tell others about Citymove, which gave me assurance that they weren't just acting careful in front of me. They also arrived at my storage unit fairly quickly and did not drag out the travel time. Everything was done perfectly and nothing was damaged, which was my main concern as I have a lot of expensive furniture. I highly recommend their service, and I am not one that gives out 5 star reviews. Warren can be quite busy so it can be a bit of a challenge to reach him, but I find calling and leaving a message works better than e-mailing. If I have to find a negative, that would be it. At the end of the day, he did everything he promised and did them exceptionally well. read more

We just finished the biggest move of our lives so far, which can be such a hectic and daunting process. Thank goodness for the guys at Citymove! They got our huge load of stuff out of the old place and into the new without a hiccup. Nothing was broken, everything was put into the right spot at the new house and it was a smooth and easy process. This is our third time using these guys and every time they have been punctual, pleasant and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Three cheers for Citymove! read more

We've used Warren and Citymove twice within the past six months. First he moved the contents of our one bedroom condo from one location to another in Yaletown in late October 2013 and more recently he did an office furniture move for me in the Mt. Pleasant area in late January. Warren takes his job VERY seriously. He communicates well, comes prepared with an incredible set of moving equipment and is very conscientious of your belongings and the buildings you are moving from and in to. When the move is completed he emails you a copy of the invoice immediately. His rates are right in line with other quotes I obtained. If you are moving a lot of stuff I recommend you use a three man crew rather than two as the extra body really speeds up the process. read more

Nothing but good things to say! At first I thought the standard 80-100/hr rate was a lot , then I met three guys and it made perfect sense. The two movers and the driver were all warm and friendly, and the move was prompt and snappy. Most of all, I had peace of mind on a pretty important day ^^ I would recommend them to any of my friends and I'm sure I'll use them in the future. read more

The job was to move various pieces of furniture and household items from two different locations to a 1-bedroom apartment. The entire process was very efficient and professional, quick and painless. They had all the necessary tools - trolleys, mattress covers, door stops, everything! They took great care to make sure everything was packed and moved the best way possible, and everything was tied down securely in their truck to make sure things didn't fly around when they were driving from A to B. I've used other moving companies in the past and none of them have the same level of attention to detail as Citymove! Items were damaged, things flew around in the truck because it wasn't tied down securely... but with Citymove you definitely get what you pay for... peace of mind. Very detail oriented in finding out all the necessary information about my move beforehand. Confirmation emails were sent to confirm time and location; and they even called me well in advance to ask if it was OK if they could come earlier since they expected to finish a prior job early... which was fine by me! Felt like no matter if the job was big or small, they treat each job with the highest level of professionalism and courtesy. Would definitely recommend them for any moving job, and I'll be using them again in the future if I have other jobs. read more

Warren and his crew were great! Explained everything clearly. Had shrink wrap for loose stuff. Definitely one of the better movers in the city! Wouldnt hesitate to use them again! read more

Perhaps if Warren handled the move, rather than 2 junior staff, the experience would have been better. The security guards at both the old and new places commented, without invitation, that the movers were "not good". read more

Had a fantastic experience working with Warren and his team. Can't say more about a friendly bunch of guys, who are careful, provide suggestions, and are prompt (were actually early on our moving day). Everything was as they had quoted, and they got everything where it needed to be efficiently and in one piece, with some good conversation thrown in as well. A polite team who carefully introduced themselves, and were careful and considerate of our items, as well as the properties we were moving out of/into. I will most definitely use CityMove again, and will recommend Warren and his team to all my friends. PS: I called them on really short notice (like, the week before), and they were able to make time for our move. That's great service! read more

Prompt, professional, tidy, and helpful. I've moved a number of times, and Warren + his crew were good. They were upfront with their costs, which appreciate, and always very quick to respond to any questions or comments. read more

Warren and crew were just awesome. I had a 3300 sq.ft. home with lots of seriously heavy furniture. Some required 3 or 4 men to lift. City move handled it all and packed up 2 five ton trucks loaded to the brim. Not a scratch or any damage at all. I highly recommend Citymove for a full house move. read more

No doubt one of the best moving experiences I've had, thanks to Citymove. Warren and his colleague Stefan were great. They showed up before time, Got stuff loaded in the truck ASAP and we were done with the move in 3 hours. Both were very friendly and made sure everything was moved with zero damage. Its great to do business with people who know their shit. Definitely recommended. read more

Though they were careful and wrapped everything very carefully, they took way longer than I felt they should have for a two bedroom (7 hours!) when I moved a block away. They dented my wall and although accidents happen and I don't think they were intentionally trying to scam me... I think they are really slow and wouldn't recommend them read more

We used Warren and his crew at City Move for another move and I'm inspired to write another review -- they really are that good. They last moved us during a snowstorm in January; since that time we've gained another child :P I'm so impressed. They show up on time (or early), work like dogs, remain calm when I'm losing my mind, are careful with my stuff, and at the end the quote matches the end price. You really can't ask for more in a moving company. Another successful City Move. read more

Warren and Jordan from Citymove got us all moved into our new place this weekend and I can't recommend them highly enough. They arrived early, got our furniture and boxes packed into their van carefully and efficiently, and were amazing when it came to carrying everything upstairs at our new elevator-less apartment. It was $370 to move a large one-bedroom and the rate was more than fair- it took them only a few hours what would have taken us all day to move, and they did a fantastic job of it. We will definitely be calling them again for future moves! read more

Would love to give these guys a glowing review as they came highly recommended. But that would be dependent upon them actually contacting us back to arrange for a quote. We tried their online form twice and called twice. Once we even talked to them & were promised a call back (that, sadly, never came). I'm sure they're busy and all but it's too bad they never got back - we would have liked to have used them! read more

My girlfriend and I hired Citymove to help us move and it was a great experience. Warren and his team definitely know what they are doing and handled everything with care. Warren gave me some tips on packing certain things a better way for the future which was nice. I would recommend them to anybody who is considering hiring movers - they work very fast, showed up on time, and were super helpful. read more

I moved last month from East Vancouver to Gastown with the help of Citymove and I would absolutely recommend their services. They were upfront about the costs, right on time on the day of the move, and very professional and polite. Their prices were absolutely reasonable as well. They had a bag for my mattress, as well as large bins to secure odd-shaped items, and everything went off without a hitch. The only comments I have regarding areas for improvement are (and these are very minor things) was a little bit of a lack of urgency (I think one of the movers may have been new and still being trained, which is noticeable when they're on the clock), as well as white lampshades that they offered to move got dirty and will need to be replaced (should have gone with my gut and moved them myself!). Other than that, great company, really nice guys, and exactly what you want out of movers: on time and professional. I have already recommended them to a girlfriend and would recommend them to anyone else looking to move. A really positive experience overall, and the next time I move they will be my first choice. read more

Is this place still open? I have used this company a couple years ago, they were great. Now however, I have been trying to contact them, but they never answer or return calls, do not reply to the website contact option. I mean if your busy, good for you, but perhaps they could just rerun the call and say that. Good thing they are not the only ones in town. read more

These guys are true professionals. They're friendly and gave us a great tip about an IKEA recall as well. I would diffenatly use Citymove again! read more

I will echo the other recent reviews. Warren and the guys did an amazing job at short notice and arriving early. The truck was immaculate and well organized inside. I will not hesitate to use Citymove again. Care was taken and highly professional. THANK YOU. Gillian G read more

I will never move without the help of professional movers ever again! This was my first time using movers and Citymove came recommended from a friend. My experience using this company reflects that of all of the reviews on Yelp - Warren is a consummate professional that is dedicated to doing a good job and helping everything run smoothly. I had a crew of two with Warren assisting. My one bedroom worth of goods was moved out of my old place and into my own in a few short hours. As with other reviewers, the crew arrived early, they were professional, considerate, friendly and did a fantastic job. I would not hesitate to hire them again or recommend them to my friends. Moving can be such a stressful experience and the help of punctual, efficient movers can make all the difference in the world. Thanks again Citymove! read more

We had Warren and his partner, Stephan, help me move our 1 bdroom. and it went smooth, easy and relaxed-minus the rain. They helped cover our couch, bed, mirrors and any other furniture that needed extra protection. I'd 100% recommend them to anyone in the city moving. Thanks again Warren! L & D :) read more

Seriously, an awesome experience all around. From booking the truck to moving day, no complaints. Warren and his 2 guys were on time, professional and worked quickly. They came prepared with all of the necessary tools. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the experience. They made a rather stressful day painless. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future. read more

What kind of moving company doesn't move from Vancouver to Richmond. 30 minute drive and their not willing to do it?!? I got a referral for them, but would say that from the short conversation i had with the fellow on the phone, i wouldn't recommend them. read more

The experience started out well, as Warren scheduled a visit to review my move. As I was doing my packing myself, he gave me tips on where to get the best deal on boxes and also some ideas on how to get rid of some furniture that I didn't want. That was the end of the good experience. He indicated he'd get back to me with a quote and date. He was unsure if he could do my preferred date but I indicated we could do it earlier or later. And then I never heard from him again. After emailing several times, I called and did connect and he told me he could no longer do it. ??? I wasted 10 days thinking he was going to do my move. Instead I contacted Go Truck Go who were fantastic!! read more

If I could give Warren and City Move 10 stars, I would. Warren and his team at City Move are amazing!! I've moved all over the world and worked with dozens of movers. This was honestly the best move experience I've ever had. I told Warren, "Everything about this move was difficult - except working with you." I had a "murphy's law" move where pretty much every roadblock that could have surfaced appeared. And every time one did, Warren worked with me to problem solve and figure out how to make it work. Warren was professional and patient. He took numerous phone calls from me while he was on vacation in Mexico to help finagle some creative solutions when some last-minute problems arose. He even took my calls on Christmas Eve. I think most movers would have given up, but he didn't. His problem solving saved the day. In addition, he was super careful with my things, as well as with the walls/floors of the apartment. He and his team were polite and considerate. I know how worrisome it can be to choose movers - wondering if they will be professional, trustworthy, careful, considerate, and punctual. If that's what you are looking for, you've found your movers with City Move. read more

I have moved 6 times in the last 10 years and have always rented a truck myself and recruited friends to help. Never again! I used CityMove this time and I'll be calling them for my next move without question. Warren was very professional and hires great young guys to help him out. My wife and I had our boxes ready to go and Warren wrapped up our furniture, protecting everything and strapping it securely in his truck. $450 to move a two bedroom apartment and worth every penny. Highly recommended. read more

I highly recommend this moving company. They are professional, accomodating, courteous, careful, and have very good rates. Not only do they care about keeping your things undamaged and intact, they care about making sure it is put in the right place. I would strongly suggest adding a third person in addition to the standard two movers. I am so glad I went with Citymove. read more

Ok I'm fussy and like having people being up front and honest with me. So dealing with Warren and Roger was great. Warren was straight with me on how things were going to be and it was great that my 2 floor walk up didn't cause any gripes or complaints. They took their time to do it right the first time which is what is best. They were very organized and efficient. Finishing on time! Thanks so much and so happy. read more

Great job by Warren and his team. We had a very tight stairwell to try to fit a king bed up and with some straps and a lot of brute force they managed to get it up there. Basically fitting a square peg into a round hole for lack of a better description. The guys went non-stop which was great considering we paid by the hour. Nice having to only pay a 1/2 hour travel time instead of the full hour most charge. They were careful with our items and used wrap and blankets to protect furniture. Highly recommend. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company. It poured rain during our move and they were phenomenal. They covered ALL of our belongings with blankets so that nothing got wet, they wore booties in our home so our carpets didn't get trashed. Professional, nice, hard working. These guys didn't stop for a moment. And definitely trustworthy with our belongings. Pay the extra money, get the best movers in the city. I will only use these movers in any future moves. Thanks Warren and team. Appreciate the amazing service we received on Saturday! read more

These guys are it period. Don't waste time on any other movers! :) Warren is the man!
