“Went here for a leak in one of my back tires and they patched it up in what was probably less than 20 minutes for a great price.”

I had driven on a flat, and if you're unaware, this can rapidly degrade the quality of your drive. You can wear a CB joint, your axel, or your rotor, if I recall, and too much wear on these can do immense damage to your car's future. I had replaced two of my tires and still felt a wobble. How could it be the tires, I thought? This is why College Street Motors' experience comes into play. The car might as well be a multi-piece orchestra, with brake drums, piston percussion, and wheel woodwinds. I don't intend to go over the top with this metaphor, because it sounds like a bunch of noise and shaking for me. The mechanic left me a very detailed note, describing how there was nothing more discernible than the loud noise coming from the tires I had yet to replace. No wobbling due to damage to other parts of the car. Plus, I believe they warranty their work, maybe I'm just thinking of my AAA membership. After my tires were replaced, I was relieved at how right they were. As internal combustion engine drivetrain cars are complex, so are electrical cars in their own way. It's a world I have yet to get into, or may never dig deep enough to really gain a foothold of experience. Luckily, there're mechanics just down the street for me that took only a bit of time to diagnose the problem, find a tire match for the ones I had just gotten new, and then both install and balance. I bet their experience pays dividends to other customers, too, who are hoping to make sense of a new problem with little labor and diagnostics. Thank you all, even the pickup with your front desk team was pleasant.

I said you didn't even diagnose what was wrong with tire, you just automatically went to get money out of me. I said there is only one place I can get an honest opinion and that is Duffy Tire. They are Northampton's first tire company established over 50 years ago before the big chains came in with there slick advertising to lure you in with there low prices. Well the old saying still stands ,you get what you pay for.Jim Duffy has been working for his father since he was 9 years old.Nobody knows more about tires than Jim Duffy.Jim did a full inspection on the tire and said you must of hit one of those sewer holes raised above the road during construction on Prospect street and popped the seal. I'll take care of that real quick. Tire has been good ever since. I asked what do I owe you, he said nothing, I take care of my long term loyal customers. I'll know you'll be back. It's the free benefits that Jim Duffy gives his customers that in the long term makes him really the lowest price, most honest tire service company in Northampton. So before you jump at the slick gimmicks the others offer, I say go with the best and the Hell with the rest.So after your happy and satisfied please leave a positive Google review for Jim. The more positive reviews he gets the more business he will get. Thank you for your cooperation loyal customers. Thank God for Jim Duffy's Honesty and Integrity and Trustworthiness.

When I arrived, Firestone really stepped up to the plate. They were very professional, friendly, open and honest. I am recently out of grad school, and in June I had just started my first big job when my ancient car needed a lot of things replaced all at once. I drive everywhere to work in peoples' homes for the work that I do. It was devastating because I was also up for inspection. They knew that I didn't have the money or time right away, but they gave me as much help as possible over the span of two weeks. They waived a lot of fees because the cost of my repairs was going to be quite high. In addition they gave me a free (except for insurance) rental car for work when I needed it. Also when I ventured off into Hadley on foot during a 5 hour stretch of repairs, they personally came to pick me up and took me home out of courtesy. Firestone really did me a solid and didn't make me pay for anything unexpected or unreasonable, e.g. they replaced a very expensive part for free because I was already paying a lot and it just so happened that my car was so poorly made/warped that even the pipes ordered from the dealer didn't fit into my car's converter. I feel more comfortable going to these guys than anyone else after that experience and I have been recommending them to people since. My car has been running well since the repairs, and I appreciated the very welcoming and understanding service.

The Monro in Northampton told me my right-front wheel bearing is bad. They went so far as to tell me not to drive it, for safety reasons. Then they quoted me a nearly $500 fix that I couldn't afford. So I've been driving it for almost two weeks utterly petrified that it's going to fall apart at any second. I decided on a second opinion so I brought it to Route 9 Auto. I was seen immediately and the first thing he did was quote me a much more reasonable and affordable price for fixing the wheel bearing. That was awesome. But then, after we brought the car in and put it up, he diagnosed that the wheel bearing is actually fine. I do have some suspension wear I am going to have to deal with, but my wheel isn't about to fall off my car. I did have a sightly bent rim, so he swapped it with a rear tire and the thing rides fine now. And he didn't even charge me. As a woman, I get a lot of bullshit at mechanics. I'm not particularly car-savvy but I'm not stupid, and if you tell me what is wrong with my car I will, in fact, understand you. You're talking about cars, not lapsing into archaic Latin. It's exhausting to have to second-guess every mechanic you talk to. I don't second-guess Route 9 Auto. I know I don't have to. I've always been taken seriously, I've never felt jerked around, and I appreciate having things explained to me in plain language. Most of all, I appreciate the honesty. First stop when things go wrong, from now on.

Great place, no BS…read more This Spring, my tire pressure light kept coming on. Following an oil change, Firestone told me I needed new tires & could be losing air d/t worn treads. I knew my treads were in decent condition & that the explanation was total BS. After checking out the positive reviews on Yelp, I decided to see what Pete's had to say. At my first appointment, Pete's confirmed my treads and tires looked fine. They topped off the air & we agreed the car's sensor seemed sensitive to minor pressure changes. A couple weeks later the light was back on. I stopped by without an appointment & they took me right in. The pressure was low in one tire, they filled it & sent me on my way. I felt they were dismissive of the on-going tire pressure problem but was happy w/ the (free!) service. I started ignoring the sensor, added air to my tire every couple of weeks & was fine for a few months. A few days ago, a different tire started leaking more dramatically. I made an appointment reporting two leaky tires, one fast & one slow. They found 3 nails causing the fast leak & an old plug causing the slow leak. They fixed both & again charged nothing! While I'm a little disappointed they didn't identify the slow leak sooner, I'm thoroughly impressed with the fact they never tried to sell me a tire! They've earned my recommendation & future business.
