Went in for a tire repair. Staff were super friendly and efficient :) overall great service and fair pricing.

Service Technicians do not check to make sure lug nuts are tightened before they call you to pick up your vehicle. I have 4 tires put on. Was called and told my vehicle was finished and ready for pickup. After driving started to hear a whapping noise around one tire. Had it looked at. Found out that 2 of the 5 lug nuts about fell right off and a 3rd was one twist before falling off. I spoke with the manager and stated my concerns. He apologized and said he would talk to his staff about this. I told him this is unacceptable as people are trusting you with their vehicles. When you say its ready for pickup, they assume it ready to be driven. I'm just glad I didn't drive far and didn't have my children with me. The person I had look at it afterwards stated if 1 more fell off, it would have been a lot worse for me. Luckily nothing else was damaged. read more

Right after they put four new tires on my car, my tire sensor light went on. When I called, the guy replied, "Put some more air in your tires. If the light's still on, you have a faulty sensor. Four other people called us about faulty sensors this week." What a...coincidence?! I went to a mechanic who said one of the tires was dangerously over-inflated (11 pounds over the psi). He fixed that, and the sensor light went off. Which means A) Pete's over-inflated my tire, B) Their first suggestion was to add yet more air, which suggests that they weren't careful about getting the tire pressure right during installation, and C) They were keen to blame the sensor light on my car -- and four other customers' cars! - rather than to consider taking responsibility. read more

Blew out a trailer tire on 91 and needed a quick fix. Brought the tire in while a super nice Trooper sat by my trailer on the highway. I was back with a new tire in 15 minutes. The trooper was amazed. Pete's was professional and accommodating and I couldn't recommend them more highly. read more

I ordered Michelin Tweels (no air tires), for my zero turn mowers rear wheels from Pete's Tire Barn in Orange MA. I got good assistance on the phone in determining which part number would fit my mower and they were delivered quickly to me in FL. A few weeks later, I decided to order the smaller front caster tweels for my mower, and research showed I needed spacers to make it fit OEM to my specific mower, so I ordered the spacers too. I got the shipping notice 1 day later but then also got notice that I was being refunded the amount that the separate ordered spacers cost. At first I was disappointed thinking they were out of stock on the spacers, until I saw a notation on the refund notice saying "Spacers included, no need to order separate" Now to me, that is good customer service that they pay enough attention to detail and notice the small things and saved me $42! We had a leaking fron tire on an RV we rented that needed to be reparied before we could continue on our trip. It was a commercial tire that could only be handled by a group like Pete's and not one of the retail sales groups. They jumped on the issue right away, pulled the tire and checked to find the valve cover sensor was leaking, removed it and put in air in before i coudl get a cup of coffee. Great place, no BS. This Spring, my tire pressure light kept coming on. Following an oil change, Firestone told me I needed new tires & could be losing air d/t worn treads. I knew my treads were in decent condition & that the explanation was total BS. After checking out the positive reviews on Yelp, I decided to see what Pete's had to say. At my first appointment, Pete's confirmed my treads and tires looked fine. They topped off the air & we agreed the car's sensor seemed sensitive to minor pressure changes. A couple weeks later the light was back on. I stopped by without an appointment & they took me right in. The pressure was low in one tire, they filled it & sent me on my way. I felt they were dismissive of the on-going tire pressure problem but was happy w/ the (free!) service. I started ignoring the sensor, added air to my tire every couple of weeks & was fine for a few months. A few days ago, a different tire started leaking more dramatically. I made an appointment reporting two leaky tires, one fast & one slow. They found 3 nails causing the fast leak & an old plug causing the slow leak. They fixed both & again charged nothing! While I'm a little disappointed they didn't identify the slow leak sooner, I'm thoroughly impressed with the fact they never tried to sell me a tire! They've earned my recommendation & future business. read more

I can't recommend this place enough. I was at Jiffy lube getting an oil change when I was talking to a random woman about how I had a donut on my car bc I had a flat tire the night before. She said to absolutely go to Pete's Tire Barn the next plaza over, for a new tire and I'm SO glad I did. Not only did they sell me a new tire, didn't charge me for labor, and I was out in 15 minutes; BUT when I left my ID there by accident, they mailed it to me. So nice! I wish I found this place sooner. I paid $69 for the tire where I'm used to paying ~$120 including labor and I always get the least expensive one. I came in today after finding that I had a nail in my tire they told me it would be $ 10 to fix so I left it there while shopping when I came back it was all fixed and they said I was all set I said told the man at the counter I did jot pay yet he said its all set and come back in 50 miles for us to tighten the lug nuts read more

New car needed new tires. Since I had time I priced checked in person a couple of places in Greenfield, Orange, Northampton and Amherst. The best price here at Pete's for the mid ranged tires I asked for. Several other places tried to upsell me straight off the bat, despite being very clear on the middle of the road tires, I wanted for my middle of the road car. Walked into the Northampton Petes and they had a two hour wait. Service was slow because they were ridiculously busy so bring a book or plan to drop it off instead of hanging around. Left my car there and checked back. The counter staff were busy, polite and knowledgeable. The guys they had working in the bays were non stop busy and seemed to really enjoy working there/together. I wish they would take appointments.... however they got my car in and out along with a ton of other customers and since I don't buy tires often it really wasn't too bad to wait. read more

Whenever I have an issue with tires I use Pete's Tire Barn. They are simply the best! Yesterday I had a slow leak in my left front tire, and they found a nail in the tire, not only did they repair it in 10 minutes, they did not charge me a penny for the repair. There tires are more than reasonable as well if you purchase new tires. I live in Springfield, and I will travel to Northampton to use them, impressive! read more

Fast, efficient, and HONEST. They could easily have sold me a $90 tire, because I was leery (unnecessarily) of the flat that AAA had put in the trunk after attaching the donut almost a month earlier. I had driven almost 3 miles with a semi-flat, thinking that my steering was at fault, ending up with I'd guess less than 10psi and what seemed to me was a damaged sidewall. I said I was so leery of it, I'd buy a new tire no matter what. Pete's assured me the tire checked out OK. And they charged me nothing for the service. Next time I need a tire I'll go to Pete's even if I have to get AAA to tow me the max 100 miles for which I'm covered! read more

Literally the worst tire place in the Valley. They put my snow tire on wrong, causing it to become flat. Instead of bending over backwards to fix their mistake, they blamed it on a "pin hole" in the tire, which could've easily been caused by their mistake.I believe they gave me a discount for the new tire, so that was nice. But I will never return. read more

Bought tires here for the first time recently and I'm pleased, it was a much better experience than I've had at some other tire places. I stopped in for a price quote thinking I may need 4 tires, and they were honest enough to tell me that two of my tires still looked fine. I was then quoted a very reasonable price for 2 good quality tires (not crappy off brand ones) which already included things like mounting, valve-stems and disposal that most other tire places seem to tack on later. When I returned ready to buy, they were too busy to squeeze me in but I was able to make an appointment for another day. When I showed up for the appointment, they waved me right into the bay and I was impressed to see that they had the tires I wanted all ready to go, I was in and out in under 20 minutes. I'm glad I read M W's earlier review because I also asked about the UMass alumni discount and saved even more off what already felt like a great deal. read more

I would definitely not recommend them! They messed up my tire order, which resulted in me waiting for a week and not getting the tires when I needed them. Joe, the manager, was extremely rude and unhelpful in resolving the problem. Lots of other place to go in Northampton area! read more
