Mozzarella sticks are not worth the money. I have had city slice since it opened next to campus back in 2019ish. It was me and my best friend's comfort meal. Now in 2025 it has moved to the old pluckers with a limited menu. While the food was good and hot. I felt that the mozzarella sticks are not worth the price and the sweet tea was old (taste wise). Service was great! HATED that ALL of the TVs were on the same red zone channel on a Sunday afternoon. I would rather be stuck watching one game than watching 15 seconds of every game. This was my fav pizza place on LSU campus. I loved this pizza spot that used to be on W. Chimes on campus but for those that don't know, they've relocated to Nicholson drive. The service was great and the vibe is nice. There are some menu modifications like the initial smoked wings now being fried and a slight variation in the wing sauces. The new pizza crust has too much cornmeal in the recipe. The old thin crust was the way to go with minimal cornmeal if it had it at all before. Cheese sticks were slightly burnt at the bottom and too much cornmeal in its crust also. Wings were good but my family and I prefer the smoked vs fried a hundred times over. Hot honey wing sauce was delicious. Decent visit overall but honestly not a huge fan of the food changes other than the location. Will try again soon. read more

My brother and I stopped by City Slice for a quick snack after our busy day. We saw that city slice seemed to be pretty quiet as there weren't many people eating at the time we went. Upon sitting down, it took a while for a server to come by us. Which, would be understandable if there were a ton of people in the restaurant, but it wasn't busy. Once a server came, we ordered sodas and a pizza. It took literally 10 minutes to get our drinks... The servers never really checked on us. We also never received plates. Once our pizza came out, the server just walked away before we could even ask for plates. We tried to get her attention, but alas. We ate off of napkins. The pizza was pretty good. We did a "Build-your-own" and the order was correct. I'm appalled at the lack of attentiveness in the service. We felt like such an after thought to our server. Which is unfortunate. After seeing the other reviews, I really hope they can tighten up on service. It wasn't busy, so it made it even more bothersome. Also- there were so many tables that were never cleaned. The pizza was really good, just the right sauce, good cheese, a generous amount of pepperoni, and a crust that is not too thick or thin with a good crunch. I've always enjoyed the food, but the inside is extremely unkept, with boxes and junk just lying around, bathroom is not very clean, and the staff is pretty inattentive. Hell no! Do not go! To start off all of the tables were very wobbly and not stable. There weren't many people in there and our pizza took 30 minutes to come out. When that pie finally did come out, it was drenched in grease. No crunch to the bite, just soggy wet bread. Very very disappointing. I would compare the pizza to a Chuck E. Cheese pizza. 2/10 pie. Brought the leftovers home to give to my dog, even he turned his nose up at it. Don't bother coming here, grab a slice at the gas station instead. A few weeks ago I went back to City Slice for the first time in forever and it was better than I remember it! I was with 3 other people so we decided to split the 24 inch pizza which was massive. It took up the whole table but it was just such a good deal to split amongst us. The fighting tiger pizza was delicious as were the garlic knots we ordered (not pictured). That was my first time ordering the garlic knots but they were so worth and are a must try! Their ranch was pretty good too. The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars was the service. The restaurant wasn't very packed when we went, but it still took about 20+ minutes to get someone to even ask what we wanted to drink and then even when we would ask for something it still took so long for us to get it. I will start this review by saying I give so much grace to local restaurants and their staff especially with empathy for service workers coming from the industry. That being said theres nothing more vexing than dealing with such an apathetic and incompetent staff that couldn't be bothered to fix their mistakes. An empty bar and ample opportunity to cultivate a great experience there is no effort. The final straw was ordering food for homeless people for the storm and having it not be put in, no moment of trying to fix the inconvenience, and still interacting with friends at the bar while interacting with a disgruntled guest. Baton Rouge offers mediocre pizza everywhere the difference is other places try in every other aspect. By the way taking shots before fulfilling obligations to your guest is a poor representation. I'd rather be served by vitamin deficient mice. read more

I've never in my life been to a place with worse service. I'm 100% positive a chicken could serve me more successfully than any worker I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. I've only had the fighting tiger pizza, but I can say that I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was! It was loaded with lots of meat. The andouille, Italian sausage and bacon is what made it so tasty. The crust had good flavor and consistency as well. I can't speak for all the other pizzas or food, but the fighting tiger is a tasty meat pizza that I highly recommend. I hope to come back soon and order the exact same thing. read more

Always a good experience at City Slice. We like the Heisman, the GOAT, and the Fighting Tiger. Also the Suge Pano cheesy garlic bread for an appetizer. The tacos are nothing to sneeze at as well if you aren't a pizza fan. Their association with the other restaurants in the group, particularly City Pork, means the bacon, sausage, etc. on the pizzas are exceptional. Pizza and Trivia Tuesday nights are fun, although sometimes the pace of the game is slow for our tastes, and the bracketing system sometimes yields weird results. Note you can't get the 24" pizzas to go because they don't have boxes that big. read more

Came in and there was no wait. It is perfect for a game day place right on the heart of LSU, chimes street. The tables are a little jam packed but I guess that's to handle any crowds that might be coming in soon during game time. There are several TVs which I think will bring them in some big bucks in a couple of months. This place just opened Tuesday by the way and it's already moving and hustling like it's been in business for months. We came in and ordered two apps to try and the custom pizza. The pizza options are perfect. I love that you get a 16 inch pizza with three toppings of choice (and it's a pretty good list of options) for 15 bucks. Easily enough to share among two to three people. Maybe four. I hate cheese logs but theirs were so good. The smoked wings were just right and if you get the bbq wings they are sweet and quite yummy. The crust on the pizza is delish and the pizza itself is a little thin but it is yummy. They have a bar as well. I didn't try anything but I will on the next visit. This place should last a while as the service is down pack and the food is pretty darn good. Ask for Kayla to be your waitress and you'll thank me later. read more

I went here with a group of friends and my boyfriend. It was a great place to go with a bunch of couples and friends. They were very accommodating to large groups which made it great. I ordered a frozee which was rose, vodka and strawberries. Which was absolutely delicious. My friend got the Italian bloody which is probably the best Bloody Mary I have ever had. Another friend had the hummingbird which was yummy as well. I would come back here just for the drinks. The group ordered a white clam pizza chicken pesto pizza and a duck bacon pizza as well as one other pizza and an antipasto. The pizzas are perfect for two people to share one which is awesome. The pizzas were divine honestly I'm such a hard grader but these pizzas are the best in town. The crust is perfect and the cheese is on point. They are owned by the same people as city pork and that means their meats are super fresh. The only problem I have and it's so nit picky is that the crust that is the flat part of the pizza was too thin so that some of the toppings would basically cause the pizza to fall apart which is fine if ur a fork and knifer but true pizza lovers know I must pick it up so the fact it's hard to do so does take away from this review. So thankful for late night options like this. My party of 4 needed some grub after a Friday night football game and finally got to give this place a try, since it was open until midnight. We shared an order of mozzarella sticks and a pepperoni pizza to keep it simple. It truly hit the spot! The mozzarella sticks were super flavorful, crisp and fresh out of the fryer. The pizza took me back to one of my trips to New York City. Thin, malleable, and the dough was oh-so-delicious. The best part of it? If you're going to offer bottomless mimosas, please teach your servers to not have attitudes when it is time to refill the mimosas! Our waitress, Cami, was so inconsistent. We ordered bottomless mimosas but we always had to wait for over 5 minutes for her to refill our glasses, she was usually too busy taking Snapchat pictures with her friends and talking to others to refill our orders. Every time she brought refills she never said "you're welcome" to our various "thank you" and had an overall bad attitude when she had to refill our drinks. YUM! One of my absolute favorite pizza spots in Baton Rouge. They offer a $5 "slice" of pizza that is really 1/4 of a 16" pizza... that's a lot of math. But basically it's HUGE and super delicious for the low price. That's what I'll often get if I'm alone. With hubby, we usually end up splitting a BYO 16" pizza and taking half home for later. That's exactly what happened tonight! I'm an all cheese kind of girl and my husband enjoys all the meats; they never give us trouble with splitting the pizza toppings (half and half). The pizza is a nice crispy thin crust- (not to bready-just the right amount) my fav! It's a GREAT option for those around campus at lunchtime and after LSU games. I ordered a slice or something of the veggie. I can't recall, but it was basically a quarter of a pizza. Once it was ready, i headed out and grabbed a piece of sidewalk to eat it on. My friend joined me and ate the rest. The pizza was pretty good, my preferred style, more NY thin crust style. If i'm in the area, I'll go back and grab something. The first time I ate at City Slice, I left disappointed at the thinness of the pizza and was only somewhat satisfied with the flavor. This was 2 days after their opening and then a few weeks later having the same experience. However, I returned after a few years later and they same to have upped their game. The pizza had more substance to it and tasted quite good. While it was far from exceptional, it was enough to enjoy. Yes, it could be better, but they passed the minimum line where pizza is worth getting. The location is super convenient if visiting or living at LSU. It's worth at least trying once or twice. Baton Rouge doesn't have the best pizza places, but this may be one of the better ones that are near LSU campus. Props to them for improving. read more
