Being a once-a-month subscriber, I get to enjoy this blissful escape from reality every four weeks or so. I received The Benchmark service and I would describe it as the last word in a luxury haircut experience. First Stephany asked me how I like my hair done, then she suggested some options for styling it that I had not considered before. I quite liked her suggestions and took them. She was gentle but firm while she cut my difficult, curly hair and trimmed my beard, and I could tell she was taking her time to do the best possible job. After the trim part, she took me to a quiet back salon room where she dipped my hands in paraffin wax, then began the scalp massage and hot towel treatment. I had never experienced a paraffin-wax dip and the wax felt strange at first, but as a chef and frequent hand-washer I don't think my hands have been hydrated like that in years. The treatment that followed included a face massage, a hot towel wrapped around my face, a pleasant eucalyptus aromatherapy, a shampooing and a scalp massage, then she removed the wax from my hands and gave me a hand massage. I am happy to say that Stephany brought the same careful attention to detail to each of the services, and was both responsive and informative when it came to the styling that followed. She even helped me understand what I have so far been doing wrong in caring for my beard and made some wonderful suggestions to improve my beard's health! In summary, I do not believe I have experienced relaxation quite like I did at The Boardroom, and would recommend Stephany to anyone who might be interested in elevating a haircut experience. She was knowledgeable, professional, great at small talk, and I will be visiting again soon to request her services!

No matter what I did or said I was considered a crazy client. I've never had this experience with anybody else. My hair turned out absolutely horrible and nothing like what I asked for. I would not recommend the Salon to anyone.

That's because this salon is serious about their commitment to the most natural professional hair care products out there. I've been to another "organic" salon in Phoenix, and I was disappointed to find that the products they used were not very different at all from conventional salon products. When I came to Abloom, I instantly knew that I'd found MY PEOPLE. They do special treatments using coconut oil & essential oils, and you can buy all-natural sugar scrubs, deodorant and perfume. They even use natural soap in the bathroom, and make many efforts to be "green". Alex has taught me ways to style my hair with very little product, and no heat! I met John and Drew at a fashion event and when they told me their salon, "Dilemma", was operating for over 35 years at the same Central venue address, I knew that this meant they had loyal customers. John's first question was, "When did you last have your hair treated by a professional?" When he saw that I was unable to answer, he said, "That long?" We both laughed, and then he asked me some questions about what processes I had done. I felt immediate trust. He was personable and knowledgeable. I thought "brassy" was the term people would use for my hair, but John explained how it was more complicated, as he explained why my hair needed the restoration of certain undertones that I had stripped. We showed up and they said their online appointment system doesn't work correctly so they wouldn't honor our appointment. As a business that has an appointment scheduling system, this is unacceptable. If it doesn't work, then it should be removed from the website or you should tell people to call in. People plan things around scheduled appointments. The guy was also rude and offered no solution.
