It took months to get the permits and they often forgot how many tiles we wanted on the house. And then things became iffy about the tax break, saying that they would keep it. So in the end I chose not to go with them, pulling out due to bad service. read more

We had our solar system installed by City Renewables nearly 4 years ago and were very happy with the process. Ben guided us through each step and continued providing excellent customer service. Recently, we updated our roof, and the solar removal/reinstallation was swift and smooth. Unlike friends' experiences with other companies, Ben's advice truly had our best interests at heart, giving us the best value. In our first 3 complete years, our SRECs payments have covered half of our loan amount, plus significant energy savings on our electric bill. If you want a company that offers great products, the best financing, and long-term support, choose City Renewables, we couldn't be happier that we put our trust in them. read more

Worked with Ben and the City Renewables team on our panel install and it was great! They did an amazing job. Everything went smoothly and we got a huge system for a great price. Ben was awesome on getting Solar on the roof of my house. I originally tried going to the kiosk at Costco, and the other business only offered an option to pay for electricity by use. Ben went all out on providing panels and SCREC options. Ben did all the bureaucracy tasks and found a lender that would finance me to make the solar happen. The solar is installed and I recommend getting it on the roof, and if you don't have a neighborhood association that gets in the way, get it installed. The price is high, but loan program were reasonable. If I get a 2nd property in North Carolina, I would hope City Renewables can do the job. read more

Ben and the City Renewables team were professional, quick and thoughtful in their approach to my solar project. The process to "go solar" includes many options (e.g. buy, lease, or finance the system; types of solar panels; and SREC platforms and sales methods). It is important to have a solar company that will work through the various options and stages of the process. Ben and City Renewables were there start to finish, responsive to requests and always available to share knowledge and expertise. Ben will point out that installing solar in DC is not a one-day or one-week relationship between the customer and the installer, instead it is a few months from inception to operation. This is accurate and relevant. In addition, after the system is installed, the installer is the primary contact for the 20-25 year warranty period. Given the long-term relationship, you want someone like Ben and City Renewables that will be engaged, involved, responsive and helpful throughout. I highly recommend Ben and City Renewables. read more

I highly recommend Ben for all your renewable energy needs, starting with a big solar panel installation on your roof. Ben held my hand every step of the way, answered all my questions and walked me through the federal and District incentive programs, then tailored a package with Revolution Solar to suit my household needs and finances. After we signed a deal, he oversaw the permitting, installation and the final set up, including the monitoring app and the renewable energy credit account. Thanks to Ben and Revolution Solar I now have my own power plant on top of my house. In addition to the satisfaction of having taken 9 MWh of energy per year off the fossil-fuel grid, I'm making money on sunny days.
