Luis did a fine job of replacing my toilet after a challenging diagnosis that found my discovery of improper flapper wear was actually corrosion in the bottom of the tank made worse by hard water. They saved me from later tank leakage if I'd just replaced the flow valve myself and been cheap. The phone scheduler was polite and got me an appointment the same afternoon, which none of the other recommended firms in Yelp could do, depot reaching out the previous evening. I would definitely recommend them because they're available, honest and do good work. They have coupons on their website and I got 10% off my job, which was nice. My new Toto toilet flushes and fills faster than any I've ever seen. If I had gotten the toilet myself at the hardware store, I'd have got something clunkier or more expensive; the modest markup they charge for securing the hardware for you is worth it. The fact they remove the old toilet and all the boxes for the new model is worth it in itself. I've requested a quote to replace my tankless water heater. In my request, I've clearly stated that I will be providing for the new unit AND there's no plumbing required; simply remove old unit and install new one. The estimate they came up with is between $4,800 - $6,000!!! Really?! That's more or less an installation of Central AC Unit (5 Ton). Then the representative that replied to me had the audacity to state that my message was not clear?! Hmm?!! First experience and last!! Quote aside, this demonstrates their lack of attention to details of the job details. If they can't be attentive to job details, I have doubts about the quality of their job! No thank you! read more

They are extremely reliable and showed up at the very early end of our window. Our plumber, Brandon was so polite and provided me with pictures and an emailed estimate of 3 options as well as a line item bid for the work for our job. We could accept or decline each option from the email. I had a massive 50-years-overdue drain issue in my 75-year-old house and City Plumbing came out within a few hours a gave a quote that was less expensive and faster than three other plumbers we contacted. The work was done, as promised, finishing a total replacement of all drainage pipes under our house in less than one full day of work. They worked well with the abatement crew that was taking care of the leakage and water damage, and they were very personable and professional throughout the process. Initially though it was going to be two hours, they worked for most of the day until the job was done (no additional charge) then carted away everything and left the site clean. Friendly group of people that I talked to but quoted me $495 for a hydrojet job ($500 is the average price I've found) and has a $100 off coupon online which makes it reasonable. When the "tech" (Since when are PLUMBERS called "techs?") arrived he quoted $1,200! I've had my main line jetted a few times over the years, best price I've found was $200 and the highest ever quoted UNTIL TODAY was $800. Since they were more than double the average price I declined without prejudice. GENERAL RANT: It's ridiculous what plumbers charge for a hydrojet job these days. Most show up with $500 of equipment and do about 30 minutes of work and want $500. I wish I made $1,000 an hour. I'm in the wrong business! read more

We got 3 quotes (one of them from City Plumbing and Rooter because a neighbor recommended them) and although they weren't the least expensive, when comparing all 3 quotes with what was offered for the price, it was hands-down City Plumbing. They respond to calls quickly; their scheduling is excellent; their personnel (both in the office and out in the field) are exemplary; and they aren't happy until everything is done to their customer's satisfaction. First I messaged and called about pricing, they confirmed was $40 to run a snake through a line per their special offer. A tech came out and was already being rude to my mother-in-law and wife. You could tell he didn't want to be there, he brought the snake to the kitchen then looked under and said couldn't do it there. Didn't make sense to so asked why and he said would up charge to $275, I said if that was the case I would of used someone else, they advertised $40. He said that was only if it had a clean out next to the sink or clogged line. Too bad that wasn't advertised or mentioned when I asked .... regardless, we went to the lower floor (garage) and I asked him to run the snake through that line, because I really thought the clog was from that line and not the vertical line. I suggested to him to cover the ceilings, garage door, and walls with trash bags or tape and he said it wasn't needed. My concern was it would wet the entire garage with nasty water. But of course was very unprofessional and didn't want to do it. Luckily (kind of) he removed a cap and ran the snake and there was no water, because the clog was above, in the vertical line. But when he removed it and cleaned his snake he not only made a huge mess on the floor but hit the garage door, and it smelled and just made a bad mess. See the photos. My mother-in-law and wife were not happy and asked him to clean it but instead just spread it all around and made it worse. They gave him cleaning chemicals and he just was very helpful and just wanted to leave. Then told me it would be more and said would have to cut into my walls and charge anywhere from $2,000-$3,000. This was when I asked him to leave. We paid him the $40 but it kept bugging us about the mess he made and wouldn't clean up after himself. I messaged the owner on Yelp who started everything and asked for his email to send the photos but now refuses to help. I hate leaving bad reviews but I tried to help make things better but I don't want another Yelp'er to get ripped off or have bad service done to their homes. read more

You know how sometimes you luck out using Yelp and sometimes you don't? Well this time we did! A backed up bathroom sink is a fairly small job and our previous plumber turned us down to do the service (make that former plumber!) So we called City Plumbing & Rooter. They answered our call on the first try. The officer personnel were pleasant and helpful. We explained our problem and they scheduled us for the very next day. Kevin called ahead of time to give us estimated arrival and was prompt. He came in, reviewed the situation and had us up and running in 15 minutes. Even disinfected the area when he was through. He's a very nice guy...even our little bull dog fell in love with him. We will definitely use them again when the need arises. (Snickers wants Kevin to come back too!) read more

I have known Paul, the owner of City Plumbing and Rooter, since before he started this company. He is a great guy, and so is his work ethic. He has done several jobs for me. The guys who came to my house today, Brandon and Mark, are the greatest. The drain from my add-on bathroom sink was leaking where it was connected to the sewer drain. I was lucky that an earthquake retrofit company representative noticed the water under the sewer drain when he was inspecting my foundation and took a picture of the broken drain pipe. Brandon and Mark worked in the very tight-fitting crawl space to cut out the leaking part of sewer drain, replacing it with a new section of sewer drain containing a new sink drain connection. They also made certain my shower drain/sewer drain connection was in good condition. I should not have any problems in the future. Brandon also cleaned out the P-trap of my bathroom sink to make certain there was nothing in it that could cause my sink to back up. Like I said, they are the greatest. read more
