Do not waste your time or money! This Salon is not as nice as others in the area and the they have horrible customer service. I brought my daughter to get her nails done with me and the one she got assigned to act like she didn't want to do them. I got a hot stone pedicure and they told me if I want them to scrub my feet it's extra money and I was like well what is a pedicure then? To start, don't be fooled by the photos. I do not know what these photos are of, but it isn't this salon. This salon is a hole in the wall and not near that nice. I went here because the prices were pretty reasonable and I wanted somewhere convenient. I've been doing dipping powder for a long time and absolutely love the way it looks, and that I only have to go to the salon every 3 to 4 weeks. 1 week after getting my nails done here, they started to pop off. That should never happen. I thought they would correct the issue since I spent $50 to get them done one week ago at their salon. I was wrong. I came in during the day on a weekday when I knew it would be slow. Once they found out why I was there, they made me wait 45 minutes and sat two people who came in after me before they even bothered to talk to me again. I got frustrated and reiterated that I needed one nail fixed, and that was it. Thats when they told me I had to pay to have my nail fixed. After making me wait 45 minutes. She said they only warranty their work for two days. If your nail comes off after that then you have to pay. I had wasted enough time so I went ahead and had them fix it, but she was very quick and sloppy and didn't even make the fixed nail the same shape or size. I don't know what you're doing wrong that dipping powder only lasts a week, but it's wrong. And only warrantying your work for two days says to me that you know you're not doing it right and you don't care. read more

This place is tucked away on the side of Kroger and near 5 other restaurants. The place is a little smaller than what I'm used to, but I decided to give them a chance. I walked in without an appointment and waited for someone who could do NexGen (powder dip). Mike greeted me and was great from the very start. The selections were placed in a binder and you could flip through the samples of the colors they had available. He removed my previous color and started to apply the new minty shade I picked out. I was upfront and asked him to be careful since I still had small scabs (when the girl cut me at another location) from the last color I went and got. Theres usually a wait time when I go in and sometimes the people are bit rude. But, they do a good job. I go regularly for eye brow waxing, and they turn out perfectly every single time. I have been to all of the salons in the Las Colinas-Irving area and this is by far the best! I made myself a regular here and have told all of my friends about it. In my opinion, this little place is a hidden gem! Mike and Tran are just a couple of the great people that work here and each employee in my all experiences have been perfectionists! They really are passionate about providing a great experience and my gels always last three weeks- longer if I could stop my nails from growing. Mike does a fantastic pedi as well. He's fun to chat with as well. They are all friendly and everyone's English is great. I absolutely love City Nails. While I lived in Dallas I would come to City Nails every 3 weeks. I highly recommend Tran or Vivienne for your mani/pedi. I would always try to make an appointment with Tran but if she was not available I would go for Vivienne. Tran does such an amazing job: 1. She files your nails the way you want, she is very meticulous when she files your nails. She looks at each finger from various angles to make sure your nail is straight. In the past I have had horrible experiences with getting my nails filed, to the point where I would ask the girl the just let me file my nails really quickly. 2. Tran is always very honest about picking brands of nail polish or colors. If I ever picked a certain gel nail color she would warn me if the brand is not so great and peels quickly. She will also warn you if the color changes after having it on for a few days, which gel sometimes does. She will also help recommend great colors that go with my skin. 3. She is super friendly, if you chat with her she will chat with you. When I would go see her it was like visiting a friend, we would chat and catch up. I will definitely be back to visit Tran when I am in town! read more

I have lived in this area for over 15 years and have tried every salon imaginable. From mani, pedi, gel, acrylic, etc... and I continuously come back to City Nails. I try to venture out so I can try/review others, but my nails always suffer the consequences. If I could recommend anyone, it would be my incredible tech Vivian. I got NexGen for the first time (it's a powdered gel that gives your nails the effects of acrylic without the damage- actually helping your natural nails grow & strengthen) and she did such an incredible job. As a healthy vegan, my nails grow out SUPER quickly so gels/acrylics rarely last 1 week. After getting it done with her, they lasted 2+! The only reason I got them filled is because I wanted the color/shape changed. Something else I love about her is that she shapes the nails perfectly. I've had mine coffin, almond, ballerina, stiletto, the works.... and she did them all perfectly. She's also very timely and considerate... kind of the perfect balance between too quiet and too chatty. I just adore her. She works 6 days a week and has kids- superwoman Vivian does it all. Overall you honestly can't go wrong with any of the techs, and if people ever complain on here just know that it's probably that person's issue, not the salon's. I'm extremely picky and my nails are weak, so for me to adore a place so much speaks volumes. It goes beyond subjective opinion to just pure observance. During my second visit, several of them addressed me by name as I walked into the salon (even without an appointment that day). It meant a lot to me that they cared enough to remember me! Called and made an appointment, and was taken care of shortly after arrival. Small place, nothing fancy, your basic nail salon. And the chairs work, lol. Took a min to figure out the remote, but once that was in proper operation, I was set. The aromatherapy options were nice - vanilla, pineapple, chocolate, lavendar, and a few others. I got chocolate, and I love how it smells. The price was average, $30, for what I think was a "deluxe" (aromatherapy, sugar scrub, lotion massage, hot towels, hot stone massage). Mike worked on me, and I don't usually let men do my manis or pedis due to some bad experiences, but Mike is my new favorite person.
