I love this park. We had our baby reveal here and had a small photo shoot and it was so amazing. It was not crowded at all. And the scenery is amazing. The trees and they even have a waterfall which is usually only on the weekends. The park is kind of hidden is up the hill and the parking is on top so to go into the park you have to go down some steps. Which makes it hidden. They have a kids area to play which is right next to the bathroom so make sure you take care of your kids well. They have more than enough tables where you can have events or bbq. Today we came for a friends baby shower which was in the corner and there was two other event happening at the tables and there was more room for others to sit down. Everyone that comes here is very well mannered and respectful so there's never been any issues here. Great park for events, photo shoots, or even just bringing your kids to have fun. Will definitely plan my next event here next summer!

Wonderful park but I live walking distance and it is always packed on weekends. During the week it is great because it's a lot more quaint and peaceful. The city employees take pride in keeping the grounds clean and it shows.

    Plenty of shade at 3:55p.m.

This is a cool park. Though it gets crowded in the weekend. Though is be nice to hear some ducks quacking about sans the duck shite of course

Everything in my life was going wrong, and I DO mean everything. My mom passed away in 2017, my close friend and landlord Jerald (the first person I met when I came to California in 1977) had a quadruple bypass surgery 11 days ago (he's healing well, for 84 years), and my good friend Erik passed away 4 days ago, I have known him since I came to California too. Don't worry, I am seeing a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, things have been that bad. And in comes Evelyn. She went above and beyond to help me out, she paid the electric bill (I have to call her on Jan. 2 to make sure about gas funding), and to top it all off, she brought me a cart full of groceries, all name brand and all stuff we use. She is truly an angel on this Earth. She deserves a much-needed raise. She didn't have to do the things she did. And she was so pleasant and upbeat, it completely changed my frame of mind. Evelyn deserves some kind of award alongside th e aforementioned raise. Evelyn, thank you so, so, so much! Merry Christmas, have a wonderful New Year, and may God bless! Cristine Khoury

Not only did your city, the mayor, the council members do nothing to work with me, after a year of not returning calls, not taking any meetings in the Mayor's Office, they divided that my flowers are a problem. This is what I had done. I had taken a piece of land that was supposed to have a sidewalk put in. The city of Long Beach didn't put anything in. The businesses had been begging the city to put in a side walk because it had become an eyesore. People dumped used oil, paint and trash on this land regularly. The land was also infested with moles leaving holes and tunnels making it very dangerous to walk on the land because you regularly stepped to holes and twisting your ankle. The owners had even offered to pay for the sidewalk themselves. The city refused. So, I put in a park to clean up the toxic chemicals, as in eatable plants that are healthy for you and the City of Long Beach thinks this is a really bad idea.... Don't move here. Don't live here. The mayor and the city council aren't working in your interest. They only care about things that make them look good. God forbid, a homeless person be allowed to make your community better. And the park is installed at the corner of 14th Street and Harbor.

And came across the story of Private First Class Sadao Munemori, the only Medal of Honor recipient in the unit during World War II, and the fact he was a native of Glendale. The Go For Broke National Education Center in Little Tokyo mentioned a little while back that the city of Glendale was dedicating the square housing their Veterans Memorial as the Sadao Munemori Memorial Square. Bookmarked it and made plans to visit it when the opportunity presented itself. This past Saturday the opportunity presented itself, and I made my way to Glendale. Easy to get to, lots of street parking on a Saturday. The .Memorial Square is on the northern corner of Isabel & Broadway. The memorials are divided by conflict: War on Terror, Vietnam, Korea, World War II, & World War I. Sadao Munemori's name is on the bottom of the WWII memorial, set off by itself. It was quite appropriate that I visit a Veteran's memorial on the Memorial Day holiday. There is a Japanese saying, "okage sama de" (I am what I am because of you). My life & those of other Americans of Japanese ancestry would be different without the exemplary conduct of the 100/442 and all other AJA units, and I certainly would not have the Army career I had either. Recommend!

It was okay, I parked in the public parking lots and walked over. I stayed at the event for an hour, but found it would open skating rink hours, (but didn't find out those exact hours). The Glendale Mayor was there along with his family and other government workers. They talked for 30-minutes before lighting the Christmas tree. The anticipation to view the lit tree grew plenty people restless because there was a lot mindless chatter in Armenian around me. It was worth the wait for all of us, (and much better looking than the pics I uploaded). I ditched listening to the adorable childrens choir to explore... The holiday village displays and holiday plants were nicely laid around. The City offered complimentary hot cocoa. Also, Studio Movie Grill gave away passes for free movie screening of choice. The skating rink was like normal but outside. They closed a street for the car show fundraiser, outside screening of Dr Seuss and food trucks (funnel cakes and cheesesteaks). Glendale Firemen and Police protected the crowds. This was a much nicer event that I could have ever imagined. The weather was nippy but nice. Then, the clock stuck 7pm and a slight drizzle started. It was bearable. Happy Hanukkah! Happy Festivus! Merry Christmas! Happy Kwanza! Happy 2020!
