After a fun day at Knott's Berry Farm, my wife and I decided to get dinner before hitting the road…read more The criteria were good eats, a varied beer selection, a decent atmosphere, and hopefully some novelty. Rock and Brews exceeded each category and came in clutch with some bonuses! First, and most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious! I had tacos, which were discounted for Taco Tuesday and allowed for a mix-and-match of chicken, beef, or pork. My wife had the Mediterranean salad, which she thoroughly enjoyed. We also shared a pretzel that was mega yummy. Second, beer! Lots of great choices, and if you prefer a mixed spirit, well, you're in luck, because they have plenty of those too. Third, vibes! Vibes like Cal Tjader came back to life. The place is decked out like your coolest friend won the lottery and created the perfect spot for all of his Rock & Roll lovin' homies to hang and chill. It is hard to pull off this level of focus without being a complete visual disaster or downright tawdry. Luckily for them, the designer understood the assignment. Well done, designer. You deserve a raise. Now, obviously, I'm a fan. One visit. That's all it took. But even after all of that goodness, there is one thing I must share, because it made a good experience a great one, and that thing is not even a thing; it was Matthew! Brother, thank you for being so kind and attentive. You are very talented, and without question, the quality of our experience is directly linked to your professionalism. I get the impression that no matter where you go, or what you do, the Force is always strong with you. Let's give Matt a raise too! And make him manager when you open the San Diego location.

We headed to Rock & Brews to get lunch it about going to take five minutes depending on the Traffic. We arrive at the restaurant Rock & Brews looks so cool from the outside but the inside we couldn't wait to see how's inside looks. We step in we're amazing the size and full of best bands from the 60' thru the present time they have live band on the weekend. We got seated right and the waiter came hand us the menu then I got our drink order,we're looking at menu they have a very good section to choice from but my wife decided to the bbq chicken salad then I order the Demon chicken chicken with sweet potato fries cost little bit more then we order the giant soft authentic Bavarian pretzel on a guitar holder comes with mustard but beer cheese dip is $4 extra. The waiter brought us our giant soft authentic Bavarian pretzel we couldn't believe it was huge we took a piece of it we amazing how soft and crispy crust very good,we dip in the mustard very good but we try the beer cheese we're disappointed the beer cheese dip we felt didn't have a good cheese flavor and beer need be pair with the cheese any good quality cheese. Finally our food arrived at the table my wife bbq chicken salad look so good. I was very surprised to my Demon chicken sandwich it looks like an angry Demon due to using fresh Jalapeño pepper and what kind of spices they use on chicken breast for Demon chicken anyways I took a biteof of Demon chicken sandwich it was incredible good but spicy but coleslaw cools down the heat. The sweet potato fries was good I really enjoy it. My wife love the bbq chicken salad and the giant pretzel. I love the food but the service was amazing good we like to thank our server thank you.

I'm going to be honest, I stopped by on my way to the fmr mkt to use their facilities-very clean & well maintained, you'd have to be buzzed in to enter. I like that it has paper towels coz I prefer it over the hand driers. It might be better for the environment but not for my health (unless I know that they actually disinfect those regularly, otherwise it harbors bacteria). The lady at the front was nice. The quiet library is open & airy, perfect for studying or simply perusing books. It has a large children's section with newer computers. It's conducive to learning & broadening our minds. I was probably one of the few kids in junior high (did I just age myself?) & high school who regularly visited the library to borrow books. I was a regularly at the Ivar (Hollywood Branch) Public Library & know that when the Mac desk top first came out-Cerritos Library had a roomful of them (Cerritos tax dollars at work, courtesy of the Cerritos Auto Square & the Cerritos mall). In this area (City Hall), there's an Olympic sized pool by the Senior Center (I think there are a total of 3, one of which has water slides ($25 entrance fee, unless it has changed) Dang, I should move to La Mirada! Another place to consider -ing out!!

It is so loud at this branch at times and impossible to utilize as a place to effectively study, work or even read. Never once have I seen anyone be deterred from normal level conversations, turning sound off of computer games, answering phone calls, etc.

We started with the parker house rolls -- yum! And the asparagus with crème fraiche. The asparagus was much better than expected, super fresh and nice light appetizer to pair with the Parker house rolls. For the main I went with the sea bass with crab fried rice. This was okay. I don't know that Carthay circle does a great crab fried rice but it was decent. My husband got the pork chop and enjoyed it with his sidecar. To drink I got a double pear martini and a classic martini. Whew, these really pack a punch! Highly recommend the double pear especially, so yummy and refreshing. Overall, the ambiance here was excellent, gave very classic Hollywood vibes and the service was excellent. Would recommend!

I was browsing the DL website and noticed Carthay Circle; the food and reviews looked great, and the fact that it was located in DCA made it super convenient. That being said, I grabbed a reservation and made plans to have dinner here. Carthay Circle, which is also the name of a neighborhood in LA, draws its name and inspiration from the theater of the same name; the latter is one of the most famous movie houses of Hollywood's Golden Age. This inspiration is seen throughout the space, with the decor giving that old Hollywood feel - think a darker wood color scheme and vintage pictures on the wall. The restaurant is large - with the first floor housing the lounge and the second floor being the restaurant. The restaurant itself is separated into different rooms, but still feels very open. The menu is mostly elevated American fare. We decided to start with apps so I went with the roasted spring asparagus. In addition to the veg, this came with pistachio, basil, crème fraîche, and tomato. This was pretty good and kinda refreshing - I liked the combination of flavors and textures. We also decided to start with white cheddar Parker House rolls - these were nice and warm and came with butter. I mean - bread, cheese, butter...need I say more? For my main I got the sustainable fish of the day, which was sea bass. The fish sat atop spicy crab fried rice and came with a Thai basil-coconut nage. The dish was pretty good, but I would argue there were too many competing flavors - the fish, the rice, and the sauce didn't work together as well as I had hoped. I think the rice was out of place - it was too flavorful to be a complement to the meal; a less punchy carb would have fit better - and maybe some more veg. We also got a side of Brussels sprouts which contained white cheddar and bacon. These had a lot of flavor, but were too rich for me; they were also a little too soft, likely due to the cheese. I mean, I ate them, but couldn't have too many as they were kinda heavy. All the Cast Members we interacted with were great - our greeter who walked us to the table was super friendly and gave a lot of fun facts about the decor while we made our way upstairs. Our waiter Scott was awesome - the utmost professional and consistently made sure we were taken care of. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the food at Carthay, but there were some bright spots and perhaps their other menu items are stronger. Service was excellent, but it doesn't make up for the food and hence I can't give this more than a 3. I would give them another chance though, as I'm curious as to how their other menu items fare.
