Decaf latte & homemade caramel apple pie... best apple pie I've ever had!

This place is such a gem! Locally and black-owned small business in the city of Compton offering high quality coffee drinks and homemade baked goods! There is also a bbq joint on site (City BBQ). Parking is available on the street and in a private parking lot at the end of the alley behind the building off Mayo. Super friendly owners and staff and high quality food and drinks! This business is always hosting community events and getting involved at a local level, so be sure to follow their socials too!

While driving home, we noticed this coffee shop and I'm so happy we decided to stop by!…read more Coffee 8/10 We ordered an iced cafe de olla and a quad Ibarra mex mocha. Both were soo flavorful. I will say, the cafe de olla is very spice forward. I taste a lot of cloves and star anise. A bit different than others I've had but I really liked it. The mex mocha was smooth and rich. I did see that their slushies are highly rated and now that it's getting hot, we'll def be back to try them! Food 10/10 They don't have food items on their menu but there are baked goods! We ordered a cream croissant looking muffin and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were warmed up and were absolutely delicious. Vibes/Ambiance : 10/10 We came on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. There were people working there as they have free wifi and outlets. The decor and vibe is cute! They have art on the walls, pictures, plants, community flyers/events, and statements that make you feel safe and at home. The staff is so friendly and welcoming too! There is a little parking lot right next to the shop and we didn't find it hard to find a spot. There is a park next door so I can imagine on the weekends, parking might be a bit tricker. Loved that we found a local gem like Patria and will def be back!

Menu is simple with the classics (espresso, americanos, cappuccinos, and lattes) and some speciality coffees like the Ibarra Mex Mocha. Prices are pretty reasonable - especially for the quality. It was busy when I went in so wait time was about 10-15 mins after ordering. I also bought one of their syrups - not really sure how much I paid for it but maybe about $15? That was a little pricey but the taste was good too. A little heavy on the spices, but I prefer it.

Get 2nd Street vibes out of your head. If you want good coffee and solid pastries then this is a spot to visit. There's not a lot of seating inside but enough to accommodate a few small groups. They do have a nice little patio out back if you have dogs with you and it has parking as well. All in all a solid spot good drinks and pastries which is what you're coming here for. I got the matcha tonic, it's very refreshing just make sure to mix it well. My partner got a capuchino. I don't remember what pastries we got but I remember it was nice and savory.

I was beyond excited to make it my local go to but it has just been consistently terrible service. I wish that was an exaggeration but today I ordered, gave it 20 minutes, arrived at the shop.... Ticket never even printed or looked at. Last week, same. Week before, same. You get the picture here I believe 1 single time my order was ready. On top of that, I once ordered coffee on a Monday morning on the way to work which I never do and arrived to a closed shop. I tried calling for over an hour and got no answer. Two hours later I finally get a hold of the manager who apologizes about having no staff. No problem mistakes happens instead of a refund I just asked to swing by and grab another coffee. Manager then tells me "COME BY AT _____ DATE AND I WILL BE THERE AND PERSONALLY GET THAT FOR YOU." I showed up. The manager couldn't be bothered. And yet I kept trying

The foam with the custom latte art cost an extra $2 but I think it was worth it, at least for my first time. To be honest, Honey Greens seemed like a gimmicky place since I thought the foam art was all that it was known for, but no, their drink quality was actually good! I got the agave matcha latte for myself, and I enjoyed how rich it tasted and how vibrant it was in color. I also added a cold foam which made it too sweet for me. Next time, I plan on ordering an unsweetened matcha latte and add cold foam as the sweetener. I also tried a sip of the lavender matcha and that was the one thing I didn't like because the lavender overpowered the matcha. It was pretty busy for a Friday afternoon with all the tables filled and a short line formed after I walked in. The workers were all so kind, and it was overall a very inviting place with fun decorations and a myriad of art options for the cold foam.

I ordered the Coconut Iced Latte with Sweet Cream Cloud Foam through the app -- paid about $8.50. It was too much on the sweet side but honestly, the sweetness was on me since I added the cloud foam, but the drink itself was about a 6/10. My order was ready when I arrived, and the girl who greeted me was genuinely sweet and welcoming. On my way out, their pastry display caught my eye and I went back to grab a Matcha Pistachio Croissant ($7.50). A different person took my order and she seemed a little bothered when I came back to order, which was a bit off-putting. The croissant itself was disappointing -- it didn't taste fresh, and this was only about 30 minutes after opening. For $7.50, I expected a lot more, especially compared to other spots serving matcha pistachio croissants that are both tastier and more affordable. The shop was nice and clean and it has plenty of seating. That said, their matcha is still easily in my top 3 -- that part never disappoints. I'll keep coming back for that, but I'll be skipping the coffee and pastries going forward.

Then the price popped up and said $5.80, it ended up being over 7$ with tip which I think is kind of insane for a double shot with some milk. After some looking at other pictures on Yelp and Google it turns out they charge extra for normal dairy milk and oat milk is no extra charge. I feel like this should've been mentioned to me at the register, the standard for most cafes I've been to is to charge extra for plant based options. I love oat milk in my coffee but not enough to be charged extra so I normally just go for dairy milk. The cortado was ok. I think espresso shot could've been pulled a little better but I'm picky, price aside I would get it again. I just wish the milk pricing thing would be made more clear. I liked the vibe of the place it smelled pretty nice.

I always order the matcha with 1.5 scoops of matcha, vanilla syrup, and light ice, and it's consistently perfect every single time, rich, smooth, not watered down, and clearly made with quality matcha. You can actually taste it, which sadly isn't a given these days. My boyfriend's go-to is the vanilla cold brew with a splash of whole milk, and it never misses. Smooth, balanced, not overly sweet, just really well done. Beyond the drinks, the vibe is what really sets Roam & Brew apart. It's always busy for a reason. Friendly staff, welcoming energy, and a place that genuinely feels like it was built for the community. You never feel rushed or like just another order. Consistency, quality, and care are everything in a coffee shop, and Roam & Brew nailed all three. It's obvious how much thought goes into what they serve and how they show up for customers. Montebello is lucky to have had this spot, and it's a huge loss to see them go. If you're reading this and still have a chance to visit, do it. This place truly deserved the love it got
