    View from our room

I see all of the negative reviews here, but my experience was completely the opposite. I have stayed in many hotels throughout the years, and around the world, and some were good, and some were bad, but I have to say this was the first time I felt a little sad to leave. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They provided a very personalized service for my son and me. My 2012 Honda Odyssey was no match for the potholes on the roads, and my CV joint decided to fall apart in the hotel parking area. All the staff rallied to help me fix it. One staff member arranged for her brother-in-law, who is a mechanic, to come out and assess the situation. He quoted a very fair price to fix it. The same staff member gave me a ride to AutoZone to purchase the part, and the repair was made, and I was back in action. The room was very clean and cleaned daily. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and polite. The rooftop pool is beautiful, and the view from our room was incredible. The bathrooms are on the small side, with little counter space, but they're still clean and nice. They have a small but pleasant gym. My son, a gym rat, made do with the limited equipment and didn't complain. The restaurant is nice, and the included continental breakfast was above average. I am giving this review five stars based on the people and the overall experience. There are two top-notch restaurants directly adjacent to the hotel, and I highly recommend both.

Beautiful view. Staff was helpful and kind. Clean hotel. The pool area and where I was planning to spend a lot of time reading was closed and it was one of their selling points. The continental breakfast was lacking. The only location I could enjoy the beach was from the parking area. Bring your own towels.

Dirty sheets with someone else's hair. Stay away!

My girlfriend and I stayed here last weekend while attending a wedding in Valle. Holy hell, what a dump! When paying $250/night you'd expect the room not to smell like sewage, but the other reviews are spot on. When we complained, a woman came upstairs with some air freshener . We were like, ah hell no! So they moved us to another room. Unfortunately, that room gave us the gift of someone else's hair in the dirty sheets! Instead of offering to change the sheets, they wanted to move us to another room- brilliant! Upon checkout, the idiot front desk lady asked me, "how was your stay, was everything good?" I looked at her as if she just arrived from Pluto considering all I did was complain to her for two days! Ohhh yea, I remember, she exclaimed! Hard to believe Marriott lends its name to this abomination- stay away!

Their hotel system fucked up! We got checked in and then around 10pm when we are all sleeping, someone is trying to open our door and basically they have the same key card that we have. They are trying to check in because the other people gave the same room to other guest. I called the reception and to find out what had happened and they told me that their hotel system has some trouble. Im like, i dont feel safe in this hotel if they can easily give another key access other people to an currently occupied room. Aside from that incident, The parking is in the mud dirty parking lot away from the hotel. The reception area is so hot like their AC does not works. WiFI does not wanna connect on my devices and I've tried connecting several times and even the receptionist was not able to do something about it. Stay away on this hotel!

    Dirty floors, hair everywhere

The room was very dirty. The floors were not cleaned and there was hair and dust everywhere. The shower floor was moldy and rusty. The odor in the room was very strong, sewage like smell. Upon check out, the sales manager who was the person "in-charge" was of no help and didn't seem to listen to the issues saying "no one has ever mentioned an experience like that..." which is very hard to believe since the moldy shower doesn't happen overnight. Very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

    Confirmation of stay

I booked my reservation over the phone with the number that they have on their website. After driving 10 plus hours to get to our destination we find out or reservation has been cancelled! The receptionist do not know what they are doing and said it was cancelled because I didn't check in Friday when I told them I would check in Saturday around 2am. I was told I needed to reserve the whole day prior due to check in times etc. I secured my room with my card Info to make matter worse. They asked who I booked it with and I said I only called the numbers directly on their website ! They did nothing to try and help us and they had no rooms available!!!!! when I asked to speak with a manager they stated they did not have one available at this time. I was never notified I needed to communicate with the front desk what time I was gonna arrive if I had reservations . It was overall very very frustrating and not what you want to hear after a long day . After a long trip you really just want to get to your hotel room freshen up and relax luckily we were able to get an airbnb for almost half the price near

Our room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, with plenty of room to spread out after long days of eating our way through Ensenada and wine tasting in the valley. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the pool is amazing. Service throughout the property was warm and welcoming. Everyone we encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely seemed to want guests to enjoy their stay. One thing I appreciate about Coral & Marina is that it offers a different vibe than the large resort-style properties further south. It feels quieter, more relaxed, and more authentically Ensenada. It's the kind of place where you can spend the morning at the spa, the afternoon exploring fish taco stands and wineries, and the evening watching the sunset over the marina with a glass of Baja wine. We had an amazing stay!

That killed the appetite pretty quick. We also ordered wine but we did not ask for the price and they ended up pouring a very expensive bottle. It was good but make sure you ask because the bill was pretty high We also booked this place because paddle boarding was offered. When we went to rent the boards they said they were not renting them out. Major bummer, if I would have known I would have brought my own board Over all nice hotel but I'm not sure if I would go back

Fortunately, they still had a room for us but at ninety one dollars I'm sure we overpaid! No A/C, but close to the ocean. No ice machine and had to ask for extra towels. Still, the lady at the front desk was kind and even though she didn't speak English, we used my broken Spanish and figured it out. Room was pretty bare, ants in the bathroom and the kind of hotel where it just smelled musty and no upgrades have been done in years. A short walk to the ocean and steps below to the rocky beach. No sand, just rocks. Overall, they are trying hard but pretty worn down for close to one hundred dollars!

You'll usually find Juan at the front desk but if he's not there he's not hard to find. There are 15 rooms.. some singles... a few doubles... some with 3 beds and two with kitchens. All have satellite tv and ceiling fans. The shower is typically good for Mexico compared to lots of places I've stayed but sometimes you have to let it run for a minute or two to get hot water. Our last visit was a little disappointing as our rooms weren't cleaned at all while we were there (8 days) and we had to say something to get our towels swapped out. Three of the rooms also ran out of toilet paper and we went and bought our own. The amenities are slim... but the people are great (And "Machaca" the dog) and the view is FANTASTIC from the rear patio area! Rooms range from $40 to $75 per day and are worth the prices not for the perks but for the safety and peace of not being downtown! My "Go to" place when in town for the night or several..

Before I get to the review of the hotel , I will tell you about an incident that occurred before we arrived to the hotel. On our way to the hotel we decided to stop at a grocery store before checking in so that we wouldn't have to go back out once it got later in the night . Unfortunately our car got broken into while we were in the store and we had to file a report with the police so we called the front desk to let them know we would he checking in late due to what had just happened , the lady at the front desk was really nice and understanding. She told us to take our time and take care of the issue we were having . My family and I were pretty shook up by what happened to us and we were contemplating just driving back home . But once we arrived at Quintas Papagayo and checked into our room we felt a little better . The premises felt safe and quiet , there is a gated and monitored entrance . The room was clean and the ocean view was so relaxing . It looked like they had updated the rooms and the pool area since we had last been there. The overnight security noticed our car window was shattered and he stopped by to check on us to make sure we were okay . We told him what had happened at the grocery store and he let us know that he was very concerned when he saw the broken window . It really goes to show that the security team is monitoring the premises and noting anything out of the ordinary. The front desk , maintenance and housekeeping staff were also very friendly and helpful . We asked someone at the front desk if we could have some leftover cardboard so that we could cover our broken window for the drive back to the states and they were able to find some for us . Everyone was always happy to help us out . My kids really enjoyed the pool and just hanging out on the patio in the evening. Although our getaway started off on a bad note , we were able to make the best of it ! I'm glad my kids got to experience this place just like I did when I was a kid .

Fortunately, you'll have that incredible view to look at, because you won't be able to be online much with the atrocious, sketchy Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, that's where the positive aspects end. I suspect due to the number of large interior villas, the property is packed with kids. While it's clearly a great spot to entertain children, getting anywhere near the hot tub for a relaxing soak simply isn't happening. I even tried waking up early to get in a quiet morning soak, only to learn the pool area doesn't open until 9:00 AM. and there's just something that seems so wrong about a 65-year-old man joining children in a hot tub. Once finally seeing children free, I discovered it was water that I wouldn't choose to get into and the actual jets were not working. In the room, you're provided with an antiquated coffee maker but no actual coffee, leaving your only on-site option an 85-peso price tag for a basic black cup. To top it off, you actually have to leave your physical ID just to borrow a pool towel, which feels a bit extreme compared to standard check-out sign-ins. After all, you do leave a 500 peso deposit upon check in. I will say I was impressed with the delivery of a large drink of water upon check up check-in and I certainly didn't mind pouring it into glasses however no jug is provided and I could imagine some folks having difficulty maneuvering it. All in all, the staff is amazing and the location is perfection. It just seems that any of the inadequacies stem entirely from the way the hotel is being managed.
