We lost power to our gas furnace at midnight during last weeks frigid weather. We called a half dozen heating & cooling companies requesting a call at 7 in the morning. Mark, the owner of City Cooling & Heating called promptly at 7:00 AM, he was professional and polite, listened to our explanation of the problem and scheduled a time to come to our home that was convenient for us. Since it was only 15 degrees outside we where concerned that our water pipes might freeze and wanted someone to respond as soon as possible. Mark was at our home within 45 minutes of his call just as he promised. He did a full diagnostic of our furnace and determined we had a faulty voltage regulator. Mark had a replacement voltage regulator with him, but he took the time to explain why the voltage regulator failed and recommended that we replace it with a higher rated regulator to avoid having the part fail again. Mark had to go to his supplier to get the higher rated voltage regulator and let us know exactly how long he would be gone so that we could run some errands we needed to get done. Mark returned on time, in fact we where late returning and he was waiting for us. He installed the voltage regulator, restarted the furnace and stayed to ensure the furnace reached 70 degrees properly. His bill was extremely fair, we would have gladly paid more for his promptness and expertise. We scheduled a preventive maintenance call for May on our AC, we will call City Cooling & Heating for all our AC and Heating needs and have recommended them to our family and friends. Of the 6 companies we called only 1 other company returned our call and when we said we had lost all power to our gas furnace they said we would need a completely new furnace. It is refreshing to know that there are still honest companies left like City Cooling & Heating. read more
