Please close this place down and replace it with something different. They are close to terrible. The food was not ready on time even though it was a to go order. Based on other reviews that seems to be common here. No one was working the to go center. Then when we asked about our food they told us they didn't have FOUR items that we ordered and paid for. (That is something they should have communicated when we ordered). Get new ownership or management or something, but I recommend that you don't order here. read more

We've now been there twice. The first time we ate in and had a great experience. The food quality, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, value, etc, couldn't say enough good about it. We even went through the drive through and got a couple things - banana pudding included which when fresh is incredible - to take home. The second time, we went through the drive through and got orders for the whole family to take home almost $80 worth. When we got it home, the baked beans were 80% sauce, had maybe 2 bites of beans and the order of brisket on one of the meals was nearly all fat - picked it over good and got a few bites out of it. Based on the first visit, and the fact that they are new and still likely working the kinks out, I'm not being hard on them yet - I'd have given 5 stars for sure. Make sure you have no expectations or you will be disappointed. I wanted to like this place but its a hard no for me. Everything from the service to the food was horrible. I placed an online order and staff walked pass me at the pickup counter several time for a few minutes before someone turned around to help me. Eye contact was made as staff threw pickup/curbside orders on the shelf and i continued to be ignored. The inside was not clean as the drink and sauce area needed attention. Staff member walked over there and started to straighten up and said i dont have time for this and walked off. The food is unseasoned and has a weird overcooked/over processed texture to it. I get it...its a BBQ fast food place. We spent $50 on a sampler, sides ( mac & cheese, greens, and baked beans) and a large peach cobbler that har 1 slice of peach. Yep nothing but soggy crust! Ribs reminded us of the precooked heat & serve found at grocery stores. Other meats just tasted odd so everything went in the trash. The toast was good though! We really enjoyed our meal. We got the family pack because it was the best deal. This was too much food for two people, so we had plenty of leftovers to eat the next day. The pulled pork is not like the chopped barbecue you will get at local NC restaurants, but it's very tasty. We tried a couple of the sauces and liked them, although the sweet sauce was too sweet for us. The cornbread was sweet as well. I prefer cornbread that is not sweet, but it was moist and flavorful. We got sides of baked beans (good) and mac and cheese (excellent). We ate inside the restaurant. The tables are small. It's not a good place to take big groups. They have a lot of outdoor seating, which should be good when the weather warms up. We look forward to visiting again and trying some different menu items. read more

This is the closet BBQ restaurant I have eaten at in the triad that reminds me of home. We ordered the kids BBQ meals and let me tell you it was huge we had to take meat of our sandwiches. baked beans were yummo as well. Peach cobbler not my fav but its worth the try. I ordered online the bbq chicken breast & wing and a side Mac & Cheez. It was ready in a timely manner. It was a to go order the chicken was in a sm plastic container as was the Mac & cheese and a side container of bbq sauce. They must have small chickens. I found the chicken breast to be small, there was a sm amount of bbq sauce slathered on the chicken & wings I used the xtra sauce. The chicken was moist and tender with a Smokey flavor. I didn't like the skin on chicken it was kinda rubbery. The Mac & Cheez was "bussin". The stars are for the Mac & Cheez. The chicken breast was just too small. OMG this was sooo good ! I heard so many good comments about this place so today my boyfriend and I tried it ! They lets us sample some of the food first before ordering ! Not everybody can make good mac n cheese but they NAILED IT ! The food tastes homemade!! The guy at the counter told me everything is made in house ! Besides one other couple, we were the only customers and the place was disgustingly dirty, while the employees shouted to each other from the cooking area. Tables, floors and tray return areas were dirty and lots of employees standing around. Employee emptied garbage while checking his phone and left a mound of garbage that fell out of the bag on the floor next to the garbage can. Everything was filthy. As for the food, the rack of ribs was very tough and needed to be slow cooked longer. Card reader was not properly working at check out. Overpriced and underwhelming experience. Let me start with the food was delicious. But, 30 minutes after I ordered everyone at the table had eaten but me, as I still had not gotten food yet. After waiting a half an hour, I went upfront to ask the lady if she could tell me where my food was, and was completely ignored. Got back in line and asked the guy at the register, and he told me they were held for fries. I told him I could not continue waiting, could I please change my side, which he did. The food was excellent. But this is at least the third time I've gone in and ordered fries as the side and the wait has been horrendous. Settled on the pulled chicken sandwich which was meaty, and tasted good, but extremely greasy. It seems like they dipped the bun in butter. The wrapping was completely saturated with grease. I tried City Barbeque for the first time and unfortunately, I will not be returning. First, I thought the prices were too high...ordering a sandwich, 2 sides and desert (no drink) for $19.17. Second and most importantly they messed up my order. I did not get one of the sides and the fried okra did not have a lid on it and it spilled out in the bag. I don't know if I got a full order of okra because the cup it was in was 1/2 full. Third, the food was ordinary for the price. The smoked turkey sandwich did have a lot of meat; however it was not that flavorful. The banana pudding had no banana taste and tasted more like vanilla pudding. For $5, I would expect some banana flavor. And finally, the drive up service was mediocre. I waited at the drive thru for almost 5 minutes before the employee took my order. There was only one car ahead of me and no one behind, so they were not rushed. Besides not getting my order correct, she did not engage with me. She just took my card and gave me the bag with no comments. I should have checked my order before driving away (my mistake), but the rest of the bad experience is on them. I have received better customer service at other (unnamed) fast food restaurants where you would don't have expectations of good service. I gave 1 star because you can't give a zero. We have been there 3 or 4 times, the first time it seemed very good. The pulled chicken sandwich was delicious and the veggies were also very good. The last two times we ate there we went through the drive thru and both times the order was wrong, or missing items we paid for. First time they corrected the order, and threw in a free dessert. This second time we had to drive back and ask for the missing items, they were still on the counter. No apology or sorry we forgot to complete your order! Very poor service!
