If you haven't been here yet then you definitely need to try this place. I love love love their food. I think this spot just opened and we have ordered lunch from them almost every week! Honestly my absolute favorite is the brisket but everything that I have tried has been so delicious. I loved the collard greens and the green beans are also one of my favorites as well as the corn pudding...seriously they're all good. I meant to get pictures of everything but I ate it instead..my bad..it's just so yummy. The service is great even if there's a mistake they will fix it for you right away. I haven't had a meal inside the restaurant yet but it looks very inviting so maybe I'll go out for lunch one of these days instead of getting it delivered to me. Last but not least I do have to mention the peach cobbler...normally I am not a peach cobbler fan...but wow. Their peach cobbler is so good! It's very sweet but the whipped cream cuts the sweetness so I would suggest getting it with whipped cream. We came here on a Sunday for lunch and ordered to go food. The line was steady but the place was full to capacity. They were out of a couple things and when they gave us out to go order I'm glad I checked it because we were missing pretty much an entire meal. They were unapologetic and clearly slammed but a simple sorry would be nice. I will say the food was good - flavor, tenderness, sauce... so I'd give them another shot when not too busy or order online. read more

Food was great, better than Sonnys. Brisket and turkey were really good as well as all the sides ive tried (green beans, potato salad, corn pudding) mac and cheese was just ok. Newly opened City BBQ in Buford was crazy busy. Thank goodness for Ben and Venice. People in the drive thru were undecided about their orders and kept changing them or asking for items not on the menu. Through it all, Ben and Venice maintained a cheerful attitude and coached the customers through their orders. Employees like this are a rarity. I wish there was a tip jar. I wasn't expecting much since it's a chain, but this was great! I'm picky about my collard greens and these were tasty. Potato salad was delicious. The ribs were well seasoned and tender while the sausage was spicy and and went well with my own sweet heat sauce. But for us the stars were both of the sides. We received healthy portions of both the Cole Slaw and the Corn Pudding . The Peach Cobbler was plentiful but was a little sweet however I will try it again. read more

We have had numerous bad experiences with our orders being right. Last week Ni was actually wonderful. I have to give her huge Kudos. I get mistakes happen. She owned up to it. Gave a solution do to numerous past mistakes (not by her). When my husband suggested it last night (12/1/24) I was very much against it... I hate being right. TERRIBLE customer service. The food was packed incorrectly, again. Somehow that was DoorDash's fault? No accountability! Refused to give her name but did give the soundly advice of "if we keep messing up just stop coming back". Can always count on trash employees like this to run a company into the ground. Sloppy and rude is a terrible mix but somehow that's who you elect to take calls. Laughable. I was a customer not your BD. read more

We went there ordered 3 meat plate with 2sides a brisket sandwich and another brisket with toast. All the meats were so dry even when dipped in the bbq sauce it was still dry. No moisture to the meat what so ever. Would not recommend eating here. The first time I went, I got chicken and a brisket sandwich. The chicken was good, but the brisket was a little tough Thought I'd try them one more time, we bought three slabs of St. Louis style ribs. They were phenomenal. I asked for sauce on the side, which is what they gave me because I wasn't sure I'd like the sauce. Let me start by saying the cashier (young male) was very informative about the menu. He answered all of our questions easily. Restaurant was clean and the cold a/c was great. The food, however, was mostly disappointing. We had turkey breast, pulled pork, brisket and the turkey was nice but the pork and brisket were dry and flavorless. We also had mac and cheese and there was zero flavor and we found a hair in one of them. Fries in the kids' meals were hot and crispy. Someone needs to keep a better watch on the sauces. The ketchup on our table had gone bad. Tasted awful! And the original sauce that is left for all to use by the soda machines was thick and tasted terrible, like it was old and had been sitting out for a while. The other sauces were ok. I'm a really judgemental BBQ fan. I grew up where we had no fast food and BBQ was and still is King. We had NO really good BBQ places anywhere in the North Gwinnett area....actually North GA. I got so tired of someone claiming a place had great BBQ only to be disappointed again and again. I had a friend from Florida tell me this place was coming to Buford, so of course I had to try it, then I tried it again, and again. Everything I've had, including the sides, are extremely good. First time coming here, not sure how common my experience is so I thought I'd share. Walking in there was no menu screen or anything, I asked if they had a menu and the cashier handed us one. Menu has no prices btw but price was not really an issue to me. We walked in 2 hours before closing my party ordered a sampler plate and 2 half ribs with mac n cheese. They told us they had no ribs so we changed it to nashville chicken sandwich and wings with mac n cheese. Turns out their wings are dry no option to toss in any sauce. I personally don't like dry wings so my last scramble effort to order something was just a mac n cheese with a drink. Took our order, payed, great. Our order comes out and my fiance comes back saying they didn't have mac n cheese. Thought he was joking but no. Literally didn't even feel like attempting to order anything else but reluctantly I ordered the nashville chicken sandwich as well. Have eaten here a couple of times and it's been fine. Normally do a 2 or 3 meat platter. Tried a couple of rib bones once and wasn't that impressed with those but the turkey and sausage are good. Not a big fan of the overall concept of ordering up front and then having your name called to go get it. That is something that Sonny's has an edge over, full service. I generally like to get a salad or soy to start off with but with the system in place here makes it a bit of a hassle because the food comes pretty quickly so trying to finish an appetizer while your meal is sitting there getting cold kind of sucks. There's no way to stagger the food unless you order your app, sit diwn and eat it and then go back and order the meal. It would be nice if in their system they could put a designated time delay for the cook to not immediately start the meal. I will continue to go there and just deal with the inconveniences. I've gone fairly early but I see that seating. Oils also be an issue if it's real busy. Their garlic toast is good also, thick, soft with a bit of crunch. read more
