Everything about Citron was so pleasantly perfect from start to finish that I've been looking forward to writing the review. All I can review is a Vinylux manicure that I received here this weekend. They were able to get me right in for a 10am manicure. When I arrived they ushered me right in, offered me a beverage (I shamelessly opted for the mimosa) and they soaked off my current gel manicure. The manicure itself was really nice--nice shape, very professional, and it was very relaxing, especially in comparison to the chop shops I usually go to. If you want a quickie mani/pedi, go to your usual spots in Providence, but if you want to relax, either alone or with a girlfriend, Citron is your place! read more

I had my first massage ever here today, and I am in love. Everybody working here speaks in soothing, calm voices as soon as you enter, and you are immediately taken care of with complimentary beverages (I was offered mimosa!), a comfortable waiting room, and a beautiful bathroom with wonderful amenities. The best part: my masseuse was absolutely wonderful. She was endlessly attentive and incredibly skilled at her job. I was in such a complete state of bliss for the entire 60 minutes that I'm shocked I didn't fall asleep. I went to this spa for a massage a month ago. I was very excited because I hadn't gotten a massage in a while and this place had great reviews. I decided to book a 30 min massage to try it out and book an hour if I liked it. When I went into the room to get a massage - It took me a couple minutes to get undressed and then a few minutes for the massage therapist to speak with me and talk about what I wanted. I didn't realize she counted this time as "work" and took it from the massage time I paid for. She only massaged my back for 20 minutes when I paid for 30. I tried to brush it off like it wasn't a big deal, but overall I was disappointed. read more

I received a gift certificate for the Citron Splash package and decided to use it on February 4th for my birthday. The package included 60 min facial, 30 min body polish, 30 min massage, 60 min mani & 60 min pedi and a lite lunch. I arrived at 12 pm for my 12:15pm scheduled appointment but didn't start until 12:30. Erin Flanagan completed my massage, facial, and body polish within 90mins; I was out before 2pm. I definitely got ripped off of a 30 min massage. She basically did the body polish & the massage together, which sucked. A whole lot of rubbing and no deep tissue massage. Very disappointing. I also didn't receive my lite lunch. The receptionist said it wasn't included in the package. I showed her on their website that it clearly states it is included and that I received confirmation when I booked my appointment. She spoke to her manager and apologized for forgetting to order my lunch, but that there was nothing she can do about it. She then charged me $10 for what? I'm not sure she said it was the balance due after using my gift card. Which doesn't make sense because the gift card was for the entire package. I then asked to speak to a manager. I was asked to wait. I waited 40 mins. The manager never came out to speak to me. I asked the receptionist how much longer will the manger be? She then told me she already spoke to the manager and they decided they would refund me the $10 which would've been the cost of the lunch. She said she didn't know how to do the refund and will have to wait for the manager to do it. I couldn't wait any longer, because it was my birthday and I had other plans. I left my name and number for the manager. I did not get a call. I called the next day. The manager was in a meeting and I was told she will call me back. I didn't receive a call. I called again 2 days later. Manager, again was in a meeting and I was told she would call me back. No call. A week later I called again. And again, nothing. It is now 2 weeks later, I have not received a call back or a refund. I am owed a 30 min massage, a lite lunch and a $10 refund. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! HORRIBLE MANAGER! I discovered Citron after trying almost all the nail salons in Providence. Citron has a wonderful nail bar in the back with three stations for pedicures and three for manicures. They use Aveda products and all the staff members are friendly and professional. Nancy is the best! They have a cute relaxation room in front with soft music, infused water and snacks. I'm always offered a drink and a warm neck roll upon arrival. After a busy day at work or a stressful day, I look forward to being pampered with a manicure or pedicure here. This is my first ever yelp review, but after visiting citron today I couldn't not write one. I had never been to any spa in providence before but my eyebrows demanded attention! I called citron at 11:30 and got a waxing appointment for 12:30 the same day! The place was immediately serene and well decorated, and I was offered a free beverage (including wine and mimosas!), free and delicious homemade scones, and a warm neck wrap while I waited. The wait was so short I almost wanted it t be longer so I could enjoy the waiting room more! Christine did my brows and she was quick but very gentle, even offered to put on some concealer to cover up the pink. Oh and they offered a 20% student discount which brought it down to only $14!! Love this spa it is so relaxing. I went here for a facial and it was amazing. I did however go back for a mani pedi. Although I absolutely loved the pedicure the manicure not so much. I got gel manicure and it peeled roght off after one week and began chipping the very next day. I also had three broken nails the second week. Wont be coming back for the nail bar. I got a facial several weeks ago. First time at Citron. I was completely underwhelmed. Yes they have all the ambience of nice waiting room, refreshment, warm neck wrap but it all feels forced. Plus, all good spas have that. The person who did my facial was nice but I did not leave there feeling refreshed or any different. Probably just more tired. I have gotten many facials before and this definitely fell short. It felt like she was just going through the motions and the massage portion was so disappointing......it really felt like she didn't have a good understanding of how to give a massage. I know its a facial but the massage part is advertised as part of it.Also, their website said hand massage was included which I didn't get. It was definitely not worth $95. read more

Loved this place! Went for a pedicure on a Saturday morning, immediately met with a mimosa and my nail tech. The chairs were super comfortable and the ambiance was relaxing. It was my nail techs first day, and I could tell she was a little nervous but she was a perfectionist and I think that's why it took a little longer than usual (about and hour and fifteen minutes). Lovely experience today. It was my first time here. I had a gift certificate from my husband and since I rarely make the time for myself he actually went ahead a booked it. When I showed up expecting a massage and was told he booked a full body exfoliation they were very accommodating and pleasantly switched things around to make it work out. Clean facility. Friendly. Massage was very nice and relaxing. Softer than I'm used to but she seemed to be experienced in her technique. Loved the oils and lotions. My favorite parts of a massage tend to be hands feet face and head and I think we ran out of time because my hands and face weren't touched and head was just a couple seconds at the very end but overall very nice experience. Next time I'll let her know ahead of time that I love hand and face massage. I'll be back to try their mani-pedi. I like that they offer a warm neck wrap during their regular manicure. read more

I absolutely loved it here! I recently just went with my sister for a spa day and we truly got the royal treatment. We were greeted by a warm atmosphere in an adorable waiting room with cucumber water, mimosas, and pastries. We each had a full body massage, facials, body bliss, and pedicures and loved every service. We were even served lunch as part of our package while we had our pedicures done. Great location and easy to find! Loved that it was open on Sundays! I had the Head to to Toe treatment yesterday and it was fantastic! Faith was attentive, knowledgeable, and truly a talented individual. I would most certainly book with her again! Pros: The relaxation room is cute and comfortable and the complementary mimosa was a wonderful touch! Very attentive staff and no pressure to purchase or book again. The products used were amazing and really worked well with my skin and the 20% discount for first timers was unheard of from where i come from! Cons: Booking online caused some issues...i booked a 1230pm appointment and received an email the following day that their was some scheduling conflicts, but they could take me in at 1130am instead. That was fine since i didn't have anything planned for the remaining part of the day, however i could see how this could cause a problem for others. It may be best to just call the spa directly. I was a bit annoyed however that after arriving 15 minutes early as required (11:15am) only to sit and wait in the "relaxation" room with an obnoxious teenage boy and his family who was in and out visiting him for 45 mins...(Although Faith did apologized profusely, albeit it was not her fault at all. She seemed to understand my annoyance with the scenario)...I was not brought back in to begin my treatment until noon because the appointment before me ran later and they needed to clean up. The head to toe said 2 hours, however promptly at 130 it ended, leaving me quite a bit disappointed that it had ended early, although I still felt incredibly relaxed and blissful! All and all a good place to visit! And i'd suggest others visit too! I'm optimistic that the "cons" i experienced were hopefully a one time thing and i'm looking forward to trying out some of the other treatments they have to offer! read more

Got a manicure with a friend at Citron Spa on a Saturday afternoon by Dawn. Called in the morning for afternoon appt. Advised to call ahead, not sure if they do walk-ins. Reception was warm and inviting. Greeted with refreshments (water, tea, wine) and little fruit cups in beautiful waiting area. I had two glasses of wine (no charge). Mani bar was cool, sat on stools next to friend (close enough for intimate conversation which is not the case at other nail salons). A heated wrap was placed on my shoulders as I sat down. The pedi couch looked very comfortable. Modern, clean decor. Sanitization: we asked about pedi baths which are closed pipe system and are sanitized with barbisole between clients with weekly sanitizing treatments. All implements are barbisoled between clients. I had gel polish on, which was extra charge to remove ($10). If I had known, I would have removed myself. She soaked nails in acetone and filed off polish rather than scrape and buff (which I prefer, due to thinning out nail too much with filing). Cuticle cutting was adequate and I was asked about shape and length preference. Polish was well done and neat for the most part, some clear coat got on some of my cuticles. Asked for a design on one nail which was well done at no charge. Overall, great ambiance, intimate atmosphere, perfect for bringing a friend, warm staff. Good price for manicure. I thought the extra charge to take off gel polish was too much. Great location for day out with friends. read more

I was looking for a relaxing morning and did I find it! Upon check in, I was taken to the relaxation room where tea and snacks were available as well as lemon water. I was given a warm, scented neck wrap while I waited. I got the head to toe heaven and it was!! I literally melted into the table. The staff was incredibly attentive. The worst pedi I've ever received. Over priced and under skilled. I would strongly urge a person that appreciates the details to go to another salon. I gave up and paid THE MOST money for a pedicure that was banged up before I left, I am very careful when it comes to my toes. The seats for a manicure are high and you feel as though you are going to fall off, rather unfortunate salon, the massages are very nice, that's a nice thing. Other than that, I strongly urge you to go elsewhere if you want mani/pedi services.. Sorry. No response is needed. read more

I absolutely love this place. Had a Brazilian and with the student discount it came out to $48, which is the same or maybe a few dollars cheaper than the average Brazilian wax. The wax itself was impeccable. I had no extra hairs left over. I was given a heated pillow to keep over my stomach to ease any discomfort. The place is beautiful and the owner is incredibly sweet and not the least bit stuck up which I find typical of most nice spa owners. They have a wonderful waiting area where they keep little snacks and beverages. The cost of mani pedis is a little over my budget, but the pedi area looked so relaxing and nice that I'm still making an appointment for this weekend. Hope they come out with a combo deal of sorts where you get a discount if you get the mani and pedi together. Anyways, the point is this place is fabulous. It's great for students and anyone else living in the area. Will definitely be back for the waxing and maybe a little extra when my budget allows me to indulge a bit. read more

I think I've found my new spot for my paws and claws! While the prices are slightly higher then your usual in and out spots it's well worth the splurge. We arrived a bit early but I suspect thats normal, time to relax and all. Once we were greeted by the pleasent receptionist we were brought right into the relaxation room, which is bright with a huge window looking out onto Wayland square. After getting comfortable, we were offered complementary drinks and warm neck rolls. My cousin and I both chose mimosa's, why not its a brunch drink "wink". After a little bit of time of giggling our manicurists Monica and McKayla came out and introduced themselves to us. I loved that very professional. We were brought into a small but very adorable room for our manicures, we were asked to choose our colors, we were showed the polishes including the Vinylux ( 5.00 extra *deal*) which we both opted to get on our hands. It's supposed to be like gel nail polish but less harsh on your nails and cures in regular light. Anyway, I was slightly let down there wasn't more color choices in the Vinylux but that's ok. Then we moved onto the regular polishes, there is a nice choice of O.P.I., not too many and not too little either because sometime, I get a little light headed just looking at a sea of colors and I always end up with a handful of colors that all look a like and im left with of choice of a 10 pinks, long story short i like simple and less thinking because ladies let's face it choosing a nail color is pretty epic, it can make or break a mani because if you hate the color you hate the mani! We were not rushed at all during our epic color selection. Which was nice. Once finally seated with our chosen colors, our pampering began, we both opted for the citron manicures and pedicures which were very nice, i believe it's their signature treatment for the nail bar. Your hands are shaped however you like and McKayla kept asking if I liked it which was very refreshing and I know Monica asked my cousin as well, almost like our thoughts counted unlike some places with the rush jobs. They use a Aveda products which all smell wonderful. They used a tension easing oil on our hands which tingled and smelled great. Once the oil is applied thet use a hot towel and let you sit for a bit. Once it comes off your hands feel really nice. The shaping and paint job was amazing very well done.also have to say..All the way through the treatment we kept getting our mimosa's topped off which was really awesome, who doesn't want a good drink while getting pampered. Also the girls were very easy to talk too. I didnt feel akwared at all during my treatment. During our pedicure, the girls took amazing care with our tooties. They also used a tension lotion on your feet too which I liked more then my hands it felt warm at first then got tingly and then felt cool. I loved it!!! The girls were very attentive and did an amazing job. I will admit that the spa is a bit small but I think maybe that's not so bad as long as they don't over book ever. Other then that I would recommend this spa to anyone. Lets see how long this mani stands up to my texting and typing!! That will be by deciding factor on the Vinylux. Several stressful weeks at work and school left my upper back severely sore and achy. I was in dire need of some serious body work. Lucky for me, part of my birthday gift included a massage session at Citron Spa. My wonderful husband purchased a $50 deal worth $75 for a deep tissue massage with Jody. Unfortunately my upper back will need more work to untie all the knots. Definitely go for the 1 hour session if time permits. The lovely scent of aromatherapy and the soft flicker of candlelight really helped me relaxed though. The space is quite tranquil especially the waiting room, it has a nice selection of beverages from hot teas to coffee and petite pastries (all home made). The staff was friendly and personable too. I would be interested in their other services too as I am a fan of Aveda products. Prices are in line with mid range to high end spas in the area but their membership deals as well as student discounts makes Citron spa a fairly affordable choice. It gives one of my favorites, Alayne White's some real competition. read more

I have only had pedicures here, but I keep coming back! So relaxing, I can't find a bad thing to say except my polish chipped a littler sooner than expected. But this wasn't their fault, I choose a non-toxic/non-OPI nail color so I knew it may not be as durable. I will be trying as many of their services as I can! read more
