I have been coming to Rehka for almost 2 years now and I wouldn't trade her for anyone else. She is so good at what she does and always goes above and beyond. I don't normally write reviews, but I felt compelled to because of my experience here. I hate being negative, and I do believe Rekha knows what she's doing. The eyebrow tint and threading I received were ok (not the best), but I was very disappointed by the customer service here. I arrived on time for my appointment, and there was a client midway through a service. I had to wait 15 minutes, which isn't a huge deal, but there wasn't any acknowledgement of my appointment time or even a "welcome in". When I was told to sit down, Rekha proceeded to take a lot of photos of my face, and though there is a sign on the wall stating that these pictures are for educational purposes, I felt much more like a marketing tool than a valued client. I immediately noticed her using the same, unwashed brush on my face that she had used on her previous client. She talked herself up a lot and made some insensitive comments about how next time I could be "brave" and have my upper lip done. She also interrupted my service about halfway through to take care of a quick walk-in, which, again, wouldn't be a huge deal if she had been more polite about it. The end of the service felt rushed to me, which was probably because there was a long line of people waiting. Rekha had apparently booked two clients for the same appointment slot and also told a few others who had called that she had time for walk-ins. I know that mistakes happen, but she really didn't seem to care much, and it was very chaotic. I had also scheduled an eyelash tinting with her, which she forgot about and said she didn't have time for. At that point, though, I was happy to get out of there. I am amazed at how bad this place is. 1) I went downtown (and parked illegally probably) to get my eyebrows done. It was well within their posted hours of operation, but there was no one there! I swallowed the cost of parking and decided to come back because the place gets such good reviews. 2) I came back the next day and AGAIN it was closed. I finally got a hold of the owner's phone number (Rekha) and got in touch with her. She told me to come back the following day because she was in Boston. 3) I came back. No wait this time, which is great. Rekha then proceeded to bully my into taking photos of my face. I told her it made me uncomfortable but she insisted it was for a better shape of eyebrows. I was clearly making expressions, laughing uncomfortably, etc. She chose a photo in which I had one eyebrow raised to tell me "look what a disaster your eyebrows are - not your fault, I can fix it." Let me tell you, I like my eyebrows, they are thick and well shaped and all I wanted was them to be cleaned up a bit. 4) She does my eyebrows. She takes off a huge chunk of one, leaving it flat and looking like a worm died above my eye. I panic. 5) She tells me not to worry, she "has a plan, I just have to keep coming back." She then pencils in my eyebrows to show me how, if her plan succeeds, my eyebrows will look. I look like Frieda Kahlo. 6) I pay and run, deciding never, ever to come back. It just wasn't meant to be. I'm not sure how I should rate this business. Based on eyebrows alone, their work deserves 5 stars. I started seeing Rekha and her daughter back when they were at Impulse Salon and they make your eyebrows look beautiful. I just don't understand the way they think. Side story: I recall one instance where I made an appointment at 11 am, the first appointment of the day, and she didn't arrive at the salon until almost a half hour AFTER my appointment time. At the new location at The Arcade, I tried a few times to walk in and get my brows done but there was always a client in the chair and since I only have a certain amount of break time during the workday, I was unable to wait. After a few failed attempts, I tried to make an appointment. I requested an appointment at 11:00, which according to their website, is the time the salon opens. She said she had clients in the morning so I set my appointment at 12:30. When I got there, someone was already in the chair so I figured the last appointment went late. I waited a full 20 minutes before politely telling her I'm sorry but I have to leave to go back to work, please cancel my appointment. She apologized a lot and also explained that she had "just gotten there" and started working on this first person that came in. What salon owner comes into work and doesn't look at her appointment book? she even went over to her desk and seemed surprised to see that yes, I did have an appointment written down in the book. She invited me to come back, "whenever". I don't understand why she didn't try to book and confirm me a new appointment. Maybe because appointments don't mean anything to her? I tried one last time today and went in around noon. There was a man at the desk who said he was just taking appointments until Rekha gets there, "probably around 1:00?" Remember, their website says they open at 11. After what happened with the last time I made an appointment, I was not interested in making another one, especially since he wasn't 100% positive what time she'd be back. I wish them the best of luck, and again their eyebrow work is wonderful but I am done trying to chase them down. read more

Great place to go when you want to reclaim your brows and have them be a focal point (not a thing to hide or overly mess with)! I went in today after giving my eyebrows a month to regrow. Originally, I intended to wait until three months of regrowth, but after reading about how he staff is focused on training and regrowing brows to the desired shape I decided it was time. Went in and was seen about twenty minutes after my appointment time, which for my schedule isn't a big deal: though for others it can be. Plan accordingly if it is, and be patient. She did a great job shaping my brows and telling me how they should look for my face and eye shapes. Even gave me some oil to use daily to promote regrowth and tame my brows! Rekha is an angel sent from heaven. She is so kind and really takes the time to shape your brows rather than just thread stray hairs. I refuse to see anyone else for my brows. My only complaint is that I'm never seen at my appointment time. I always wait at least a half hour before I'm seen. For example today, my appointment was at 2:45 ( i arrived early around 2:30) and it's currently 3:20 and I still haven't been seen. Sometimes I don't mind waiting if I don't have any plans afterwards but other times I really need to be seen at my appointment time. This is also frustrating since all parking in the area is metered. I put 48 minutes worth of quarters in the meeter and that time is already up, so I'm praying I don't have a ticket on my car when I get out. Update: wasn't seen until 3:45 but thankfully didn't have a parking ticket. read more

I went to rehka after reading her website and these reviews I had never gotten my eyebrows done before and I am 22. I was so nervous but needed help. Rehka totally reshape them to perfection. To be honest, I still don't really know how to rate this place. Work wise: i think it's really great, like 4.5, I am happy with the results that I get and Rekha seems to really know what she's doing. The idea behind her doing your brows is not getting it right the first time but keep fixing it for the next and improving your brow shape. Maybe that is a problem with me because a busy art school student really just can't find the time to get my brow threaded every two weeks! Especially if you are to make an appointment and NEVER ONCE has she been on time with you. The first time, I ended up waiting for 30+ minutes, which really annoyed me. I walked in and there were like 3 people before me waiting, and in the middle of it she will get phone call and she will say something like "oh you can come now" or "stop by anytime in between 2-6pm" this is just creating unpredictability and crashes of people coming at the same time. Like how hard is it for her just to keep it up with her appointments? I can tell she likes keeping good connection with her customers, but like if you have them all come at the same time then it's just creating unwanted waiting experiences where I can just be in studio working on my projects rather than sitting there waiting for 45 minutes after my appointment because people keep coming in saying "oh you said come in anytime" as if there was no one in line. Therefore, I need to tell myself to go on a day I really have nothing to do after, which is very very challenging for me, that's why it's hard for me to keep going back so consistently. This also lead into increasing the price. 2 weeks after it's $12, 1 month is $15 and more than that is back to $20, the price as if you have gone to see her for the first time. That's just way too expensive for eyebrows threading in my opinion. Yea, good work but annoying experience. :/ read more

Long over due review. I went here about a month ago to have my brows done for a wedding. In the past I have had them waxed and just cleaned up-not really shaped. Rehka has an eye for symmetry -an artist's eye really and I think that was what I was missing in the past. The appointment was easy to make. Like some other people made note of, she was running late and took another appt before mine so I waited about 15 minutes extra. It's worth it. I made the appt knowing that she has a tendency to run late so I bought a book and relaxed. It was the first time I had my eyebrows threaded or tinted. They have never looked so good. I know I won't go in for the bi-weekly package but I don't mind paying the 20.00 which I still think is a bargain. I love her little shop and the location and she is an interesting person to speak to as well. Thumbs up all around and I'll be back! I'm soooo impressed with how my eyebrows turned out I don't think I'm going back to my regular threader (she's a snow bird who flies to India during the winter) especially since they have TWO locations (the other location is in FR near my work place and parent's home) I like the hours and the fact I can just walk-in for a quick and PAINLESS session. I'm quite sensitive around the eye area but she did such an amazing job - and very thorough too. It's just the location at the Arcade means the parking can be challenging. The pricing is on par with the area, a little more than some places but you get great service and naturally beautiful brows. read more

The name says it all... Let's start with the Arch part. Rekha is a brow master. My eyebrows looks groomed and natural. Yes I am a man which is why her skills are even more important to me. I am looking for clean and groomed with TWO eyebrows, not weird and overly thin or "surprised looking" and not the Oscar the Grouch look I would have if my brows were left to their own devices. I have been here once. Approaching my second appointment soon. So far not bad,...a little more than I wanted to pay. But I heard she is an expert, so I don't mind paying for expertise. Be sure to call ahead for an appointment! With only a day left in town, I desperately needed some brow maintenance before heading back home. I called in an hour or so before, and the kind receptionist was able to schedule me in within the hour in between two people because I was told a session wouldn't take long. I arrived and was more than pleased with my brows! She combed and looked completely into her job, which resulted in the best threading experience I've ever had. Its $15 for first time customers and $12 for frequents. If I lived in town, I would definitely make archangels my regular threading salon! read more

I've gotten my brows done here 5 times and while my brows have turned out decent, there have been times where I felt rather uncomfortable... -She would start off with brushing some powder on my brows with a brush that I saw her not clean and use on the two people before me. -She would just start taking pictures of my face and my eyebrows before and after threading without asking...i mean, what if I don't want close up pictures of my face and eyebrows on someone else's phone? -There have also been a few times where after she threads my brows, she would put gel on my eye brows without asking and pretty much glue them down, and then tells me that she is trying it out for someone else....if you're trying it for someone else, why wouldn't you just try it on that person?And with my sensitive skin, I started developing a rash on my forehead a few minutes after I left. -And another time, she filled in my eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil while she was threading, something that I did not ask for at all, and then proceeded to take some more pictures of my face without asking while my eyes were still closed. Every time I've come in, I've always just nervously felt like her experiment rather than a respected client. I will not be coming back here again. read more

Rehka is a magician!! She has some seriously gifted hands. I have thick, dark eyebrows that I have been treading for years (waxing makes me break out and I don't like the shape as much). I started going to Rehka a few years ago and will never leave her. While my eyebrows look pretty good after threading with anyone, Rehka makes them look amazing! She is detail oriented and will make sure every hair is taken care of. I think this speaks to the potentially long wait that other reviews have mentioned- she is attentive and looks over her work versus just shuffling people in and out. Even if you have an appointment, you may not get into the chair until a bit after. That can be annoying but she will also see you without an appointment. The wait, especially if you have an appointment, can be annoying but the wait is worth it! The prices reflect how often you go to her as that impacts how much work she has to do (the more often you go, the less she has to do). She really works with clients to get them the best possible eyebrows. I have lived out of state and always see her immediately when I return. I get so many compliments on my eyebrows after seeing her. read more

I just moved to the Providence area and needed a new place to get my eyebrows maintained. I only had my eyebrows threaded once almost a decade ago in a mall and decided to give Archangels a try because of the great reviews. The place is located near Kennedy Plaza and is toward the other end of the Arcade (mall/market). I arrived a few minutes before my appointment but waited an additional 15 mins, which, I find to be normal at salons. There were magazines to read while you wait and free water. The woman who did my eyebrows did an amazing job. I am use to two styles: the generic arch or the bushwacker "wth did u do to my brows" look. When I first looked up it was different than what I was use to. I liked them at first, however, upon further inspection I fell in love with them. They are customized for my face, and it matches my animated facial expressions. Also, the atmosphere was pretty nice. I am going back and I highly recommend this place. read more

very disappointed. i used to think she was great but she's shown herself to be very unreliable and she has a huge turn over rate of women working for her --- i get the impression that she takes advantage of the girls that work for her. she makes it seem like just can't trust them--- but i think there's something weird going on. she complains openly about how much she works and the girls who work for her and it's just a terrible atmosphere. and not very professional . since letting my eyebrows grow-- they look so much better. she brags nonstop about how great she is but i realise now that she was shaping my brows into thin nike shaped brows that didn't suit my face at. all read more

It was was my first time getting them threaded and this place lived up to its expectations. I will definitely never go back to tweeting or waxing.
