I love this place ! I have been coming here since I was in 8th grade. I tried waxing and could only wax one eye due to the pain. When I came here I was in the chair for 5 minutes and they came out perfect. I still come here to this day. I have tried other places but no one compares to Sukhys no one has ever threaded my eyebrows the way the ladies do here. Summary: they do not do a thorough job and are not friendly. I left with hairs still in my unibrow! I used to come to Sukhy's all the time when I lived in Providence a few years ago. I always thought they gave good service at a fair price ($10 for eyebrows.) When I moved to Pawtucket 3 years ago, I started going to another place nearby which is $12 for eyebrows but they do an amazing job. I have forehead hair and a pretty bangin' unibrow so there's a lot to cover. I had no problem paying the extra $2 for this service, plus a tip. Today, 12/10/21 I was in Providence running errands and I thought I would stop by and get my brows done. Big mistake! The brow lady spent a total of 60 seconds on me, did not get the hairs around my brows, didn't trim them or anything. On top of that, they make you pay ahead of time which is fine but makes me feel like they're trying to take the money and run. I ALWAYS tip 20-30% so I gave her $3 for her time and thanked her even though I felt that I didn't get what I paid for. Sure enough I got in my car and saw TONS of hairs left over. This eat a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be going back. read more

I love they way this place does my eyes brows, but it seems like their hours change when ever they feel like it, so many times I have come and and closed before business hours. Then this week I go on Monday, I forgot that they were closed Monday, but dang knowing they would be closed Thursday and Friday why wouldn't they extend hours or try to open Monday for their customers? read more

If I could give less then 1 star I would. She was rushing and very rough as she was threading my eyebrows. She was so bad that she pulled out one of my eyelash extensions by the ROOT!! If you have lash extensions you know how painful that is. When I told her she said "oh sorry it's cause it's long" which it's not because I do hybrids (natural) look. This review is for the brick marketplace location. Was seen right away and asked for brows and upper lip. Very satisfied with upper lip, not as satisfied with the brows. Yes, they do look cleaner than when I went in, but still had to go home and tweeze some strays- that's disappointing. Not as much attention to detail as the place I went to in San Diego for 3 years. The thread itself also feels different. I am a little concerned that the attendant didn't wash/Purell her hands before touching my face during flu season. Additionally, the scissors and comb were not in any sort of disinfecting solution, as I'm used to with all other establishments. When it comes maintaining my eyebrows I fail horribly. I would love to have the skill, talent and patients to shape my own eyebrows but after so many unsuccessful attempts one must leave it to the professionals. I first tried threading when I was in Jakarta, Indonesia this last year. It was...lets say different (not bad different, just different). It seemed to last much longer than getting my eyebrows waxed and I didn't have to worry about getting burned by hot wax on my overly sensitive pale skin. I was so happy to find so many places offering threading here in Providence. Being from the west coast I wasn't sure what to expect when I moved here. After much laziness and procrastination I took a friends recommendation I headed over to Sukhy's Threading in Pawtucket. I was able to easily walk-in with no appointment and get taking care of straight away. The whole process was fairly quick and with minimal pain. I came out with my eyebrows looking 10 times better and perfectly shaped. The whole deal only set me back $10, good price in my book for their time and effort. Seeing as this location is in between my work and home I will be back on a regular basis with out question. read more

I had been coming to Sukhy's to get my eyebrows done for years, however my most recent experience will cause me to not return. I went on my lunch break to get my eyebrows done so I had limited time. I was in the chair for less than two minutes when the woman who did them said I was done. I briefly glanced in the mirror (which is my fault for not taking a better look before I left due to my time constraints) and thought everything looked good and left. Once I got in my car and really looked in the mirror I realized they had done a horrible job! At this point I couldn't go back in to ask them to be fixed, so I sent them emails with pictures showing how my eyebrows didn't even look like they had been touched and asking if I could come back in to have my eyebrows fixed the next day/week or get a refund. I never heard back and this was now a month ago. I didn't plan to return anyway, but the lack of response just sealed the deal. read more

Absolutely terrific! Myself and my entire family have been coming to Sukhy's for years. This is the absolute best place in Rhode Island to get your eyebrows perfectly shaped, quickly and painlessly. Even when I was living in Boston I would always take a trip down to RI every week or two just to get my eyebrows done by Sukhy herself. To this day it's the only place I've ever been for threading. You can't put a price on good eyebrows, but $10 is absolutely worth it for the beautiful shape you'll walk away with. In addition, the staff is friendly and attentive and the locations themselves are always clean. I've been here before every now and then and had good experiences, however my recent experience will cause me to never go back. I've heard great things about Sukhy herself doing the threading, but she did a horrible job. I got my eyebrows and upper lip threaded, and it only took about 2 mins (which concerned me). After looking in the mirror, I had obvious stray hairs all under my brows and on my lip. I confronted her, and she fixed it and apologized, but when I got in my car, I still had to use tweezers. I have been going to Suhky's for a number of years. I will say that the quality of work has gone downhill. The turnaround of employees is extremely high and I can almost never find the woman whom worked on me previously. With that being said, there is no consistency in the results I get. On several occasions, I have left with literally half the eyebrow I came in with! They are more focused on what they want your eyebrows to look like than what you are going for. After growing my eyebrows out for 6 weeks to gain back hair, I began bringing in an exact photo of what I wanted to achieve. That seemed to work, until my visit on 12/27. The woman working on my eyebrows went over the same spot vigorously, numerous times with the thread that she cut through my skin. I now have a tic tac sized bleeding cut in between my eyebrows. I will now have to avoid makeup in order to avoid an infection and time for it to heal properly. I have been a loyal customer of 12 years and will no longer do business here. read more

i've been coming here since i was 16 and sukhy has been my go to girl for eyebrows for the last 10 years. i have seen her salon go from a run down room with a few chairs to a revamped, huge, multi room threading emporium. she went from doing all the threading herself to overseeing a dozen threaders and hardly being in at all. i am happy for her success, but now i have to wait for her, if she is in at all. and usually, she is training someone, so they will do the clean up while she does the shape. not a huge fan of that. on the flip side, when she does my eyebrows, i get compliments from complete strangers on the street about my eyebrows and how good they look. she seems to know how to work your eyebrows with your face shape and has never taken off too much or too little. the rest of the threaders there are kind of a crap shoot. i have a feeling that they are all sukhy's relatives or friends and some are better than others. if you do make the trip down, ask for sukhy. read more

I normally go to a different threading place but I was in the area and saw sukhys. I asked for my eyebrow and lip to be threaded and I wasn't too happy afterwards. The woman I had rushed through my eyebrows and lip , it really felt like a waste of money. It was done so fast and she didn't seem to care much about taking her time to make sure they came out as anyone would like, clean and hairless. The women were polite but the service wasn't great. Sukhy's used to be amazing but the service has gone completely downhill. I came in for an eyebrow threading with no other customers. I informed the threader that I wanted to keep my brows as thick as possible. The woman doing my eyebrows rushed through and ended up messing up a section. She then tried to cover it up with a pencil and when I saw what happened I wanted to go and speak to the manager. The threader was aggressively trying to keep me in my seat so that I wouldn't go get the manager. Sukhy offered to do it next time. There won't be a next time. I still had to pay and left. I will NEVER step foot in the Seekonk location again and I'll never have anyone BUT Sukhy herself do my eyebrows EVER again! The staff member who did mine today did not listen to what I said at all and took off WAY too much! I made it VERY CLEAR "I like them thick the way they are, just clean up underneath and around the shape that they already are! Her name tag said Fatima or Fatina or Fashima or something (idk it started with an F) but she hacked my eyebrows UP! And I swear it is not the first time! I put a $10 bill on the counter and all she kept saying was "oh I'm so sorry, phone #?" I want my free one when I get to my 10th (when I see Sukhy herself) so I put it in and stormed out IN TEARS! Like real tears, crying! I was so upset!!!!!! Absolutely LIVID! Seriously days before Christmas!!!!!!! She's lucky I didn't flip out in the store! And lucky I even paid!! I have been going here for 7 years!!! They were the first ladies to do my virgin eyebrows. I have been to other threading places because Sukhy's is farther from home but every time I go somewhere else they butcher my eyebrows. I have had my brows done 3 times by salons other than Sukhy's, and every time I come crying to them saying how some other lady took all the hair I had. I've been coming here for 12+ years-- this place is the best! All other threading places I've tried are subpar compared Sukhys. I tried a few other places in college, when going to Suky's was too far, and regretted it every time; my eyebrows never came out as good and the other places hurt sooo much more. I will say I am partial to Sukhy and always ask for her; she is quick, painless, and gives you stunning eyebrows. Service here is also wonderful! Went to Sukhy's for an eyebrow threading back in October (only getting around to writing about it now) as I was persuaded by a classmate's rants and raves about Sukhy herself. The salon completely lacks atmosphere with its half-finished look and horrible lighting. Lots of people were in the salon yet I was seen very quickly despite being a walk-in. Sukhy seated me down and without any introductions or hellos asked me, "thick, medium, or thin?". These are, of course, relative terms so just in case she threaded me too thin or left me unshaped and bushy I hesitated and said "medium, please." She worked fast and before I knew it handed me the mirror to examine her work. My heart sank as I looked in the mirror. She had completely obliterated my eyebrows - not only were they pencil-thin, (this was "medium"?!) they had no shape whatsoever. Actually, they did have a shape: rainbows! Don't recommend Sukhy's! I saw the reviews here and went to Sukhy's. I grew up in India but have not done threading in almost 10 years since I have moved to the US. But my friends recommended I do threading and get Indian facials and so found Sukhy and went only to make up my mind that I will NEVER GO BACK THERE. I have never been to a place where they do facial before eyebrows but I let that go. And then I get a rookie to deal with through all this! The facial was HORRIBLE and I could see the rookie girl twisting and turning every bottle she could find since she did not know what to do. My pore cleansing took about 20 seconds at the most and she probably removed 2 blackheads if that...and I know I have plenty! She did not even remove the mask and clean well, so when I got up from facial, there were things flaking off of me and when I asked if that was normal, the answer from Sukhy and the rookie was that I wash my face!! Ridiculous considering I just for a facial!! so, my advice never never get a facial here!!!!!! So, we move onto eyebrows, and the rookie does a crappy job at that too...so, I dont complain but keep looking at the mirror and Sukhy comes by. I asked her if she thinks more needs to be done and she asked the same question back ...so, finally she agreed that more work needs to be done but she did not do any better either. I left there and went to Diamond Creative on Central Ave and they did an awesome job! Diamond Creative is a much better place and they do a much better job than Sukhy....less pretentious and friendlier. read more
