Basically, they killed our lawn a couple years ago by using the wrong fertilizer on our St. Augustine. It happened to one of our neighbors as well, so it wasn't a one time thing. They should state that they don't take care of lawns with blended grasses (so having both Bermuda and St Augustine). And don't expect any "consulting" services - we apparently had grubs and it killed a large patch of grass in our front yard. The guys that come put the fertilizer on the lawn are just techs and don't know anything about lawns in general. I was CitiTurf client for many years and cancelled the service this week. We had st. Augustine grass in the front yard and it was looking good, but something changed in 2022 when grass started to show the signs of decline. In 2023 the lawn had several dead patches and by April of 2024 the front yard was completely dead. When manager came to evaluate the issue in 2023 , he said the issue is related to insufficient watering and winter freezes. We increased the watering , but nothing changed, grass continued to die. In April 2024, we installed new St. Augustine sod in the front yard and it looked perfect the whole summer, but I asked CitiTurf technicians not apply any chemicals to the front yard and only to the backyard where we have Bermuda. Unfortunately, I didn't prevent CitiTurf from applying the treatments during the dormant season and now when the growing season started the new lawn looks bad. Again, it has dead patches in many places and not green as it should be. Our neighbors on both sides have also St. Augustine and their grass looks much healthier and greener than ours. You can clearly see that issue goes by border of our yard and the only difference between their yards and mine is CitiTurf service. When I called to cancel the service , they told me they want manager to come and evaluate the issue. He came and was very polite , but refused to acknowledge any wrong doing by the company and blamed the shade and grass being still dormant. He could not explain why parts of my lawn which get full sun also look half dead. I don't even know why company sends the manager to evaluate the issue when they always blame the other factors but not the chemicals they are using. I read few other negatives reviews and people are reporting the same issue - CitiTurf service is killing St. Augustine grass. It is time to company to acknowledge that they have issue with the treatments and address it. I just wish I would have cancelled the service much sooner. read more

I have paid CitiTurf maybe $3000-$4000 over the last 8-10 years, and while I know I might not be a huuuuge customer, this place is awful about treating their customers right. I called in to see about getting my sprinkler line repaired. They just repaired one for me LAST year and help me just about every year. They no longer cut my grass because they dropped me as a customer one year because my lawn wasn't pulling in enough money for them. Thats fine I guess, business must be good. They still allowed me to schedule sprinkler fixes, until today... Today they said they are booked out until June and refused to schedule me. Stear clear of CitiTurf, they do not treat loyal customers right and might end up dropping you or refusing to serve you with very little warning. You need reliability and knowing that when you call your vendor that you've spent hard earned money on in the past, they will help you in your time of need, especially with sprinkler related problems. Only downside is that they are on the pricier side and because payment is fully automated, you can suddenly find yourself spending a ton very quickly. Today (11/1) the manager of CitiTurf in Allen Texas declined my request to remove unauthorized chemical spraying onto my residential property. This was the second occurrence of unauthorized chemical spraying by CitiTurf at my home since September. The manager's response to my request to remove the unauthorized chemical spraying was 'you can't prove it and I won't authorize the removal of the chemicals'. Apparently with such a statement CItiTurf accepts no responsibility for property they knowingly have damaged. I have asked the company to immediately cease and desist from insulting, disrespecting and damaging property and knowingly violating personal boundaries in Allen, Texas. read more

We really like the CitiTurf crew. They mow and edge, leaving our lawn looking nice. We've never come home to grass clippings scattered or sloppy work. They'll also do seasonal clean ups (brush trimming, leaf collection and so on) for an additional charge. Could we do our lawn ourselves? Yes, but Cititurf's minimal fee definitely is worth the time we gain in not doing the work. Generally pleased with CitiTurf lawn care. Nice even cutting with sharp blades. They add diagonal mowing to enhance the looks. However, I will not use their plant landscaping services any longer. After finding bark spread on our driveway one morning I discovered they had cut our irrigation pipe removing a dead plant. When I called they advised they are not responsible for damage to landscape irrigation. Mistakes can happen but not taking responsibility is not acceptable. read more

The crews who come out to the home are the only reason CitiTurf is getting a second star from me, because their "customer service" is nonexistent. They have been treating our lawn, as well as providing bi-annual landscaping and weekly mowing services, for the last five years - you would think they'd want to hang on to a cash cow home like ours. We never complained about anything, and only called them to request additional, big ticket extras (fire ant treatments, mulch in the landscape beds, etc.). What should have fallen under the category of no big deal (their tech mistakenly treated our lawn when he should have treated the house across the street - he was wildly apologetic for the inconvenience, and offered no inclination that I would be charged for the unnecessary service), turned into them billing us for the treatment. When I noticed the bill on my credit card and called the supervisor about it, the guy insisted we were almost due for the treatment anyway, defending their billing practice (we were still a couple of weeks out from our next scheduled treatment). Instead of calling it a mistake and eating the costs, they just tried to call it our scheduled visit and have us eat the costs. Not to mention, no one ever seemed concerned about the potential environmental hazards or yellowing of the grass that can sometimes be caused by improper/misuse/overuse of these chemical treatments that must, by law, only be administered by certified technicians...am I the only one who sees the seriousness of this? Anyway, I guess they saw our ability to routinely pay for services as an opportunity to recoup their money. So much for customer loyalty. Once I finally became irate, the self-proclaimed managing partner, Phillip, offered me a refund. Whatever. There's too much competition out there not to find a new company to service our lawn and landscaping needs. While their crews do a commendable job, the people running the show are clearly making the big bucks on the backs of their employees and customers. Not a company I want to support. read more

After 6 years using this service, they call me and tell me that they cannot service my lawn anymore because of labor issues. Note that they decided to tell me this the day that they were supposed to mow, on a Friday, leaving me without service until I could get a replacement service the next week. Do not use this company. 1 Star for pushing a lawn mower around for a couple years. This past year we decided to spend a few thousand dollars to have "professional landscaping" done by cititurf. I contracted cititurf to landscape and MAINTAIN what they did year round. When I came back for the summer my front yard looked like an 8 year old had played around with a weed whacker all summer. I reached out to management to find out exactly what I was paying for, I was told their "technicians" tried to remove the weeds but eventually gave up. This was followed up by if I would pay more they would spend more time on the weeds. They then told me if I take time and document my lawn with pictures I might get some kind of a refund or they MIGHT take care of the weeds. Instead I am taking pictures, posting them online for potential customers to see , and canceling my service. I highly recommend no one use cititurf. read more

I have used Cititurf for 15 years. A few years ago I added the weed and feed service they provide. Recently due to Covid layoff issues I called to remove the weed and feed service. I just couldn't afford it right now. They gave me an ultimatum. Either I keep the service along with my biweekly mowing or I could leave. They claimed I was grandfathered into a biweekly mowing service they no longer offered and it was, "inconvenient", to just mow. I dropped them immediately. I dont accept ultimatums from anyone. Hired them to help with weeds, but also used them to put a boarder around grass and apply mulch. Cut back all my bushes and pulled all the weeds in the planters. Joe came out again after the job was finished a few weeks later and emailed me giving me advice of how to get rid of the nasty weeds I have always growing in my planters. I will not recommend CITI TURF. I signed contract with Citi Turf 6 months ago. 'My lawn service is every Wednesday'. 'We will not do service your house on Wednesday.' That's what I put & I told them when I signed the contract. Then they did after 3 months- did my lawn on Wednesday. 'For some reason we do not have this on your profile'. One of the manager told me. 'We'll put it back and we'll not do again.' Sure enough ... they did again on 1/16 (Wednesday). I emailed then I called. This is the answer they told me this time '...we thought most of people they do not do lawn service on winter.' I asked him... 'Did you call or email to me?' I have to give Cititurf five stars, even if it's on a curve. They're punctual, professional, and affordable. Compared to their competition Cititurf are as good as it gets. We started using them for basic mowing a few years ago. Then I found out they'd weed for a price that looked a lot better than doing it myself, and the results were great. Then I found out they mulch too! And fertilize! And do irrigation checks and fixes! Wow, I really need to post some positive comments about all the services I receive instead of continual negativity....if/when I finally receive good service, from anyone, I'll have to write about it ! So, the latest and again with lawn care - Do NOT waste your time taking a chance on CitiTurf to perform. I just terminated CitiTurf yesterday due to poor/lack of customer service and quality of product. I'm really surprised and disappointed - their reviews are good, as are the neighboring yards that they work on, but they completely missed my yard somehow. My one acre yard is suffering from large brown spots (4 to 5 around 20'x40' - yes, caused by a prior lawn service provider), and there was no concern from CitiTurf during their scheduled visits this spring regarding the dead spots, or when I had a manager out to review with me, twice. With ALL communication, whether in person or on the phone, whether manager or receptionist, all I ever received were arguments, excuses and/or blaming something or someone else regarding my yard problem. I noted to them they had now been here a year to service my yard, and part of the problem was the last application in May of this year, when a very young person completed the fertilization/weed spray. He drove the equipment at a rate I'm guessing did not allow the proper volume of fertilizer to be processed by the machine, plus every turn he completed tore up grass or left black rubber on my concrete, again due to too much speed. But no concern again from CitiTurf management, in fact I was informed the young man was going to stay on the route - in other words, CitiTurf chose their non-performing employee (guessing nepotism in some manner) over a customer - hell, he probably got a raise! This is probably the most blatant demonstration of a service provider not caring about their customer that I have ever witnessed...30 years worth. Again, I'm Very disappointed - Non-Existent management, leadership and customer service from the main office, and poor employee/product performance on my yard. I've had CitiTurf on lawn duty since early 2009. I have engaged them to do everything from trim my shrubs to aerate my lawn and even adjust my sprinklers and prune some trees. All has been done with a professional attitude and no excuses. They just work. If it rains they send a message letting me know when they will be back. If they are putting fertilizer or weed killer down they always call and message so I can keep the animals inside. Their customer service is top notch. The lawn care people are very efficient, polite and they go an extra mile. They coil hoses, pick up toys.. even dog toys, left in the yard and put them on my patio. One of the things I liked the most is that they conduct a huge amount of their business via email. Any alerts, general notices, and receipts all come via email. If I want to add a trimming and flower bed maintenance service, I can do that just by emailing. I know it's a millennial thing to avoid phone calls, but I really appreciated the ability to communicate with CitiTurf electronically. We both end up with records and can communicate when convenient. They are very professional in dealing with rain delays and have always done an outstanding job with mowing, trimming, and hedge care. We have been using Cititurf for about 5 years. The yard always looks great and weed control is great but the yard is rarely deep green even when watering. We also like they let us mow biweekly instead of weekly. They break a sprinkler head every other time on average....but we call them and they fix it.....so other than having to message them, it's no big deal. Compared to other services we've tried....they are awesome. If it wasn't for inadequate fertilization.....they would get 5 stars.....they are more like 4.5 stars. read more
