I had major trimming of two large red oaks, removal/covering of a large tree stump, and trimming and removal of large "suckers" from another smaller myrtle tree. I found this company here on Yelp, called and spoke with John--who I believe is the owner. They were doing work in the area so were able to arrive for service the same day. The workers were TOP NOTCH: kind, hard working, attention to detail and professional. These guys make this company worth working with. They came in, got set up, completed the job quickly and cleaned everything up nice before leaving. They were great! Tip them after, they deserve it! I hired Arboriculture Services to trim my beautiful tree in my front yard. They sent me a picture of where the tree was split and needed to be removed. It went from $500 trim to $1700 to cut tree down and remove the stump. He said he could not remove the stump that day but would come back. After several days of not hearing from him, I texted him and told him the stump needed to be removed and to not grind it down. I told him I need to put a tree back in that spot because HOA requires it. He said just put the tree somewhere else which I do not want to do since I had a beautiful stone wall built around the tree and flower beds. First, it would look ridiculous and second, my yard is too small to put the tree somewhere else outside of the flower beds He was worried about breaking the wall. I told him to try not to but if I had to get repaired I would. After not hearing from him again, my son-in-law called him. He called me after that very rude and said he didn't appreciate some man calling him. I asked for a refund of the stump removal cost several times since and he will not return my call or respond to my texts or phone calls. Wow!! Highly recommend Arboriculture Services! They came out today to trim all our trees and did a fantastic job. They are a professional and courteous crew. We have about 4 Live Oak trees that needed trimming/pruning because the trees were very thick and the grass underneath was not getting enough sunlight and causing the grass not to grow correctly. The Arboriculture Services crew came out and quickly worked on the trees, thinning them out, creating a beautiful canopy effect to provide better light and air filtration. I have been so impressed with John and his team through two very large jobs in the last two months. One was a pre-planned tree removal for a tree so large it took them 3 days to complete (he cut me a super nice deal too since it was off season!). The second job was a large tree that fell onto the back side of our house and pierced through windows during a bad storm. I texted John at 7 AM and by the time I got home from work, he'd assembled a full crew and had the entire tree removed from the property. We needed our trees out front trimmed and thinned out. So, I did my research and then called John. He gave me a fair quote and in less than a week his team showed up and did a good job. Cleaned up after them selves and We are pleased with the work. A couple of months later, my elderly father needs similar work done and also a dead peach tree dug trunk dug out. Call John, and again we work out a price. John calls me one afternoon at 4, can they do the work now? Ok, well its a bit later but he says they work til 7. Ok, I tell him to go ahead. When his team gets there, they add more items to the work list and get approved from my dad for the extra $300. It gets to be almost 7 that night when my dad calls and says they have to come back to finish the extra work and the dead tree stump. That was over a month ago. John has charged my card for all the work. I have called and called and called. He even promised to show up twice, but never did. Its a shame. His crew does good work, but only when they actually show up. And it would be nice if he didnt steal from his customers. If he doesn't want to do the work, he should not take or at least refund the money for what he didnt do. Contacted John with a short notice need the other day to get shrubs and trees cut back for a scheduled new fence build. His crew came out and took care of everything. Have also used John to remove a 10 year old oak, and for repairs on a split tree several years ago and that tree is healthy and providing the shade we need during hot summers like this year. My lawn guy wanted almost $750 to remove one tree in my yard. I called these guys, and not only were they more competitive in price, they were willing to come out next day. When John called me back he had already gone by my house and knew what he was dealing with. I felt really good about what he had to offer and used his services. They had the tree down, hauled away, and my other tree trimmed in maybe 30 minutes, then as I was leaving for work the stump removal crew showed up. The workers were really nice and John was a pleasure to work with as well. He has really fair pricing and he also gives good recommendations should you want to re-plant a tree. He said he used to own his own tree farm so he knows what trees are more low maintenance than others. Feel free to call around and get other quotes, but at least give these guys a shot. read more

We used Arboriculture Services on Friday to aggressively trim our 4 Oak trees to get some light to the grass and pool area. Wow are we glad we did. John was able to work us into his schedule within a few days even though there are so many storm jobs right now. The crew removed a 30+ foot oak in the front yard in less than an hour, and went up to thin out our trees. We have a very large yard in West Plano, (just shy of an acre) and needed about 6 large trees removed, some tall mature shrubs taken out and another handful cleaned out and trimmed. I read all the reviews and was not disappointed at all. John, the owner came out that same day and educated me on some of the trees and correct watering (I was over watering!) then gave me a quote for the whole job that was much less than we anticipated. In fact we were planning on doing all the work in several stages because of what we thought it would cost. We agreed and jumped on the whole package deal! The large crew came out the next day and were swift. All the young men are very professional and when they left my yard it was cleaner than it was before they came. They are very friendly and courteous and take their safety and job serious. It was a two day job because of all the work they did. We've had a few other trees removed in the past and the contractor did not remove and grind the stumps which led to the tree trying to grow back Arboriculture services safely cuts the tree down removes the stumps and grinds them on the premises with their big truck and cleans up afterwards. My husband has always been able to trim our trees, but we finally had to call in a professional this year for our two lacebark elms and two pecans due to their size. Because this was our first time hiring out tree trimming, we did not know what to expect for cost or even how to tell if the trimming was done properly. We received three quotes and they varied by quite a bit. Arboriculture does do business a bit different-more like on the fly. The other two companies showed up at the scheduled time to give estimates and spoke at great length about the scope of their work. John at Arboriculture did not show when he said he would to give the estimate, but did phone my husband about an hour or so after saying he had gotten tied up with a previous job. Since we were no longer at home, John stopped by our house to look at our trees and spoke with my husband over the phone to give his estimate. We narrowed our choice to the highest bid and lowest bid (which was Arboriculture). Because we had not met John in person, I called John to talk further and maybe we could meet. He spent a fair amount of time with me on the phone and gave me a good feeling that in this case going with the low bid will work out just fine. John and his crew were currently on a job but thought he was certain he could be at our house before end of day. But did say the job would get done the next morning at the latest. Well, the crew did not show by end of that day, so I assumed they would be at my home the next morning, which they did but kind of weird that I did not get any kind of notice they were on their way, nor did they come to my door when they arrived. They just started trimming the trees and really did not want any interaction with me. They were fast given all the branches they trimmed. Except for one large branch accidentally left behind (which I had to tell John about twice to please come pick up) the crew did an excellent job of cleaning up my yard. We hired Arboriculture services to remove a 30yr old multi trunk red oak tree that was leaning towards our house by about 30% with some large branches over our roof. The tree showed stress fractures on several trunks and we elected to remove it to prevent potential damage to our house should it fall. Their pricing is competitive but their service and quality cannot be exceeded. The 4 man crew had the tree down and yard cleaned up within 3 hours and they returned 2 days later to grind the stump, again cleaning up after their work. The crew was professional, efficient and took care in my property while being careful not to damage any sprinkler lines during the trunk removal. They were pleasant to deal with from the initial quote thru final debris removal and clean up, and even cleaned up the cul de sac of leaves, etc. I could not have been more pleased with their service.
