Although responsive up front, this company never provided a quote - I don't know if anyone ever looked at tree or not.

I received a dreaded notice from my HOA about a dead tree on my property. After shopping around, I decided to go with Acadia because Jacob was able to provide a complete service (tree removal, haul away, stump grinding, and a new tree). I was amazed at how easy the process was. Everything was accomplished while I was at work for a few hours, and the job was thorough and professional. There was no mess or damage. Update: I contacted their office as instructed by their manager below and they sent a crew out (twice) to try to match the concrete patch a bit better (see updated photo). While it shows a positive example of their commitment to excellent customer service, the fact is they are not going to be able to match the concrete and the damage is done. As shown in the picture, our walkway has a "salt rock" kind of finish. Short of re-laying that same finish (or comparable finish), it's never going to look right and I will eventually need to hire my own contractor to get that block re-paved, at my expense. So while I won't say I'm 100% satisfied, because I'm not, I still appreciate the effort they put in trying to make things right. Original Review: It's a shame to leave a somewhat negative review because I had high hopes for our tree removal service. After a major tree in our front yard was badly damaged in a storm, Jacob was quick to respond, provided a quote fast, got on the phone with me to give me the right advice about what to do (trim or completely remove) and even made recommendations about trees to eventually replace the one we were losing. He's an arborist, so I learned a lot just in those few minutes on the phone together. He also undercut the competitors by at least $100, which sort of sealed the deal. Jacob sent a team out within a week and the tree was removed, the stump was ground, and for the job of "tree removal and stump grinding" it was an A+ job. His crew even chopped up and left us some firewood at my request. Upon packing up though, the crew damaged our concrete walkway with their stump grinder. They assured me that Jacob would take care of it and I was confident he would too based on my previous good experience with him. I texted him, and he immediately took responsibility and agreed to fix the concrete. Unfortunately, he kept making promises to send a crew out to patch up the concrete but then kept flaking out. I want to note here I NEVER pressured him on getting the concrete patch done on any specific timeline; I only texted him to check in every so often because he would text me saying "Ok we're sending someone out tomorrow" but then "tomorrow" would come and no one would show. I simply kept following up, because I hoped eventually he would come through. Two weeks later and lots of texts in between, someone finally did arrive to fix the patch. They patched it up with some gray concrete that very clearly didn't match the rest of our walkway. The crew said "don't worry - it'll blend in with the rest of your walkway. Give it 2 weeks or so and if it doesn't look blended in, we'll come back and fix it." Two weeks came and went and there is still a big, ugly, gray patch that doesn't match our walkway. Jacob has now gone completely silent on text in regard to my follow up on this. Ultimately, I learned a valuable lesson here: don't pay for a job unless that job is done 100% to your satisfaction - even when externalities occur like damages unrelated to the job were caused by the crew performing that job. Now I have an ugly concrete patch on our walkway that I have to fix at my own cost and time all because of someone else's mistake and lack of follow through. read more

They were the first quote we received, and after looking at other services, Acadia was clearly the best choice to make for not only the amount of work they did but also because they encouraged us to get other quotes and did not push anything, even though they were already very competitively priced. He asked for specifics and then gave me options to choose from. He and his crews showed up right on time as promised and worked quickly to complete the job. The crew showed up on time and made short work of 3 large trees. Some we're hanging over fences and houses and the team worked together to ensure no damage to property. Phenomenal communication and service. Competitive with their quoting and we had a ton of work on some large and older trees. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable on the work at hand and how to go about it properly. It was nice to see them take the proper safety precautions while climbing to thin out our overgrown trees but you wouldn't believe how fast they worked. This past August, I closed on my house and knew I would eventually (but ideally not as soon as I actually had to) have to have the dying, giant elm in the back removed for safety reasons. Storm came through, branch came down, and so I realized I needed to have this done now. I found Acadia online by googling and on yelp. I researched and loved the good reviews. Jacob was prompt and always professional. The communication before the quote, afterwards, and during the job was superb. He also shared his concerns about other trees that have the potential to be dangerous (branches over the house), but I never felt pressured to do everything right now. His crew was nice, diligent, careful/safe, and everything was cleaned up before they left. His prices are very fair, and I really appreciated how he broke down what each cost was in his quote. He is also insured, which was big for me since the job was so large and could be dangerous.
