One of the most UNPROFESSIONAL agents I've encountered Aurel Savin - he hosted an open house today. I arrived on time and found a note on the door that instructed interested people to text the cell number. The agent Aurel answered saying to give him a few minutes. So I waited, outside the building in the 30 degrees weather, not even the lobby. 10 minutes went by and I texted again and Aurel said he was with clients, to give him time. I waited outside for 20 minutes just to see an OPEN HOUSE, doesn't he understand the word OPEN?? Total waste of time. read more

Shlono Azizyahi is an agent I workd with. I never dealt with someone that is so unprofessional, who constantly lies and changes the story.  They charge $100 to run your credit?? You as a big organization should be weare of who uses your name and represents you. At this point, I'm not sure whether this guy an agent or a landlord or whether this property is available in the first place or that he tried to defraud me by extracting a lum some check without having a property read more

I'd leave 5 stars, but moving isn't ever going to be that great. It should be testimony enough that I was inclined to leave a positive review, but I'll elaborate for those that are still on the dark side of the move. Finding a home in New York is difficult: It's a fast and expensive market. You'll do all this viewing and comparison and decision brokering just to find that you still have to cut a check to someone who just met you out front of the building. So you can see that I'm cynical. Yet, here I am to tell you that one man changed my outlook on New York brokers. This is my ringing endorsement for Travis Hudson. Travis is a very thoughtful and low-pressure guide to help you find your way home. Fee or no-fee; he'll dig diligently and produce options that meet your criteria and also expand your consideration. He's genuinely a helpful real estate professional and a great communicator. I recommend him to all of my friends . read more

Agents themselves are quite pleasant, but unfortunately also quite comfortable leasing apartments to people when they know the building does not have reliable hot water. We signed a lease dates April 15th. Had no hot water for the first month, then has been on and off ever since, sometimes being off for over a week at a time. Citi Habitats were made aware of this immediately, however have continued leasing these apartments, and we have since found out that this issue has been going on since September 2017. There are now 30+ of us affected by this. So, nice people, but don't 100% trust them and check things out for yourself. I shall not be using this agency again. read more

Got the chance to work with Reginald Johnson. He is THE best agent we met while dealing with the stressful process of looking for a future place to live. Besides being easy-going and in general a wonderful person to deal with, he was prompt when communicating with us and really got a feel for what we were looking for. We ended up subletting from a friend BUT Reginald was so awesome, that we absolutely needed to thank him and make sure everyone else knows the great work that he does! read more

Gregory at Citi Habitats was amazing. My husband and I contacted him through an ad posted for an apartment. He was prompt, always accessible when we had questions, thorough when explaining the process to us, and gave great advice for navigating our apartment search. I would highly recommend working with him! In the past, my husband and I were conned by a broker and lost our security deposit, so I was initially skeptical of working with a realtor. But Gregory was a pleasure to work with, I can't thank him enough for his services. My family and I are very happy in our new apartment. read more

I worked with Davida Tretout when looking for an apartment. I didn't reach out to aptsandlofts directly, but met Davida on checking out an apartment I saw on craigslist. From that point on, she was very dedicated to finding me a great place and really took my desires to heart when looking for places. She was very communicative, responding to emails quickly and often (several times a day), and it really felt like she was trying to treat me as if I was her only client. The one time she was late due to traffic, she kept me updated with her status, which I really appreciated. Though I have not moved yet, Davida had a great relationship with the landlord of the apartment I chose, who was also a pretty quirky, cool guy. It felt like because Davida had a good rapport with him, she was able to quickly transfer that goodwill to me, as well. I'd highly recommend working with Davida if you have the chance! read more

Shabir Ahmad was extremely dedicated to helping me find the right apartment in my specific price range. I would never have found the apartment of my dream without Shabir. He was so supportive and even made the process fun! He was very helpful and professional and helping me though the entire process. Can't say enough nice things. read more

Great experience with Jodi Karem! I had begun my search sending out many inquiry emails after browsing Naked Apartments, and was unimpressed when some brokers replied with a quick cursory email, some writing a few days later, and others not all. Jodi was the only broker from any company who, in addition to emailing me, actually called and left me a detailed and helpful message. I got a sense of what was available, what her style was like, and what I could likely expect if I worked with her, without having to chase a broker down for more information. I was moving from out of state, not certain of the best neighborhood for me, and potentially having to sign a lease from a distance, so confidence in her skills, attention, and reputability was critical. She took the time to listen to what my needs and priorities were. She sent me some possibilities to narrow down her understanding of what I was looking for. In the end, I did come to the city for one whirlwind day of apartment viewing. Jodi had set up several appointments in a row, all of which met my very narrow and complicated criteria (outdoor space, allowed dogs, natural light, open kitchen, near subway, moderately priced, etc.). She did not waste my time with inappropriate matches, or cancelled appointments. The neighborhoods we settled on were good for my needs. She was completely prepared and organized for my very short visit that had little room for error. I selected a place the next morning, and we started the paperwork immediately. I had a somewhat complicated application with partial self-employment and being from out-of-state. I went to her office the that evening, and she and the office manager stayed with me until everything necessary was complete. Jodi worked diligently with the building broker and the landlord over the next couple of days to get my application in to take the place off the market, and to get me approved. When I arrived a week later in NYC on the first of the month after a 2-day drive (with a full car and dogs), the building broker was there as promised with keys in hand, no complications. I have been in my place a month now. It is even than I had hoped, and the neighborhood is a better match for me than I would have ever discovered on my own. I have no complaints about Citi Habitats, and only good things to say about Jodi. I hope to purchase something in the next few years, and will be certain to engage Jodi for that when the time comes. I was very lucky to find her! read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE company!! Stay away if you want a smooth transition into your new apartment. Vicky was professional and helpful up UNTIL she received her Broker's Fee, then completely dropped the ball on the most important steps in the moving process: -how to get the lease signed -communication to the landlord -receipt of the keys On top of all this, she quickly texted me the night before my discussed move-in date to just inform me that the apartment would not be cleaned before my moving in. SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND ABSURD!!!! What kind of a company leaves you to the wolves like that? APTSANDLOFTS. She *seemed* so helpful and responsive, telling me that of course the apartment would be clean, I could move in a day before the lease began, etc. However, after she received her broker's fee, none of the things we discussed were met. She added SO MUCH extra stress on the night before my move-in day, which is stressful enough, and did nothing to remedy the situation. In fact, she responded in a ridiculously childish ways like saying, "well the apartment is not dirty, it's just dusty." If I could take back my experience with aptsandlofts, I absolutely would. STAY AWAY! I REPEAT, STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLY UNPROFESSIONALLY, DISHONEST, and DISORGANIZED COMPANY!! read more

We are from VA and we had to start our apartment hunting during the Holidays bc my husband was relocating for work in Manhattan starting in the beginning of January. Daria was very helpful during this process. Always sending us a lot options, being patient and professional. I highly recommend her. read more

This review is for Marvin Michel. Marvin was incredibly professional, dedicated, and helpful in my partner's and my apartment search. For the multiple weeks he worked with us, he was responsive, considerate, and knowledgeable. Most importantly though, he found us many great apartment options using our annoyingly picky criteria. We would definitely recommend Marvin for anyone in need of an intelligent, respectful, and hardworking broker. He is also very personal and helped to humanize the seemingly cold, soulless world of real estate. Thank you, Marvin! read more

Two of my friends and I were looking to move in together in BK, we were talking about it and we ran into this city habitat as we were strolling one day. The Front desk person introduced us to Linda Nader, who is the MOST organized Realestate agent I've encountered thus far in my life. She is a breath of fresh air, especially when you are on a time constraint and feeling anxious about finding a right "home" for you and your friends. We all had different demands on what we were looking for and Linda wrote down all of them and followed up with us via email and text in a very detailed manner- this was nice bc we were all on the same page with what apts we wanted to see and not waste our time. Linda is super calm and kept us calm w this tiresome process of looking for an apt that fits us and our budgets in BROOKLYN! She had multiple listings to show us on one day so we wouldn't waste our time during the week going back and forth seeing different apartments. I can't thank Linda enough for going through this chaos w us and making us feel right at home w her loving personality. I would highly recommend this place and beautiful lady Linda Nader is a gem . read more

This review is for agent Meghana Patel. Earlier this year, my boyfriend and I looked at apartment with her and she was amazing. Nice, HONEST, helpful. No fee....showed us REAL no fee apartments in our budget. This is not commonplace in NYC, people!!! I will forever use Citi Habitats and tell everyone I know who may be looking, that this is who you want to use. read more

Within the next few months I plan to start my apartment search and I will be using Chanel Clark of city habitats! She's knowledgeable and compassionate, and will search for you like she would search for herself. She's prompt, organized, and awesome at maintaining her composure. I'm a sort or scatter brained thinker who's pretty indecisive and someone like Chanel will help me weigh all my options, give me the pros and cons, and leave me feeling like I made the right decision! read more

I recently came across Gregory via a StreetEasy listing and he was fantastic! He showed us quality units and wasn't pushy at all which I loved. He was calm, confident, and excellent in his communication from our very first phone chat. He even followed up once the lease was signed to assure we got our keys and didn't need anything. We found the perfect unit (we are so so happy!) and he's been nothing but a jewel along the way. read more

I worked with Vicki Morris and had a great experience. Vicki was friendly and kind as a person, and attentive and professional as a broker. She found us many good options within our specific requirements, and when we found a place we loved, she was responsive at all hours until our application was complete and we got the apartment. I would certainly recommend working with her! read more

I worked with Steve Laurelli and he was extremely helpful and accommodating especially when things didn't go according to plan and when I asked for some things to be changed. Life seldom goes according to plan and nothing is perfect, and Steve did a very nice job adapting to the situations that arose and got me into a new apartment I love. Would highly recommend Steve Laurelli! read more

This review is for Samantha Midler - she is absolutely fantastic! My boyfriend and I were looking for our first apartment in the Cobble Hill area with not much direction on what we wanted. We walked into the office and were greeted by Luis. He helped connect us with Sam who was in contact with us within the hour. The next day, we went back and rode bikes around Brooklyn and saw several apartments in a variety of different areas. Sam was very patient and knowledgeable about each location as we had many questions. This is a very busy time of year for both of us, but she remained flexible and helpful throughout our search and we were approved for an apartment in 2 days! I would highly recommend her services to anyone! read more

This review is for Selin Dearborn, who was the best broker I came across in my year searching for a studio or small one-bedroom in Brooklyn. She was exceedingly patient and never once pressured me into taking something that I didn't love or which was out of my price range. She was honest and worked very hard to understand my needs and find listings that matched them. I unfortunately didn't find the apartment I ended up with through Selin, but I would've happily handed over a broker's fee to her if I had. She works hard and deserves your business! read more

I feel so lucky to have found both my new apartment and Josephine during my housing search. From the moment I reached out to the day I signed the lease, she advocated for me and answered any questions that came up. Highly recommend! read more

This review is for Chanel Clark. I need everyone to understand that this woman goes hard for her clients!!!!! My boyfriend and I were in a sketchy situation with another realty company and somehow someway Chanel contacted me at a time I was so sure we were going to be homeless. She's very responsive and personable and worked with us every step of the way. Including let me fill out the application in her office late one night. Even the stories she told me about the small things she's done for clients just during casual conversation really let's you see a glimpse of her character. Since we had to find an apartment in 5 days, she lined up several showings for us in one day and told me, verbatim, to pack water and wear comfy shoes because we were going on a tour. She really listened to our needs and got us THE MOST AMAZING APARTMENT EVER!! We could not be happier. She even went above and beyond to get us in the price range we wanted to be in. I have been nonstop raving about her to everyone I know looking for apartments. Thank you so much Chanel. You really made the apartment hunting process so easy. read more

This review is for Marvin Michel. Although I ended up taking an apartment that was exclusively listed by another firm, I was impressed by Marvin's knowledge, dedication, and enthusiasm. When I first contacted him, he sent me a detailed email with helpful information about the Brooklyn rental market and insightful questions about what I was hoping to find. He really listened to my answers, carefully searched through available listings, and showed me several appealing apartments. We debriefed after each viewing, and he followed up via text when I was considering putting in an application. In every interaction, Marvin seemed genuinely excited about helping my find my ideal home. I hope that I don't have to move again any time soon, but I would love to work with Marvin and would highly recommend him! read more

My companion and I worked with Real Estate agent Jennifer Murray, she was great. Jennifer listened to our request and found several apartments withing our budget. Jennifer drove us to all the open houses. Jennifer went above and beyond most NY real estate agents, we are impressed with the service she provided. I recommend Jennifer Murray for your real estate needs. read more

My salesperson was Gabrielle. She showed up 10 minutes late for my appointment and quickly showed me the apartment then we started back to her office to complete the application process. The apartment was $2k per month, I make well into six figures and told her I had all the docs to prove this: bank stubs, pay stubs, tax returns etc. She then asked if I "had substantial assets" . This kind of threw me off as I was unaware that one needed "substantial assets" for $2k apt. I told her my application was strong and that I could provide all application materials proving it. We got back to her office, I handed her my application and processing fee in cash. She pushed my application and cash right back to me saying "I'm sending applications to the landlord this afternoon, let's see where they land" I left her office immediately feeling profiled and disregarded. I just couldn't understand why I received this treatment other than the brown tone of my skin. The next day I get an email from Gabrielle telling me that she's too busy and she wanted to hand me to another broker. I called her boss to file a complaint and was told "this isn't the way we do business I will talk to her and she won't have a job if she keeps this up". But obviously she wasn't fired for the way she handled me and that is the way they do business. read more
