Shady is the word that describes this business best. I worked with Adam, but had some interactions with Charles (I guess he is their boss). When I first walked into their offices in January, I filled out an application and spoke to a woman sitting right next to the door. When I asked her why they never have any pictures of apartments they advertise, she answered sheepishly :"maybe the camera was broken". I guess I should have ran the other way right then... Fast forward two months: avoiding to give address of the apartment and insisting on meeting at the office and driving to the place only to find out I have seen the place with another broker - complete waste of everyone's time. Talking about upcoming units that are being "renovated" or can't be shown yet, but then disappearing and not returning calls for weeks. Re-appearing after a few weeks like nothing happened, and leaving one or 2 messages a day on my phone every day for a week - despite the fact that I never picked up and my silence should have sent a clear message. 1st Premier is a dime a dozen in a sea of many other, equally shady businesses around them, and maybe they don't stick out in any way for that reason. I spent a month visiting brokers up and down Third Avenue in a desperate effort to find something nice. The things I saw at some of them leave me shuddering to this day... Then I met Annette here. She met with me well after normal business hours ended and escorted me to three gorgeous places, one, two, three. She knew the neighborhood inside out. I found a place I liked, she negotiated down the price... and then someone overbid me. Well. That happens. Finding a broker who will work to negotiate a price down is a rarity. I worked with Moe on my apartment rental search. He was extremely professional, got to know me on a personal level and was able to get a feel for the types of places I would seriously consider within my budget range. He did not waste my time with places that were either 1) out of my budget range or 2) something inappropriate for what I said I was looking for. All in all, I decided to stay in my current residence due to extenuating circumstance but I would refer him to a friend or relative readily. I came to Mo on a short notice when my landlord was pushing me out and needed the apartment back by the beginning of April. Mo helped me get my now beautiful and comfortable apartment in less than a week. I signed the lease and moved in the following week. The apartment is in really nice and safe neighborhood with a plus side of variety of restaurants surrounding me. Mo is really kind and helpful with me throughout this ordeal. He was also really honest too about all the apartments he took me to see. He didn't hard sell me a crappy apartment just to get his fee sooner. He'd also tried to negotiate the rent for me given my financial situation. I couldn't asked for a better realtor like him. He is truly the best. I found a place on Zillow that I was interested in and Moe Najjar from First Premier Realty was listed as the contact so I reached out to him. When I first went there, I didn't have a good feeling. The place looked really dingy on the inside and out. However he was very friendly and he drove me to that space and three other similar ones. I needed a few days to decide and thankfully when I decided on the one I was initially interested in, it was still available. We encountered some major hiccups with the management company but Moe was very communicative throughout the process. It took a few weeks but when I finally saw the lease it had a "preferential rent rider" on the lease, which I had never seen before. I was upset and wasn't sure I wanted to sign it. He did a great job of helping me see that it wasn't such a big deal and now that a month has passed, I have no regrets signing on. Despite the delays I would definitely work with them again. It's my first time looking at apartments and moving out of my parents. My apartment search began in May just looking online, didn't call agents until around July. Got Premiers number off of Trulia after seeing a apartment I was interested in, called up it was the direct line to our agent Annette. She was wonderful, showed us 4 apartments the first time meeting her. Two of the four were in the same building, We fell in love with them, unfortunately they were already taken. But Annette knew an apartment just like the ones we fell in love with was opening up soon, sure enough two days later she called, one opened up and for us to come see it now. I had been looking for an apt. in the Bay Ridge area for about 2 months before getting in touch with 1st premier realty. What a welcome change of pace from the normal broker/realty routine. The gentleman that I worked with wasted no time showing me 3 of the nicest apartments I had seen in Brooklyn up to that point after viewing some 3 dozen apartments from others that you would have to PAY me to move into. These apt's that he showed me were well maintained, cleaned and in good condition. The gentleman (Charles) that helped me respected my time and didn't wast both of our days showing me rat and bug infested places. I found one I liked almost immediately and we started the paperwork. He accompanied me to all the meetings with the board and helped me every step of the way with any questions I had. I highly recommend anyone looking for a quality apartment in the area to give them a try. Within 3 days of looking at places I was ready to sign a lease and start the whole process. After looking for an apartment for over a month and becoming very frustrated with other brokers who blatantly lied to us about the policies of buildings, Dina and Michael from 1st Premiere Realty got the job done for us in a little over a week. This place continually disappointed me. They never have the apts to show that I called about. The ones they would post on craigslist were always misstated (THEIR "modern 4 room" = 1 bedroom 1 living room 1 kitchen 1 bathroom). They just try to get people to come in and then show them apts outside of the price range they are told to look for. Thandy is 100% right, they did the same thing for me, except that for an entire week afterwards they called everyday asking if we would be interested in some apts OUTSIDE of the price range we told them we were looking for! I tried dealing with them on 3 separate occasions, and after the 3rd time i said enough was enough. They were NEVER on time I always waited for more than 30 mins and on my second trip i waited 45 mins and then was told they didnt have the apt to show me that i had called 2 HOURS before to confirm. My first review got deleted so I'm trying again... I would not recommend doing business with this agency. Charlie was nice enough to show us several apartments and even gave us a ride in his car. We definitely received a lot of TLC...until we handed off the payment. First of all they demand payment in cash with no receipt given. This was only told to us after we agreed to take the apartment. I've never had such as large wad of money in my hands. The worry of course is that if the deal didn't go through I of would have no way of proving that the money changed hands. With the transfer of cash Charley disappeared into thin air. The next day when I went to see the landlord (on my own) I was told that the rent information given to me was not correct. Luckily me and the landlord were able to reach an agreement on the spot. Otherwise I'd be in trouble as I've already told my old landlord that I will be leaving. I found a listing connected to this realty office on zillow.com. I called and set an appointment. for 3 days later with Adam. At that time I informed him that I was from the North Bronx, commuting by train and what neighborhoods i wanted to view apartments. He told me he would set up a few to see and not to worry. Fast forward to today, after a 2 hour long train commute, I arrive in bay ridge with a voice mail stating they had nothing to show me today, maybe next week -_- Assuming this can't possibly be happening, I enter the office and explain to a young lady the situation. She told me he would be in soon and don't worry. ten minutes later, Adam (I'm guessing b/c there was no introduction or apology) walks in and sits at his desk. I ask if they have a list of available apartments anywhere in Brooklyn...no list. They offered me one option in sunset park then asked if i had car to go see it -_- Long story short, I wasted 4 hrs commuting to an unprofessional and clearly mismanaged realty company. Cancelling an appointment an hour before scheduled time, lack of accountability for mistakes, promising what you clearly can not delivery is pretty amateur. Thank you for wasting my day. read more

I was assured that the renter Charles pushed so hard on me was a good man, of great character, who would be a wonderful renter. That he had two teenage children, and a wife learning English better. THAT WAS A TOTAL LIE. After finally getting him out by having to take him to court, he owes me 6 months rent. The five of them (3 young kids) created MASSIVE DAMAGE THROUGHOUT to what was a perfect apartment that had just been renovated. He left TONS OF STUFF, 4 beds, crap and filth everywhere, an illegal washing machine, roaches we never had before - spraying the house with industrial poision that left us unable to use the place because we couldn't breathe, massive cleanup and damage to wood all over the place. Salah even stole the nice toilet seat. The lease said "broom swept condition, no washing machines, and that they are responsible for all damage." Clearly, they couldn't care less what they were supposed to do or not do. They are the tenants from hell. But Charles couldn't say enough nice things about his friends from Egypt. Awful. Dishonest. Pushy. They are everything one does NOT want in a broker. The story: When they showed us an apartment that we found on Streeteasy, they revealed that, aside from the 1 month rent for broker fee (which is not atypical), there's also a $1000 management fee (totally not standard), we would have to *pay* to have safety bars installed on the windows (illegal--the landlord must supply that), and they wanted to lie to the landlord about the number of kids we have (illegal) so that she wouldn't reject us because of the number of kids (also illegal), and he encouraged me to pay off the super not to tell the landlord I was lying (illegal). He also said that many residents of the building at 555 Ovington have more kids than they are reporting to the landlord. YOU DO NOT WANT TO RENT THROUGH THESE PEOPLE. I worked with Adam and Charles. Worst experience ever dealing with 1st Premier realty. We dealt with a broker who calls himself Adam. For our first appointment, he showed hungover with alcohol on his breath. He reluctantly showed us two apartments and used his typical broker tricks to get us sign a lease quickly as if those were the last two apts in Brooklyn. He was extremely rude to us. She was friendly, professional, intelligent and not at all pushy or high pressure. She was filled with knowledge about the buildings, apartments, as well as the area's. (Bay Ridge) It was just an incredibly relief in the apartment hunting search. If you are unsure or think you may change your mind or if something comes up do not give them a deposit. They refused to give me back my deposit!!!! MUST READ THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE YOU SIGN. READ EVERYTHING!!!! You must show up in person, fill out an application for them to show you apartments. I was annoyed at the fact that I had to repeatedly say I must stay within my budget, but kept getting phone calls from Dina asking to show me overpriced apartments. My experience was very unpleasant and unnecessary. The Manager/President, Charlie Farraj, was very unprofessional and disrespectful. I did not appreciate the way he treated my roommate and I. I'm writing this review because I feel compelled to let the GENERAL PUBLIC know the TRUTH about how 1st Premier Realty's Manager/President, Charlie Farraj, does business and treats people. Not only did he request cash from us when no services were rendered or an agreement was reached, but once he received our money he was nowhere to be found. We felt violated. He is the only realtor in human history that never shows up to appointments and let's his customers go see properties for themselves. Charlie Farraj was very hard to reach and communicate with. Furthermore, when we did speak we never liked what we heard. Something to the tune of more money or an outright lie was conveyed to us. Eventually, lie after lie and lack of respect, we demanded our money back (which should have never been given in the first place) and took our business elsewhere. I cannot speak of the other ladies and gentlemen that work for 1st Premier Realty in Brooklyn, however, after dealing with Charlie Farraj (again, the Manager) I will not conduct any real estate business with 1st Premier Realty ever again. I will make sure I let all my friends and family know to stay away as well. Moe works really hard for his clients and knows Brooklyn really well. Moe has contacts in lovely buildings and homes, really cares about the client and understands real people's needs. He listens and is professional, a rarity. He wasn't the one to find us the right place (although, almost, so close!) We happened to see something later in the day that fit our needs better in terms of commute, which really has little to do with Moe. Moe is a great broker and I highly recommend him. read more

We rented our current apartment through Annette. She was really helpful, took the time to show us multiple apartments on a number of occasions. We had tried to see apartments in the area through other agents, but they showed us inappropriate places or said they would call back if they found something and never did. Only Annette came through with anything worthwhile. Scheduling was tough as we were coming from Long Island, but Annette showed us places at any time we could get there. When she found the place we rented, she called us right away and said she was standing in an apartment that would be perfect for us and to come down as soon as possible to grab it before someone else did. Extremely unprofessional. I was repeatedly promised that packages were being put together for me to view apartments, and then told that they didn't have my price range or any information. Yesterday I was promised that I would get a text with a specific time, which never came. I called today to confirm that there was actually an appointment, and was again told they didn't know my price range, but that a package had been put together. When I asked how they could have managed to put one together without knowing my price range, he stopped lying and admitted that there was no package. I was essentially jerked around for two weeks, without once being shown a single apartment or having a single appointment time confirmed. I should have known to be wary when they would not set up anything via email, but I believed the positive recent reviews here on Yelp. Avoid this business at all costs, unless you enjoy wasting time. read more

Save the money and do your own apartment hunting. Charles, the person, who showed us the apartment was nice enough and his secretary Dina texted us to death trying to set up appointments. Seemed like we would be well taken care of by these people. All of that changed after we agreed to take one of the places shown. First of all these people expect payments in cash. No money orders, cashiers checks or credit cards accepted. You give them a wad of cash, they give you a photocopied piece of paper as a receipt. After the money was payed up Charlie (un)expectedly vanished into thin air. When I went to see the landlord (by myself) he told me that the rent quote given to me by Charlie was not correct, but was in fact higher. And that the 'application fee' that 1st Premier Realty charged me was not something that he (the landlord) charged. Charlie told him that this is something to 'thank the super with'. Funny how Charlie decided to tip the super with my money. Sadly apartment also left much to be desired. Much noisier than expected and farther from transportation. Not fully renovated as promised; I had to do a lot of clean up on my own. All in all it wasn't worth paying 1st Premier a full month rent for the amount/quality of work performed. After the experience with 1st Premier my honest advise is to do apartment hunt on your own. Look no further, this is the best realtor in Bay Ridge. I had lived in my apartment my enitre life and never moved. I was in a rent controlled building and due to excessive rent increases (7 1/2% yearly) I was forced to start looking. I wasn't in a hugh hurry but knew sooner or later I had to go. I had heard about First Premier and what an excellent agent Annette was so I gave her a call. I knew right away I had picked a winner. Because I had extra time I mentioned a specific building in Bay Ridge that has a wonderful reputation. It turned out that First Premier was the realtor for that building. I had also heard that this agency had the best listings in Bay Ridge and that was certainly the truth. Annette told me that people rarely moved out of this apartment so not to get my hopes up. I had not registered with FP yet but Annette took my number and promised to call me if an apartment became available in the desired building. About a month later I got a call from Annette saying that a one bedroom apartment became available and I am now living there and could not be happier. Annette handled every thing from start to finish. The lease for this apartment was for no pets as I have a cat I was not comfortable with that. Annette worked with the landlord to add a rider to my lease allowing the cat, she covered all bases and was available for me 24/7 including weekends. She also helped me in getting my cable transferred and due to the agency's agreement with TW Cable I was also given a month free cable service. I really cannot say enough good things about these guys. Moving can really be a traumatice experience but with First Premier it was a breeze. Annette is truly a pro at what she does.
