Unfortunately, after attending several open houses in the area, we did meet several realtors but none of which was courteous enough to actually take us seriously or return our phone calls to help us find a property that best suited our needs. In an intense real estate market like Brooklyn's, it did not seem as though anyone cared enough to actually help us find a home that worked for us....it seemed as though they must have so many potential buyers for these properties that the human aspect of their job went out the window. That was when we met Melanie at an open house. From the start she was very professional. At the open house she allowed us to explore the home on our own and made herself available if we had any questions, rather than most who follow you around so closely you can feel them breathing down your neck. We liked the property we saw, but we didn't love it. We chatted for a bit and Melanie asked if it was okay to contact us with any properties that might fit with our needs. I honestly thought to myself, sure we will hear from you, just like everyone else said they would contact us. Much to our surprise, Melanie did reach out to us about a week later and showed us a few more properties. What is unique about Melanie in this market is that she actually cares about her clients and wants to help them find a home that suits them, rather than just making a quick sale. This was apparent in our conversations and with our discussions with her regarding the property we ultimately purchased. Melanie is genuinely a caring individual whose charisma is contagious and her level of experience is apparent in the relationship we established. After a long search filled with viewing crappy apts & dealing with unproffesional brokers i was losing hope. Thats when i sent the "id like to request a tour" message to one of Devoted's properties and all my troubles went away. That was on a Tuesday morning. I met with John to view it just a few hours later that day. Applied on Wednesday. Approved on Thursday! I could of signed my lease same day or next day too if I wanted but I opted for that Saturday. John answered every one of my concerns, gave me his advice & opinion on questions I had that wasn't even part of his job to answer he's just a good guy on top of good at his job! He may be a little late to your meeting or miss a text because he's juggling so much getting us into our new homes but i'm telling you do not let it deter you from working with one of the best agents out here! Oh and dont hesitate to provide whatever is needed to submit your application. Just think about all those apartments you reached out to on zillow or street easy but then didnt respond after. Devoted wants to protect their time spent, show you're serious and also make sure you dont back out last minute of a property another potential tenant could have its only fair!
